Description

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION Field of Invention
  • The present invention relates to a smoking apparatus, and more particularly, to a smoking device having a detachable head which allows easy cleaning of smoke residue and dirt trapped inside the device.
  • Description of Related Art
  • Smoking substances are often consumed in many different ways which include: using smoking rolling papers, cigars, pipes, bongs, dab rigs, bubblers, hookahs, devices made from household items or even by ingesting the substance itself. Using rolling papers for smoking is one of the most popular methods of consuming smoking substances; however this method alters the quality of the smoked substance and is quite tedious to achieve because the user has to roll the substance into the paper. Smoking devices made from household items are very easy to produce, but can be messy and cumbersome to make.
  • Pipes, bongs, dab rigs and bubblers are very suitable smoking devices used for consuming smoking substances. They are ideal because can be reused and help to retain the quality of the substance being smoked. The shortcoming of conventional pipes, bongs, dab rigs and bubblers is that they are costly to purchase, and easily get blocked with smoke residue such as tar buildup. In addition, due to the way they are produced, they are quite difficult to clean. It is therefore, desirable to have an improved smoking device which solves the problem of easy cleaning associated with other conventional smoking devices.
  • As a result of the shortcomings of existing prior art, including the inventions mentioned above, there is a desirable need for an improved smoking device which overcomes the problems associated with those existing inventions.
  • The present invention therefore solves the problems associated with conventional smoking devices, and the details are provided below.
  • SUMMARY
  • The following is a summary of the features and functions of the present invention. A full understanding of the invention can be acquired by considering the entire specification, claims, drawings, and the abstract.
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a better smoking apparatus which can be opened and cleaned easily of excess smoke residue buildup, and which at the same time, is effective in the consumption of smoking substances.
  • The present invention is a smoking device which has a detachable head (mouthpiece end in the case of the pipe version) that can easily be opened for easy and quick cleaning. The smoking apparatus may come in the following embodiments namely: as a pipe, a smoking bong, a dab rig, or a bubbler.
  • The present invention comprises a detachable head/mouthpiece end which consists of a mouthpiece at the upper end, and on which the user's lips are placed while inhaling smoking substances, a silicone ring around the opposite end of the mouthpiece which seals tightly to the bottom piece of the smoking device and prevents the head and bottom pieces from slipping off, a bottom piece (which serves as the base of the device in the case of the bong, dab rig and bubbler versions) also consisting of a silicone ring which seals to the head/mouthpiece end of the device, and a bowl in which a smoking substance is placed before it is ignited for inhalation. The silicone rings seal tightly to each other and are able to withhold high heat; hence, facilitating the suction needed to inhale the substance through the mouthpiece of the device. In another version of the present invention, the silicon rings consist of a twist (threaded) feature which allows the user to screw or unscrew the head of the device to the base part.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The present invention is hereby described in detail according to the illustrations FIG. 1-12 of the drawings which are provided herein.
  • In FIG. 1, the first embodiment of the smoking device in the form of a smoking bong is disclosed. The invention comprises a detachable head 2 which consists of a mouthpiece at the upper end 1, and on which the user's lips are placed during the inhalation of smoking substances, a silicone ring 3 a around the opposite end which seals the head tightly to the bottom piece 4 of the smoking device and prevents the head and bottom pieces from slipping off, the bottom piece 4 which serves as the base of the device also consisting of a silicone ring 3 b which seals to the head of the device, and a bowl 5 in which a smoking substance is placed before it is ignited for inhalation. The silicone rings 3 a and 3 b seal tightly to each other and are able to withhold high heat; hence, facilitating the suction needed to inhale the substance through the mouthpiece 1 of the device. FIG. 2 discloses the detached head from the bottom piece.
  • In FIG. 4, the second embodiment of the smoking device in the form of a smoking dab rig is disclosed. The invention comprises a detachable head 7 which consists of a mouthpiece 6 at the upper end, and on which the user's lips are placed during the inhalation of smoking substances, a silicone ring 8 a around the opposite end which seals the head tightly to the bottom piece 9 of the smoking device and prevents the head and bottom pieces from slipping off, the bottom piece 9 which serves as the base of the device also consisting of a silicone ring 8 b which seals to the head of the device, and a bowl 10 in which a smoking substance is placed before it is ignited for inhalation. The silicone rings on the head and the bottom piece seal tightly to each other and are able to withhold high heat; hence, aiding the suction needed to inhale the substance through the mouthpiece of the device. FIG. 4 discloses the detached head from the bottom piece.
  • In FIG. 7, the third embodiment of the smoking device in the form of a smoking bubbler is disclosed. The invention comprises a detachable head 12 which consists of a mouthpiece at the upper end 11, and on which the user's lips are placed during the inhalation of smoking substances, a silicone ring 13 a around the opposite end which seals the head tightly to the bottom piece 14 of the smoking device and prevents the head and bottom pieces from slipping off, the bottom piece 14 which serves as the base of the device also consisting of a silicone ring 13 b which seals to the head of the device, and a bowl 15 in which a smoking substance is placed before it is ignited for inhalation. The silicone rings on the head and the bottom piece seal tightly to each other and are able to withhold high heat; hence, facilitating the suction needed to inhale the substance through the mouthpiece of the device. FIG. 6 discloses the detached head from the bottom piece.
  • In FIG. 10, the fourth embodiment of the smoking device in the form of a smoking pipe is disclosed. The invention comprises a detachable mouthpiece end 17 which consists of a mouthpiece at one end 16 on which the user's lips are placed during the inhalation of smoking substances, a silicone ring 18 a around the opposite end which seals tightly to the bottom piece 20 of the smoking device and prevents the mouthpiece end and bottom pieces from slipping off, the bottom piece 20 consists of another silicone ring 18 b around the opening which seals to the mouthpiece end of the device, and a bowl 19 in which a smoking substance is placed before it is ignited for inhalation. The silicone rings on the mouthpiece end and the bottom piece seal tightly to each other and are able to withhold high heat; hence, facilitating the suction needed to inhale the substance through the mouthpiece of the device.
  • In FIGS. 3, 6, 9, and 12 the twist version of each embodiment of the present invention is disclosed. The only difference between this version and the regular version is the twist located on the outer surface of one of the silicone rings and the inner surface of the second silicone ring. Every other part of the invention remains the same as the regular version.
  • HOW THE INVENTION IS USED
  • The invention is used by putting a smoking substance into the bowl, the substance is ignited and the smoke is inhaled from the bowl through the bottom piece along the tube head to the mouthpiece before it is inhaled into the lungs. After use, the device can be easily cleaned of dirt/smoke residue buildup by detaching the head/mouthpiece end from the bottom piece. In the case of the regular embodiments, the two pieces of the device are fitted into each other with the aid of the silicone rings on the ends of each piece. On the other hand, the twist version is assembled by screwing the head piece (mouthpiece end in the case of the pipe) into the bottom piece.
