Abstract

An intermediate component has a rectilinear configuration with a chamber there within. The chamber has a size removably receiving the magnet. The intermediate component has a front opening with a front circumference less than the magnet circumference. The intermediate component has a rear opening with a rear circumference greater than the magnetic circumference. The intermediate component has slots on opposite sides of the chamber for the passage of the straps.
Description
- The present invention relates to a cigar support system and more particularly pertains to securely holding a cigar and for removably positioning the cigar at an elevated position during a round of golf.
- The use of golfing aids is known in the prior art. More specifically, golfing aids previously devised and utilized for the purpose of holding accessories are known to consist basically of familiar, expected, and obvious structural configurations, notwithstanding the myriad of designs encompassed by the crowded prior art which has been developed for the fulfillment of countless objectives and requirements.
- While known devices fulfill their respective, particular objectives and requirements, the known patents do not describe a cigar support system that allows securely holding a cigar and for removably positioning the cigar at an elevated position during a round of golf.
- In this respect, the cigar support system according to the present invention substantially departs from the conventional concepts and designs of the prior art, and in doing so provides an apparatus primarily developed for the purpose of securely holding a cigar and for removably positioning the cigar at an elevated position during a round of golf.
- Therefore, it can be appreciated that there exists a continuing need for a new and improved cigar support system which can be used for securely holding a cigar and for removably positioning the cigar at an elevated position during a round of golf. In this regard, the present invention substantially fulfills this need.
- In view of the disadvantages inherent in the known types of golfing aids now present in the prior art, the present invention provides an improved cigar support system. As such, the general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a new and improved cigar support system and method which has all the advantages of the prior art and none of the disadvantages.
- To attain this, the present invention comprises a strap for supporting a cigar, and a magnet for coupling to a golf club, and an intermediate component between the strap and the magnet.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the invention in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are, of course, additional features of the invention that will be described herein after and which will form the subject matter of the claims attached.
- In this respect, before explaining at least one embodiment of the invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of descriptions and should not be regarded as limiting.
- As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be utilized as a basis for the designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present invention. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regarded as including such equivalent constructions insofar as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
- It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved cigar support system which has all of the advantages of the prior art golfing aids and none of the disadvantages.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide a new and improved cigar support system which may be easily and efficiently manufactured and marketed.
- It is further object of the present invention to provide a new and improved cigar support system which is of durable and reliable constructions.
- An even further object of the present invention is to provide a new and improved cigar support system which is susceptible of a low cost of manufacture with regard to both materials and labor, and which accordingly is then susceptible of low prices of sale to the consuming public, thereby making such cigar support system economically available to the buying public.
- Even still another object of the present invention is to provide a cigar support system for securely holding a cigar and for removably positioning the cigar at an elevated position during a round of golf.
- Lastly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved cigar support system including a strap having first and second ends with upper and a lower edges. The strap has interior and exterior surfaces with hook and loop fasteners whereby the strap may be removably wrapped around the cigar. A magnet has a rectilinear configuration with inner and outer faces and with a rectangular magnet periphery. The magnet periphery has a magnet circumference. An intermediate component has a rectilinear configuration with a chamber there within. The chamber has a size removably receiving the magnet. The intermediate component has a front opening with a front circumference less than the magnet circumference. The intermediate component has a rear opening with a rear circumference greater than the magnetic circumference. The intermediate component has slots on opposite sides of the chamber for the passage of the straps.
- These together with other objects of the invention, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the invention, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- For a better understanding of the invention, its operating advantages and the specific objects attained by its uses, reference should be had to the accompanying drawings and descriptive matter in which there is illustrated preferred embodiments of the invention.
- The invention will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

- With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIG. 1 thereof, the preferred embodiment of the new and improved cigar support system embodying the principles and concepts of the present invention and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - The present invention, the cigar support system, is comprised of a plurality of components. In their broadest context such components are individually configured and correlated with respect to each other so as to attain the desired objective.
- From a broad view point, the present invention is a cigar support system including a strap having first and second ends with upper and a lower edges. The strap has interior and exterior surfaces with hook and loop fasteners whereby the strap may be removably wrapped around the cigar. A magnet has a rectilinear configuration with inner and outer faces and with a rectangular magnet periphery. The magnet periphery has a magnet circumference. An intermediate component has a rectilinear configuration with a chamber there within. The chamber has a size removably receiving the magnet. The intermediate component has a front opening with a front circumference less than the magnet circumference. The intermediate component has a rear opening with a rear circumference greater than the magnetic circumference. The intermediate component has slots on opposite sides of the chamber for the passage of the straps.
- More specifically, the preferred embodiment is a
cigar support system 10 is for securely holding acigar 11 and for removably positioning the cigar at an elevated position on agolf club 12 during a round of golf. The securely holding and the removably positioning are done in a safe, convenient, and economical manner. - The system includes, in combination, a
strap 14 having afirst end 16 and asecond end 18 separated by a strap length and with anintermediate extent 20 between the first end and the second end. The strap has anupper edge 22 and alower edge 24 separated by a strap height. The first end of the strap is cut to form an acute angle. The second end of the strap is cut at a right angle with respect to the upper edge and the lower edge. The strap has aninterior surface 26 and anexterior surface 28. - Hook and
loop fasteners 29 are on the interior surface and on the exterior surface whereby the strap may be removably wrapped around the cigar with the first end overlapping the second end. Such arrangement of the coupled strap ends facilitates the tactile locating of the strap ends when coupling and uncoupling the strap with respect to a cigar. It also ensures a more secure coupling of the strap ends when holding a cigar. - Next provided is a
magnet 30 having a generally rectilinear configuration with aninner face 32 and anouter face 34 and with a rectangularmagnetic periphery 36 between the inner face and the outer face. The magnet periphery has a magnet circumference. - Lastly provided is an
intermediate component 40 having a rectilinear configuration with achamber 42 there within. The chamber has a size to removably receive the magnet. The intermediate component has afront opening 44 with a front circumference less than the magnet circumference to preclude passage of the magnet there through. The intermediate component has a rear opening with a rear circumference greater than the magnet circumference to allow passage of the magnet there through. The intermediate component has laterally spacedslots 46 on opposite sides of the chamber for the passage of the strap there through for retaining the magnet in the chamber. - The strap and magnet and intermediate component are devoid of an adhesive. The magnet thus effectively floats with respect to the strap and intermediate component for a more secure and comfortable coupling.
- As to the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided.
- With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
Claims (5)
1. A cigar handling system including a strap having first and second ends, the strap having upper and a lower edges, the strap having interior and an exterior surfaces, hook and loop fasteners on the interior and exterior surfaces whereby the strap may be removably wrapped around the cigar;
a magnet having a rectilinear configuration with inner and outer faces and with a rectangular magnet periphery, the magnet periphery having a magnet circumference; and
an intermediate component having a rectilinear configuration with a chamber there within, the chamber having a size removably receiving the magnet, the intermediate component having a front opening with a front circumference less than the magnet circumference, the intermediate component having a rear opening with a rear circumference greater than the magnetic circumference, the intermediate component having laterally spaced slots on opposite sides of the chamber for the passage of the strap there through.
2. The system as set forth in claim 1 wherein the first end of the strap is cut to form an acute angle and the second end of the strap is cut to form a right angle with respect to the upper and lower edges.
3. The system as set forth in claim 2 wherein the first end overlaps the second end during use.
4. The system as set forth in claim 1 and further including a cigar encompassed by the strap, and further including a golf club shaft magnetically supporting to magnet

A cigar handling system (10) for securely holding a cigar (11) and for removably positioning the cigar at an elevated position on a golf club (12) during a round of golf, the securely holding and the removably positioning being done in a safe, convenient, and economical manner, the system comprising, in combination:
a strap (14) having a first end (16) and a second end (18) separated by a strap length and with an intermediate extent (20) between the first end and the second end, the strap having an upper edge (22) and a lower edge (24) separated by a strap height, the first end of the strap being cut to form an acute angle, the second end of the strap being cut at a right angle with respect to the upper edge and the lower edge, the strap having an interior surface (26) and an exterior surface (28), hook and loop fasteners (29) on the interior surface and in the exterior surface whereby the strap may be removably wrapped around the cigar with the first end overlapping the second end;
a magnet (30) having a generally rectilinear configuration with an inner face (32) and an outer face (34) and with a rectangular magnet periphery (36) between the inner face and the outer face, the magnet periphery having a magnet circumference; and
an intermediate component (40) having a rectilinear configuration with a chamber there (42) within, the chamber having a size to removably receive the magnet, the intermediate component having a front opening (44) with a front circumference less than the magnet circumference to preclude passage of the magnet there through, the intermediate component having a rear opening with a rear circumference greater than the magnetic circumference to allow passage of the magnet there through, the intermediate component having laterally spaced slots (46) on opposite sides of the chamber for the passage of the strap there through for retaining the magnet in the chamber.
