Abstract
The present invention discloses a pocket for temporary attachment primarily to the lining of a woman's blazer. The pocket is attached due to pressure sensitive adhesive layers located on its rear panel. The pocket can be adjusted or relocated to another surface because the adhesive layers are stacked in a single array and the layers are detachable from the array.
Description
- This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 62/689,294, filed on Jun. 25, 2018, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety.
- The present invention generally relates to a temporary adhesive pocket.
- A pocket provides a means to carry useful items. However women's blazers, a common garment, are commonly produced without interior lining pockets. Conventional solutions to this problem have included: a pocket designed to be sewn into the lining or a means to permanently affix a pocket without stitching.
- The object of the present invention is to provide a pocket that can be adhered to the interior lining of a woman's blazer, which thereafter can be adjusted or relocated to another surface. It is another object of the present invention that the pocket could also be adhered to the inside of a handbag, briefcase, laptop bag, or tote bag that is without adequate or conveniently placed pockets. The present invention is shaped like a conventional pocket having a top, bottom, sides, front and rear panels. The pocket is shaped to hold a variety of personal items including a mobile phone. The pocket is securely attached to the interior lining of the user's garment due to pressure sensitive adhesive layers which are located on the rear panel. However, the pocket can be adjusted or relocated to another surface because the adhesive layers on the back panel are not permanently binding. The adhesive layers are uniformly aligned in a single array and each layer is removable by peeling it away at the corner. The underlying layer will expose a fresh layer of adhesive so that the pocket may be used on another surface. Another object of the present invention is to prolong the effective use of the pocket. The array of adhesive layers extends the effective longevity of the pocket. The array will include twelve or fewer adhesive layers and each layer is marked to indicate how many layers remain in the array.
- A preferred embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a view of the invention from the front. -
FIG. 2 is a view of the invention from the rear which displays the uniformly stacked array of adhesive layers. -
FIG. 3 is a sectional view of the invention. -
FIG. 1 displays the present invention, in the preferred embodiment, from the front view. The front panel 1 is made of an opaque material and its exterior will appear in a variety of hues. The front panel 1 is formed to haveequal length sides 2 and 3 that are parallel to each other and measure approximately 6.5″. The bottom edge 5 of the pocket is sealed and shall measure approximately 3.5″. Thetop edge 6 is open and provides access to the interior of the pocket 4. -
FIG. 2 displays the present invention, in the preferred embodiment, from the rear view. Therear panel 11 is made of the same material as the front panel 1. Therear panel 11 has identical dimensions to the front panel 1. Theadhesive layer 7 is affixed to therear panel 11 and includes a pressure sensitive adhesive area 9. The adhesive area 9 is rectangular shaped and is centered upon theadhesive layer 7 such that auniform border 12 is formed around the adhesive area 9. - The
adhesive layer 7 includes anonadhesive surface 8 on one side, which is opposite to the adhesive area 9. Thenonadhesive surface 8 has the same dimensions of therear panel 11. Theadhesive layer 7 is stacked into a single uniform array of twelve or fewer layers. Theadhesive layer 7 can be removed from the array by peeling it away, starting along theuniform border 12. Theadhesive layer 7 includes amark 10 that indicates how many layers remain in the array. -
FIG. 3 displays the sectional view of the present invention. The front panel 1 is featured to the left while the array ofadhesive layers 14 is to the right. The interior of the pocket is represented at 4. - It will be appreciated to those skilled in the art that various modifications and changes to the disclosed may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Thus, it is intended that the present invention covers the modifications and variations disclosed above provided that these changes come within the scope of the claims and their equivalents.

wherein the opaque material, in this configuration, displays a front and rear exterior panel;
wherein the rear exterior panel has pressure-sensitive adhesive layers affixed to it and the adhesive layers have the same dimensions of the rear panel;
wherein the adhesive layers are comprised of two sides, a nonadhesive surface side and a side with an adhesive area;
wherein the adhesive area is centered upon the adhesive layer such that there is a uniform border around the perimeter of the adhesive area by the edges of the adhesive layer.
2. The pocket of claim 1 wherein the adhesive layers are stacked in a single array of twelve or fewer layers.
