  • The disclosure and prior art relates to training devices and more particularly pertains to a new training device for practicing cutting and trimming hair.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a mannequin that has a pedestal and a head that is mounted on the pedestal. The pedestal is positioned on a support surface thereby facilitating the head to be accessible to a user. A plurality of hairs each extends outwardly through the head and each of the hairs is manipulated for cosmetology training. Each of the hairs is selectively urged away from the head to increase a length of the hairs for cutting or trimming for cosmetology training.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective in-use view of a cosmetology training assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is a front phantom view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a back phantom view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is a right side phantom view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 5 is a perspective phantom view of an alternative embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 6 is a cross sectional view taken along line 6-6 of FIG. 3 of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new training device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the cosmetology training assembly 10 generally comprises a mannequin 12 that has a pedestal 14 and a head 16 that is mounted on the pedestal 14. The pedestal 14 is positioned on a support surface 18, such as a desk or the like, thereby facilitating the head 16 to be accessible to a user. The head 16 is hollow and the head 16 has a plurality of apertures 20 extending into an interior of the head 16. The apertures 20 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed around a back side 22 of the head 16, a top side 24 of the head 16, a first lateral side 26 of the head 16 and a second lateral side 28 of the head 16 to simulate a hair pattern of a human head 16. In an alternative embodiment 30 as shown in FIG. 5, the apertures 20 may be distributed along a face of the mannequin 12 to simulate a beard pattern of a male.
  • A plurality of spools 32 is provided and each of the spools 32 is rotatably positioned within the mannequin 12. Each of the spools 32 is rotatably coupled to an inside surface 34 of the head 16 and each of the spools 32 is selectively urged to rotate in a first direction. The spools 32 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed around the simulated hair pattern defined by the apertures 20.
  • A plurality of hairs 36 is provided and each of the hairs 36 is wrapped around an associated one of the spools 32. Additionally, each of the hairs 36 extends outwardly through the head 16. In this way each of the hairs 36 may be manipulated for cosmetology training. Each of the hairs 36 is selectively urged away from the head 16 to increase a length of the hairs 36. Thus, the hairs 36 may be cut or trimmed for cosmetology training. Each of the hairs 36 extends through an associated one of the apertures 20 in the head 16. Additionally, each of the hairs 36 may be a synthetic wig hair, a natural wig hair and any other type of wig hair.
  • In use, the mannequin 12 is manufactured with the hairs 36 wrapped around the spools 32 and extending outwardly through the apertures 20. The pedestal 14 is placed on the support surface 18 and each of the hairs 36 is urged outwardly from the head 16 to a selected length. Thus, each of the hairs 36 may be trimmed and cut during cosmetology training. Each of the hairs 36 has a length of at least 2.0 meters thereby facilitating each of the hairs 36 to be cut and trimmed multiple times. In this way the mannequin 12 facilitates multiple training sessions for cutting and styling hair.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
