Abstract
A body covering garment for use after water exposure includes a shell that is substantially complementary to a body of a user. A slit is positioned in a front of the shell and is configured to insert the body of the user into the shell. The slit extends from proximate to a waistline to a neckline of the shell. An aperture that is positioned in the shell extends from the front to a back of the shell between legs of the shell. The aperture is configured to allow urination and defecation by the user. A panel that is complementary to the aperture is selectively couplable to the shell to close the aperture. A hood is coupled to and extends from the neckline. The hood is configured to position over the head of the user such that a face of the user is substantially exposed.

- The disclosure and prior art relates to garments and more particularly pertains to a new garment for use after water exposure.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a shell that is substantially complementary to a body of a user. A slit is positioned in a front of the shell and is configured to insert the body of the user into the shell. The slit extends from proximate to a waistline to a neckline of the shell. An aperture that is positioned in the shell extends from the front to a back of the shell between legs of the shell. The aperture is configured to allow urination and defecation by the user. A panel that is complementary to the aperture is selectively couplable to the shell to close the aperture. A hood is coupled to and extends from the neckline. The hood is configured to position over the head of the user such that a face of the user is substantially exposed.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 5 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new garment embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , thebody covering garment 10 generally comprises ashell 12 that defines aninterior space 14. Theshell 12 is substantially complementary to a body of a user. Theshell 12 comprises cloth so that theshell 12 is water absorbent. In one embodiment, theshell 12 comprises terrycloth. Theshell 12 defines a pair ofsleeves 16. In another embodiment, eachsleeve 16 is flared adjacent to acuff 18 of thesleeve 16. Theshell 12 also defines a pair ofpockets 20. Eachpocket 20 is configured to allow insertion of a respective foot of the user. In another embodiment, thepockets 20 are padded. - Each of a pair of
grips 22 is coupled to abottom surface 24 of arespective pocket 20. Thegrips 22 are configured to deter slippage of the feet of the user. - A
slit 26 is positioned in afront 28 of theshell 12. Theslit 26 extends from proximate to awaistline 30 to aneckline 32 of theshell 12. Theslit 26 is configured to allow insertion of the body of the user into theinterior space 14. Each of a pair offlaps 34 is coupled to and extends from a respectiveopposing edge 36 of theslit 26. Theflaps 34 are configured to overlap to close theslit 26. - An
aperture 38 is positioned in theshell 12. Theaperture 38 extends from thefront 28 to aback 40 of theshell 12 betweenlegs 42 of theshell 12. Theaperture 38 is substantially hourglass shaped. Theaperture 38 is configured to allow urination and defecation by the user. Apanel 44 that is complementary to theaperture 38 is selectively couplable to theshell 12 to close theaperture 38. - A
first coupler 46 is coupled to theshell 12 proximate to theaperture 38. Asecond coupler 48 is coupled to aperimeter 50 of thepanel 44. Thesecond coupler 48 is complementary to thefirst coupler 46. Thesecond coupler 48 is positioned to selectively couple to thefirst coupler 46 to couple thepanel 44 to theshell 12 to close theaperture 38. In one embodiment, thefirst coupler 46 and thesecond coupler 48 comprises azipper 52. - A
hood 54 is coupled to and extends from theneckline 32. Thehood 54 is configured to position over the head of the user so that a face of the user is substantially exposed. In one embodiment, thehood 54 is volumetrically larger than the head of the user so that thehood 54 is configured to position hair of the user. - Each of a pair of
straps 56 is coupled to and extends from acircumference 58 of thehood 54. Thestraps 56 are substantially opposingly positioned on thecircumference 58. Thestraps 56 are configured to be knotted to position thestraps 56 along a hairline of the user to prevent water from dripping in eyes of the user. - A plurality of
loops 60 is coupled to theshell 12 proximate to thewaistline 30. Theloops 60 are substantially evenly spaced along thewaistline 30. Abelt 62 is positioned through theloops 60. Thebelt 62 is configured to be tightened and knotted to secure theshell 12 to a waist of the user. - In use, the
slit 26 is configured to allow insertion of the body of the user into theinterior space 14. Theflaps 34 are configured to overlap to close theslit 26. Thegrips 22 are configured to deter slippage of the feet of the user. Theaperture 38 is configured to allow urination and defecation by the user. Thesecond coupler 48 is positioned to selectively couple to thefirst coupler 46 to couple thepanel 44 to theshell 12 to close theaperture 38. Thehood 54 is configured to position over the head of the user. The face of the user is substantially exposed. Thestraps 56 that are positioned on thehood 54 are configured to be knotted to position thestraps 56 along the hairline of the user to prevent the water from dripping in the eyes of the user. Thebelt 62 that is positioned though theloops 60 is configured to be tightened and knotted to secure theshell 12 to the waist of the user. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
Claims (13)
1. A body covering garment comprising:
a shell defining an interior space, said shell being substantially complementary to a body of a user;
a slit positioned in a front of said shell, said slit extending from proximate to a waistline to a neckline of said shell;
an aperture positioned in said shell, said aperture extending from said front to a back of said shell between legs of said shell such that said aperture is substantially hourglass shaped;
a panel complementary to said aperture, said panel being selectively couplable to said shell for closing said aperture;
a hood coupled to and extending from said neckline;
a pair of straps coupled to and extending from a circumference of said hood, said circumference defining a face opening of said hood, said straps being positioned on said hood extending from said circumference, each of said straps extending from a respective lateral side of an upper half of said circumference wherein said straps are configured for knotting across said face opening to position said straps along a hairline of the user for preventing water from dripping in eyes of the user; and
wherein said slit is positioned in said shell such that said slit is configured for inserting the body of the user into said interior space, wherein said aperture is positioned in said shell such that said aperture is configured for allowing urination and defecation by the user, wherein said hood is positioned on said shell such that said hood is configured for positioning over the head of the user such that a face of the user is substantially exposed.
2. The garment of claim 1 , further including said shell comprising cloth such that said shell is water absorbent.
3. The garment of claim 2 , further including said shell comprising terrycloth.
4. The garment of claim 1 , further including said shell defining a pair of sleeves, each said sleeve being flared adjacent to a cuff of said sleeve.
5. The garment of claim 1 , further including said shell defining a pair of pockets, each said pocket being configured for inserting a respective foot of the user, said pockets being padded.
6. The garment of claim 5 , further including a pair of grips, each said grip being coupled to a bottom surface of a respective said pocket, wherein said grips are positioned on said shell such that said grips are configured for deterring slippage of the feet of the user.
7. The garment of claim 1 , further including a pair of flaps, each said flap being coupled to and extending from a respective opposing edge of said slit, wherein said flaps are positioned on said shell such that said flaps are configured for overlapping for closing said slit.
8. The garment of claim 1 , further comprising:
a first coupler coupled to said shell proximate to said aperture;
a second coupler coupled to a perimeter of said panel, said second coupler being complementary to said first coupler; and
wherein said second coupler is positioned on said panel such that said second coupler is positioned for selectively coupling to said first coupler for coupling said panel to said shell for closing said aperture.
9. The garment of claim 8 , further including said first coupler and said second coupler comprising a zipper.
10. The garment of claim 1 , further including said hood being volumetrically larger than the head of the user such that said hood is configured for positioning hair of the user.

12. The garment of claim 1 , further comprising:
a plurality of loops coupled to said shell proximate to said waistline, said loops being substantially evenly spaced along said waistline;
a belt positioned through said loops; and
wherein said belt is positioned though said loops such that said belt is configured for tightening and knotting for securing said shell to a waist of the user.
13. A body covering garment comprising:
a shell defining an interior space, said shell being substantially complementary to a body of a user, said shell comprising cloth such that said shell is water absorbent, said shell comprising terrycloth, said shell defining a pair of sleeves, each said sleeve being flared adjacent to a cuff of said sleeve, said shell defining a pair of pockets, each said pocket being configured for inserting a respective foot of the user, said pockets being padded;
a pair of grips, each said grip being coupled to a bottom surface of a respective said pocket, wherein said grips are positioned on said shell such that said grips are configured for deterring slippage of the feet of the user;
a slit positioned in a front of said shell, said slit extending from proximate to a waistline to a neckline of said shell, wherein said slit is positioned in said shell such that said slit is configured for inserting the body of the user into said interior space;
a pair of flaps, each said flap being coupled to and extending from a respective opposing edge of said slit, wherein said flaps are positioned on said shell such that said flaps are configured for overlapping for closing said slit;
an aperture positioned in said shell, said aperture extending from said front to a back of said shell between legs of said shell such that said aperture is substantially hourglass shaped, wherein said aperture is positioned in said shell such that said aperture is configured for allowing urination and defecation by the user;
a panel complementary to said aperture, said panel being selectively couplable to said shell for closing said aperture;
a first coupler coupled to said shell proximate to said aperture;
a second coupler coupled to a perimeter of said panel, said second coupler being complementary to said first coupler, wherein said second coupler is positioned on said panel such that said second coupler is positioned for selectively coupling to said first coupler for coupling said panel to said shell for closing said aperture, said first coupler and said second coupler comprising a zipper;
a hood coupled to and extending from said neckline, wherein said hood is positioned on said shell such that said hood is configured for positioning over the head of the user such that a face of the user is substantially exposed, said hood being volumetrically larger than the head of the user such that said hood is configured for positioning hair of the user;
a pair of straps coupled to and extending from a circumference of said hood, said circumference defining a face opening of said hood, said straps being positioned on said hood extending from said circumference, each of said straps extending from a respective lateral side of an upper half of said circumference wherein said straps are configured for knotting across said face opening to position said straps along a hairline of the user for preventing water from dripping in eyes of the user;
a plurality of loops coupled to said shell proximate to said waistline, said loops being substantially evenly spaced along said waistline;
a belt positioned through said loops, wherein said belt is positioned though said loops such that said belt is configured for tightening and knotting for securing said shell to a waist of the user; and
wherein said slit is positioned in said shell such that said slit is configured for inserting the body of the user into said interior space, wherein said flaps are positioned on said shell such that said flaps are configured for overlapping for closing said slit, wherein said grips are positioned on said shell such that said grips are configured for deterring slippage of the feet of the user, wherein said aperture is positioned in said shell such that said aperture is configured for allowing urination and defecation by the user, wherein said second coupler is positioned on said panel such that said second coupler is positioned for selectively coupling to said first coupler for coupling said panel to said shell for closing said aperture, wherein said hood is positioned on said shell such that said hood is configured for positioning over the head of the user such that the face of the user is substantially exposed, wherein said straps are positioned on said hood such that said straps are configured for knotting for positioning said straps along the hairline of the user for preventing the water from dripping in the eyes of the user, wherein said belt is positioned though said loops such that said belt is configured for tightening and knotting for securing said shell to the waist of the user.
