  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention
  • This invention relates to frames used to mount and display pictures, photographs, certificates, documents, or the like, and more specifically to three dimensional framed display and 3D picture frame.
  • (2) Background
  • Picture frames are commonly used to mount, display, and protect pictures or documents. Most picture frames are comprised of an outside margin that borders the photograph or document, a transparent pane or sheet that fits within the outside margin and which serves to protect the photograph or document, and one or more back plates. The photograph or document is mounted by the removal of the one or more back plates, the insertion of the picture or document behind the transparent pane or sheet, the placement of the back plate over the backside of the picture or document, and the securing of the back plate in place. The transparent pane or sheet, the photograph or document, and the one or more back plates typically will fit into a recess in the outside margin.
  • It is often desired to replace the content within the picture frame with new content. For wooden frames, this operation is accomplished by removing the brads or nails. For metal frames, this operation is accomplished by bending the metal tabs up and away from the backing sheet or backing board. After the new content is placed in a wooden frame, brads or nails are pounded back into the wooden frame to secure the content. After the content is placed in a metal frame, the tabs of the metal frame are bent downwardly against the backing sheet or board to secure the content within the frame.
  • A disadvantage with conventional wooden frames is that pounding brads or nails into the wood is tedious and often leads to bent nails or brads and bruised thumbs when the tack hammer strikes the nail obliquely or misses the nail completely and strikes the hand of the user. A disadvantage with metal frames that have metal tabs is that bending the metal tabs to change the content cold works the metal and makes it brittle. Accordingly, metal tabs may soon break off, and the frame will thereby eventually become unusable. Another disadvantage is that these operations are time consuming. The operations of inserting, securing, and replacing the content are cumbersome and do not afford quick and easy access to the content.
  • Numerous securing devices are on the market for securing picture frames into an aligned position. These devices have numerous drawbacks. One such device, for example, includes double-adhesive tape strips that are secured to the back of the main frame and to the wall for securing the picture frame into position. The problem with this arrangement is that it is difficult to temporarily dismount the picture frame and remount the picture frame in an aligned position. It would be necessary to obtain new securing pads and replace the old ones with the new ones any time the picture frame is moved.
  • To address these problems and to overcome the shortcomings of conventional picture frames, a configurable modular picture frame is provided. An objective of the present invention is to provide an improved picture frame that has the ability to rapidly change the content, readily reconfigure for mounting on vertical or horizontal outer face of the frame, and reorient. A related objective is to provide a picture frame that has a quick connect and quick disconnect mechanism for inserting, securely retaining, and easily removing content with a minimum amount of effort. Accordingly, it is another objective of the present invention to provide a picture frame that does not require the use of brads, nails, metal tabs, wedges, or clumsy clamps for holding content in place.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The detailed descriptions below are designed to make such embodiments obvious to a person of ordinary skill in the art.
  • The present invention achieves its objectives and addresses the shortcomings of the conventional picture frames in a variety of ways. When all of these objects are considered together, it becomes necessary to break the picture frame into components such that its parts can be separated from each other, if and when desired, and subsequently reattached, possibly in a different configuration. The picture frame of the present invention has a number of rapidly separable pieces, including a rapidly removable part to access the content and provide the desired quick-change feature. There are a number of components that make up the picture frame, and each of these can be treated separately or, alternatively, as part of a subassembly. Prefabricated subassemblies can use any is mechanism of permanent attachment, but the individually separable components must have a mechanism of attachment that is neither permanent nor difficult to separate.
  • The present invention is directed to an arrangement for displaying 3D photos and/or artwork on an outer face of the frame. The arrangement comprises of a photo and/or an artwork with an attaching mechanism and a photo frame having a plurality of sides and/or theme. The attaching mechanism the photo frame uses magnet, the frame comprises of a front face, rear face, and a surface for attaching the photos and/or artwork to the frame, further the frame is composed of cold-rolled steel or other metallic magnetic material.
  • In one embodiment of the current invention, the 3D frame has a moving Salmon fish as the first content is a plane background picture and the third content includes one or more floating pictures of the salmon eggs positioned at the bottom of the frame.
  • The 3D picture frame of the present invention includes a molded frame body that is made of metal, Porcelain, glass, plastic or wood would have EZ magnetic glued on attachments to hold photos in place provided with these non-metal frames. A plurality of mounting holes is provided to securely mount the frame body on a vertical wall. All above-mentioned contents can be mounted on or removed from this frame body without taking down the frame body from the wall.
  • A flexible background transparent plate is coupled with the background picture to be loaded in the frame body and shaped by the curved back wall to create a 3D effect to the displayed background picture.
  • The 3D picture frame is a frame glass assembly that may be comprised of a molded frame glass and a flexible frame glass or two flexible frame glasses. One or more floating pictures are sandwiched between these two glasses. The frame glass assembly, along with the sandwiched floating pictures, can be placed on the wall-mounted frame body for covering the top opening and the front opening of the frame body. Since the top opening of the frame body is covered only by clear glasses, there will be no shadow cast on the displayed background picture, regardless of the direction of the surrounding light.
  • The FIG. 1 of the current invention shows a 3 D motion frame showing Salmons jumping into and out of the water and giving a 3D effect of water splashing. The figure also shows a layer of Salmon eggs at the bottom of the frame, giving a feel of eggs floating under water. The center part of the frame is the space that can be used for displaying photos, certificates, or, optionally, a poem written on Salmon to compliment the theme.
  • In summary, the 3D framed display of the present invention basically provides the following advantages over the conventional 2D framed display. First, it enriches the contents of a framed display. The second advantage of the present 3D framed display is that it presents a curved background picture and a bottom picture. These two pictures create a vivid 3D presentation not seen before and a world apart from the traditional 2D picture display.
  • The design of the frame of the invention would include many shapes and sizes of the 3D Magnetic EZ Frame. The Circle style frame drawing is one design of the various aspects of size and shape.
