  • All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.
  • The present invention is a hair coloring apparatus that is specifically configured to allow an individual to color their own hair, without going to a professional hairdresser. The present invention utilizes off-scalp coloring technique and is capable of performing a permanent hair coloring type, a demi-permanent hair coloring type, a semi-permanent hair coloring type, and a temporary hair coloring type. In reference to FIG. 1-2, the present invention comprises a hair-color composition tube 1, a cap 6, and an off-scalp brush applicator 9. The cap 6 is connected with the off-scalp brush applicator 9 and protects the coloring agent that is filled within the hair-color composition tube 1. When the present invention is in a closed configuration, the cap 6 seals the hair-color composition tube 1 while the off-scalp brush applicator 9 is positioned within the hair-color composition tube 1. When the present invention is in an opened configuration, the user is able to hold the cap 6 and apply the coloring agent to hair through the off-scalp brush applicator 9.
  • The cap 6 provides two main functionalities within the present invention. More specifically, the cap 6 seals the hair-color composition tube 1 in order to protect the coloring agent within and functions as a handle for the off-scalp brush applicator 9. In reference to FIG. 1-2, the cap 6 comprises a base panel 7 and a lateral panel 8 as the lateral panel 8 is radially connected around the base panel 7. Additionally, an outer surface of the cap 6 can comprise a plurality of grooves that extends from a top end to a bottom end of the lateral panel 8. The plurality of grooves increases friction between the user's hand and the cap 6, when the cap 6 is utilized as a handle for the off-scalp brush applicator 9. As a result, the user is able to improve the handling capabilities of the off-scalp brush applicator 9 when the coloring agent is being applied to the hair. The cap 6 is preferably composed of hard plastic; however, any other types of similar materials can be used as the manufacturing material for the cap 6.
  • The hair-color composition tube 1 stores the coloring agent so that the user is able to cleanly extract the coloring agent through the off-scalp brush applicator 9. In reference to FIG. 1-4, the hair-color composition tube 1 comprises a flexible body 2, a shoulder 3, a neck 4, and a tube compartment 5. More specifically, the shoulder 3 is perimetrically connected to the flexible body 2. The neck 4 is perimetrically connected with the shoulder 3, opposite of the flexible body 2. As a result, the flexible body 2, the shoulder 3, and the neck 4 are in fluid communication with each other in order to delineate the tube compartment 5. The coloring agent is filled within the tube compartment 5, enabling the cap 6 to retain the coloring agent while the off-scalp brush applicator 9 is able to extract the coloring agent. The hair-color composition tube 1 is preferably composed of plastic in order to prevent any kind of chemical reaction between the coloring agent and the hair-color composition tube 1. More specifically, the shoulder 3 and the neck 4 are preferably composed of hard plastic to hold the overall shape of the hair-color composition tube 1. However, the flexible body 2 is preferably composed of flexible plastic so that the user can apply hand pressure or roll up the flexible body 2 to fully discharge the coloring agent from the hair-color composition tube 1. The tube compartment 5 can be sized with different capacities, such as 16 ounce (oz), 24 oz, and 32 oz, so the user is able to select the desired size based upon the necessity of the user.
  • The off-scalp brush applicator 9 allows the user to evenly apply the coloring agent to their hair. The off-scalp brush applicator 9 comprises a base member 10, an elongated shaft 11, and a plurality of bristles 12. In reference to FIG. 2, the base member 10 is concentrically and adjacently connected with the elongated shaft 11. The plurality of bristles 12 is distributed and connected along the elongated shaft 11 and positioned opposite of the base member 10. Additionally, the base member 10 is concentrically and adjacently connected with the cap 6 in order to connect the off-scalp brush applicator 9 to the cap 6. More specifically, the base member 10 is concentrically positioned with the base panel 7 and positioned within the lateral panel 8, wherein the lateral panel 8 is positioned in between the plurality of bristles 12 and the base panel 7. The base member 10 is adjacently connected with the base panel 7. As a result, the user is able to hold the cap 6 by the lateral panel 8 and apply the coloring agent to the hair through the plurality of bristles 12. The length of the elongated shaft 11 positions the user's hand away from the hair in which the coloring agent is applied. In reference to a preferred embodiment of the off-scalp brush applicator 9 that is shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 4, the plurality of bristles 12 is radially positioned around the elongated shaft 11, forming a circular-shaped end for the off-scalp brush applicator 9. The circular-shaped end allows the user to extract maximum amount of coloring agent from the tube compartment 5 while allowing the user to quickly and efficiently cover a large area of hair. In reference to an alternative embodiment of the off-scalp brush applicator 9 that is shown in FIG. 5, the plurality of bristles 12 comprises a first set of bristles 13 and a second set of bristles 14. More specifically, the first set of bristles 13 and the second set of bristles 14 are distributed along the elongated shaft 11 and diametrically opposed of each other, forming a rectangular-shaped end for the off-scalp brush applicator 9. The rectangular-shaped end allows the user to extract minimum amount of coloring agent from the tube compartment 5 while allowing the user to quickly and efficiently cover a specific and small area of hair.
  • In reference to FIG. 4, when the present invention is in the closed configuration, the cap 6 is selectively engaged with the hair-color composition tube 1 while the elongated shaft 11 and the plurality of bristles 12 are positioned within the hair-color composition tube 1. More specifically, the lateral panel 8 is externally positioned around the neck 4 and threadly engaged with the neck 4.
