Description

    INCORPORATION BY REFERENCE
  • The instant application claims the benefit of priority to Korean Patent Application No. 10-2015-0129410 filed in the Korean Intellectual Property Office on Sep. 14, 2015, the entire content of which is hereby incorporated by reference.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a method for making a three-dimensional paper model and a paper model obtained through this method, and more specifically to, a method for making a three-dimensional paper model and a paper model obtained through this method, wherein a paper model can be folded into a curved shape such that the paper model can have the heightened three-dimensional effect of a character, thereby increasing the preference of children.
  • Background Art
  • In general, paper model kits are used for making planar or three-dimensional models of animals or any other various shapes with planar papers by folding and adhering a plurality of paper parts according to a predetermined sequence.
  • The paper models as above are advantageous for the brain development of growing children and young children and helpful for the prevention of senile dementia, and thus have been developed in various aspects.
  • Korean registered utility model No. 20-0285464 and Korean registered patent No. 101254458 have suggested examples of such paper models.
  • Herein, Korean registered utility model No. 20-0285464 discloses a paper model toy, wherein the shape of a character on a development figure is divided into a plurality of parts at joints such that thus divided parts are assembled together and wooden shafts are connected thereto, thereby providing a paper model of which joints are movable.
  • In addition, Korean registered patent No. 101254458 discloses a paper model toy for making a toy model in the shape of an animal with paper, comprising: a planar base paper member; a trunk part paper member having a trunk part, feet parts foldably connected to the both right and left sides of the trunk part and vertically adhered to the top surface part of the base paper member at the outside ends thereof, and a head part supporting part foldably connected to the front end of the trunk part along a first support folding line such that a head part paper member can nod in the back and forth directions, wherein the trunk part, the feet parts and the head part supporting part are all formed on a single piece of paper; and the head part paper member adhered to the head part supporting part and having the face shape of an animal on the front surface part thereof.
  • The above mentioned prior paper model toys have, however, disadvantages that folded parts are formed in an angular shape rather than a curved shape after the assembling thereof is completed such that the finished paper model toys are likely to exhibit crude feeling on the whole and unlikely to heighten the three-dimensional effect of characters, thereby decreasing the sense of real.
  • Therefore, young children and children who normally watch videos displaying characters, such as Pororo, Petty and the like, with the three-dimensional effect through animations and the like on the television, etc. are likely to lose their interest in the paper model toys even though they have made the same.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • Accordingly, the present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior arts, and it is an objective of the present invention to provide a method for making a three-dimensional paper model and a paper model obtained through this method, wherein a paper model can be folded into a curved shape such that the paper model can have the heightened three-dimensional effect of a character, thereby increasing the preference of children to the paper model.
  • In particular, it is another objective of the present invention to provide a method for making a three-dimensional paper model and a paper model obtained through this method, wherein the three-dimensional effect of a paper model for a character, which can be recognized through the images on the television and the like, can be maximized.
  • To accomplish the above objectives, according to the present invention, there is provided a method for making a three-dimensional paper model, comprising: a first step of folding a body part of a main member for a paper model along folding lines; a second step of applying an adhesive agent to a joining part formed at one side of each of a plurality of curve-folding parts, which are partially divided by cut lines along the edge of the body part of the main member; and a third step of joining the joining part of the curve-folding part to the other side rear surface of another adjacent curve-folding part, in a state, in which the curve-folding parts of the main member are curved.
  • Herein, the method for making a three-dimensional paper model, further comprises a fourth step of detaching the main member from a development figure before the first step.
  • In addition, the method for making a three-dimensional paper model further comprises a fifth step of attaching the sub member which is detached from the development figure to the main member after the third step.
  • Further, fitting protrusions formed in the sub member are fitted into slits formed in the body part of the main member in the fifth step.
  • Furthermore, the sub member has a plurality of curve-folding parts divided by cut lines and any one of the curve-folding parts has a joining part such that the curve-folding parts are folded and attached in a state, in which the joining part is applied with an adhesive agent.
  • In addition, the sub member has a joining part formed at one side thereof so as to be attached to the main member in a state, in which an adhesive agent is applied to the joining part in the fifth step.
  • Further, according to the present invention, there is provided a paper model obtained by the making method according to any one of claim 1 to claim 6.
  • Therefore, according to the method for making a three-dimensional paper model and the paper model obtained through this method as above, the curve-folding parts of the main member are curved in the state, in which the joining part formed at one side of each of the plurality of curve-folding parts is applied with the adhesive agent, the plurality of curve-folding parts being partially divided by the cut lines along the edge of the body part of the main member that is the most distinctive feature, such that the joining part of the curve-folding part is joined to the other side rear surface of another adjacent curve-folding part, thereby raising the preference of users to a paper model at the time of making the paper model.
  • In particular, according to the present invention, it is possible to maximize the three-dimensional effect of the distinct features of a character, which has been widely known through the mass media such as television and the like, thereby raising the attachment to a paper model which is made by users themselves.
  • In addition, according to the present invention, it is possible to make a paper model of a character, which is in a complicated shape, similar to the real shape thereof by using a plurality of parts of a main member and increase the preference of users to a three-dimensional model by attaching additional sub members to the main member in various ways.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Reference will be now made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention with reference to the attached drawings. The features and characteristics of a method for making a three-dimensional paper model and a three-dimensional paper model obtained by the method according to the present invention will be apparently understood from the detailed description made in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
  • Referring to FIG. 1 to FIG. 12, a three-dimensional paper model 1 according to the present invention is made by folding a main member into a curved shape so as to heighten the three-dimensional effect in a curved shape.
  • Particularly, according to the present invention, a main member 100 for a paper model is made by folding, for example, a head part 110, a trunk part 120 and the like into approximately curved shapes so as to heighten the three-dimensional effect of a character, wherein a sub member such as arm parts 210, feet parts 220 and the like can be folded in an angular way and simply attached to the main member 100.
  • First, referring to the accompanying drawings, the present invention will be described with reference to a paper model 1 for a character, Petty, who is one of the friends of Pororo. As shown in FIG. 13a to FIG. 13b , a main member 100 can be divided into a head part 110 and a trunk part 102 which represent the distinct features of the character, and a sub member 200 of low visibility can be divided into arm parts 210 and feet parts 220.
  • These members 100, 200 are printed on a paper with various patterns, wherein each part of these members 100, 200 is detached from a development figure along perforated lines so as to be separated from each other and then attached to each other by using an adhesive agent such as wood glue and the like.
  • Hereinafter, the principal constituent elements of the present invention, such as the head part 110 and the trunk part 120 of the main member 100 and the arm parts 210, the feet parts 220 and the like of the sub member 200 which are subordinate to the main member 100 will be described in detail.
  • First, the head part 110 of the main member 100 includes a face part 112 and a hat part 114.
  • The face part 112 include folding lines 112 b formed, extending from the center of a body part 112 a in all directions, and a plurality of curve-folding parts 112 d partially divided by cut lines 112 c along the edge thereof. The plurality of curve-folding parts 112d have joining parts 112e formed at one side of each and applied with an adhesive agent.
  • Of course, the curve-folding parts 112 d can be partially formed with a plurality of such joining parts 112 e at one side of each, wherein it is preferable that the plurality of joining parts 112 e are formed in a cut shape so as to prevent the interference with each other.
  • According to this structure as mentioned above, in a state, in which the joining part 112 e of one side curve-folding part 112 d among the plurality of curve-folding part 112 d is applied with the adhesive agent, the joining part 112 of the one side curve-folding part 112 is joined with the other side rear surface of another one of the curve-folding parts 112 d, which is adjacent to the one side curve-folding part 112 d, such that the joining part 112 e is prevented from being exposed to the outside. If all the adjacent curve-folding parts 112 d are joined together in this manner in a state, in which the curve-folding parts 112 d are smoothly curved but not folded, an overall hemispheric shape is obtained, thereby realizing the smooth three-dimensional effect without roughness owing to the curved surfaces of the overall hemispheric shape.
  • In addition, further sub members 200 such as lips, a beak part and the like can be attached to the center portion of the body part 112 a of the face part 112. A beak part 230 illustrated as an example of such a sub member 200 is formed on the development figure, including joining parts 232 and fitting protrusions 234, wherein the beak part 230 is curved in a round shape and integrally attached by applying the adhesive agent to the joining parts 232 so as to have the three-dimensional effect.
  • In particular, in order to fix the beak part 230 to the face part 112, slits 112 f are formed in the body part 112 a of the face part 112 such that the fitting protrusions 234 of the beak part 230 are fitted into the slits 112 f. Herein, the beak part 230 can have a plurality of fitting protrusions 234 and the fitting protrusions 234 can be fitted into the slits 112 f to be assembled thereinto after opening the slits 112 f by using a tool such as a toothpick and the like.
  • Further, the hat part 114 is formed in a hemispherical shape by continuously attaching a plurality of piece parts 114 a to each other.
  • Each of the piece parts 114 a has a plurality of folding lines 114 b, which are formed in the body part thereof, and a plurality of joining parts 114 c, which are formed at one side thereof and applied with the adhesive agent. Therefore, in a state, in which the joining parts 114 c of one of the piece parts 114 a are applied with the adhesive agent, the joining parts 114 c of the one piece part 114 a are attached to the rear surface of the other end of another piece part 114 a. By repeating a series of this procedure, the hat part 114 a is formed in a hemispherical shape.
  • Of course, a bubble 240 having a joining part 242 formed at one side thereof can be attached as another sub member 200 at one side of the upper portion of thus made hat part 114 by the adhesive agent.
  • Thus finished hat part 114 is made by continuously joining the plurality of piece parts 114 a, wherein one of the piece parts 114, which forms the last edge part, is applied with the adhesive agent on the inside surface thereof so as to be integrally attached to the rear side of the face part 112.
  • Meanwhile, the trunk part 120 which is another example of the main member 100 is made in a cylindrical shape by attaching a joining part 122 b, which is formed at one end of a piece part 122, to the rear surface of the other end.
  • This piece part 122 includes a plurality of folding lines 122 b formed in a body part 122 a thereof and a joining part 122 c formed at the one end thereof and applied with the adhesive agent, wherein the joining part 122 c is attached to the rear surface of the other end of the piece part 122 in a state, in which the joining part 122 c is applied with the adhesive agent, such that the piece part 122 is formed in a cylindrical shape.
  • Herein, the trunk part 120 can use a plurality of piece parts 122 and, in this case, a joining part 122 d formed along the upper end edge of a lower piece part 122′ can be integrally attached to the inner peripheral surface of an upper piece part 122.
  • Of course, it is also possible to integrally attach a fragment piece 124, which has a joining part 122 d formed at the upper end thereof, to the inside of the lower portion of the trunk part 120.
  • Thus made trunk part 120 is integrally joined to the head part 110. In particular, a joining part 112 g exposed to the lower portion of the face part 112 is applied with the adhesive agent and, in this state, can be integrally joined to the upper edge of the inside surface of the trunk part 120.
  • Meanwhile, the trunk part 120 can be attached with the arm parts 210 and the feet parts 220 of the sub member 200. Each of the arm parts 210 includes an arm 212 and a hand 214. As for the arm 212, curve-folding parts 212 b divided by a cut line 212 a are attached together, wherein any one of the curve-folding parts 212 b is formed with a joining part 212 c such that, in a state, in which the joining part 212 c is applied with the adhesive agent, the curve-folding parts 212 b are curvedly folded and attached so as to heighten the three-dimensional effect. The hand 214 can be attached to one end of the arm 212.
  • Herein, the hand 214 has a joining part 214 a formed at one side such that the joining part 214 a is applied with the adhesive agent and thus can be integrally attached to one end of the arm 212. This arm 212 can be attached to the trunk part 120 by applying the adhesive agent to the rear surface of the other end thereof. As an example, two arm parts 210 can be provided even in different shapes from each other so as to be attached to the both sides of the trunk part 120.
  • Meanwhile, each of the feet parts 220 has a joining part 222 formed at one side and can be attached to the trunk part 120. As an example, two feet parts 220 can be provided even in different shapes from each other so as to be attached to the front lower portion of the trunk part 120, wherein the joining parts 222 provided to the feet parts 220 are folded and thus can be attached to the inside surface of the lower portion of the trunk part 120.
  • Hereinafter, the procedure for making a three-dimensional paper model according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 4 to FIG. 12.
  • First, a three-dimensional paper model according to the present invention can be made by detaching the main member 100 and the sub member 200 from the development figure, assembling the same in sequence, and joining the same into a three-dimensional shape, wherein the priorities in the making of each of the main member 100 and the sub member 200 can be determined by a user as desired.

If the arm 212 has the curve-folding parts 212 b, any one of the curve-folding parts 212 b is formed with the joining part 212 c such that the curve-folding parts 212 b are curvedly folded and attached to each other in a state, in which the joining part 212 c is applied with the adhesive agent, thereby heightening the three-dimensional effect.
  • Next, referring to FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 with respect to the making procedure of the face part 112 of the main member 100, the joining part 112 e of any one of the curve-folding parts 112 d, which are adjacent to each other, is applied with the adhesive agent and, in this state, the joining part 112 e of the one curve-folding part 112 d is joined to the other side rear surface of another curve-folding part 112 d, which is adjacent to the one curve-folding part 112 d, such that the joining part 112 e is prevented from being exposed to the outside.
  • Then, as shown in FIG. 7 with respect to the making procedure of the beak part 230 of the sub member 200, which is fixed to the face part 112 of the main member 100, the body part 231 of the beak part 230 is curved in a round shape and then integrally attached by applying the adhesive agent to the joining part 232 thereof, thereby obtaining the three-dimensional effect. The fitting protrusions 234 of the beak part 230 are fitted and assembled into the slits 112 f formed in the body part 112 a of the face part 112 in a state, in which the slits 112 f are opened using a tool such as a toothpick and the like.
  • Next, as shown in FIG. 8 and FIG. 9 with respect to the making procedure of the hat part 114 of the main member 100, the body parts of the plurality of piece parts 114 a are folded along the plurality of folding lines 114 b and, in this state, the plurality of joining parts 114 d are applied with the adhesive agent and then attached to each other in a three-dimensional shape. After that, the joining parts 114 c protruded from the edge parts are attached to the rear surfaces of the other ends of other piece parts 114 a which are in the folded state. By repeating a series of this procedure, the hat part 114 is made in a hemispherical shape.
  • After that, the bubble 240 of the sub member 200 is attached at one side of the upper portion of the hat part 114 by applying the adhesive agent to the joining parts 242 of the bubble 240 and integrally attaching the joining parts 242 of the bubble 240 to the surface of the hat part 114.
  • In addition, as shown in FIG. 10 with respect to the making procedure of the trunk part 120, the plurality of piece parts 122 are folded along the folding lines 122 b formed on the body parts 122 a of the plurality of piece parts 122, and the joining part 122 c at one end is applied with the adhesive agent and then attached to the rear surface of the other end of the body part 122 a, such that the trunk part 120 is made in a cylindrical shape. As for the trunk part 120 made as above, the joining part 112 g exposed to the lower part of the face part 112 is applied with the adhesive agent and, in this state, integrally joined to the upper edge of the inside portion of the trunk part 120.
  • Herein, the trunk part 120 can be made using a plurality of piece parts 122 and, in this case, the joining part 122 d formed along the upper end edge of the lower piece part 122′ can be integrally attached to the inner peripheral surface of the upper piece part 122.
  • Further, as shown in FIG. 11 with respect to the procedure of attaching the arm parts 210 and the feet parts 220 to the trunk part 120, the arm parts 210 of the sub member 200 made as shown in FIG. 4 are attached to the both sides of the trunk part 120 by using the adhesive agent, and the feet parts 220 are integrally attached to the front lower part of the trunk part 120 by applying the adhesive agent to the joining parts 222 formed at each one side of the feet parts 220.
  • Through the above procedure as shown in FIG. 4 to FIG. 11, the three-dimensional paper model 1 as shown in FIG. 12 is finished, and further various characters as shown in FIG. 13a to FIG. 13c can be made into three-dimensional paper models 1′ through the same procedure.
  • Of course, as shown in FIG. 12, further sub members 200 such as a doll 250 can be also attached to the trunk part 120 or the head part 110 and the like.
  • As described above, while the present invention has been particularly shown and described with reference to the example embodiments thereof, it will be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that the above embodiments of the present invention are all exemplified and various changes, modifications and equivalents may be made therein within the technical scope of the present invention defined by the following claims belong to the technical scope of the present invention.
