Abstract

Utility belt system with adjustable and removable bag and pouch is disclosed. The bag and pouch are specifically designed to offer a wide degree of flexibility in that the pouch and bag will accommodate a plurality of items that other more specially or narrowly designed inventions do not offer. The bag and pouch can also be selected in combination or separately and arranged to suit the wearer's product, and/or item choices as well as accommodate work style, habits, methods, and activities.

BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to the field of utility belts.
It continues to be a problem that while organizing, gardening, cleaning, auto detailing, sewing, crafting, or engaged in a variety of other tasks or chores that products and items are not within easy reach; items have to be juggled; no immediate, convenient location to place items until they are needed for use is available; the need to have hands free to move things or climb ladders, or move about freely while engaged in a task, activity, or chore yet still have needed items within easy reach; leaving items behind; misplacing items; backtracking to retrieve needed items.
Utility belts typically have been made for electrical, construction, janitorial, window washing, or other trades or specific activities/uses, but have been designed for the respective narrowly specified purpose thus lack the flexibility of use across a wide spectrum of activities or tasks. Aprons have limiting designs and because they are worn across the front of the body they can easily get in the way possibly creating safety problems such as when climbing, bending, or reaching. Aprons, such as Bucket Boss, Duluth et. al., vests, and utility belt compartments are often too small and flat, too narrowly or specifically designed to contain or hold a plurality of products or items of varying shapes and sizes. Additionally, many utility belt pouches are permanently affixed, e.g., U.S. Pat. No. 5,501,379 A, to the belt not allowing the user to optimally configure to user preferences. Carts, caddies and buckets require constant picking up and/or replacing therefore making them very cumbersome and inconvenient to use, they do not allow the user to have their hands free and/or carrying these up on a ladder can become dangerous because they are holding something in their hands rather than gripping the ladder.
Past and current devices do not offer a design to provide the flexibility, convenience, practical application, or aesthetic appeal that said invention provides across the wide spectrum of uses. Said invention offers itself as the one invention to accommodate a wide variety of uses.
Said invention is an improvement and differs from what currently exists in that it is designed to offer a high degree of flexibility in that said invention will accommodate a plurality of items and/or products of varying sizes and shapes for a wide variety of tasks such as cleaning, gardening, crafting, organizing, auto detailing, sewing, dog walking, cooking, or other tasks that prior utility belts, buckets, carts, or caddies either fail to or inadequately address or provide. Currently existing inventions only offer designs and uses for specific and/or narrow purposes. Among the many items of varying sizes and shapes said invention is used to carry are: spray bottles; rags; sponges; fabric swatches; markers; pens; pencils; dusters; tools; brushes; gloves; baby bottles; baby wipes; auto or furniture wax cans or bottles; vacuum attachments; cooking utensils; spice bottles/containers; cell phones; camera; retractable umbrella; some medical infusion or monitoring devices; salt and pepper shakers; napkins; bottles; cans; dog treats; dog leashes; water bottle; dog toys; cat toys; baseballs; tennis balls; golf balls; and other balls of similar size; children's small toys; knick-knacks; small stones; gun magazines; shotgun shells; binoculars; books; nuts; flashlights; pepper spray; gardening hand tools; gardening seeds and/or their packets; pot holders; other items the wearer wishes to place in the bag and/or pouch.
Said invention allows the wearer to have their hands free when and as needed or desired. Said invention is an improvement and differs from what currently exists in that said invention users do not need to have multiple utility belts, aprons, or caddies to accommodate the variety of uses that said invention provides. Invention components can also be selected and arranged to suit the wearer's style, methods, activities and habits to carry the plurality of products/items said invention will accommodate giving a degree of use flexibility that others lack.
Briefly, the invention comprises an adjustable belt with quick release buckle; a pouch; a bag. The belt which includes an adjustable length strap or belt with quick release buckle, male-female buckle ends that fit into one another to buckle the belt ends together. The bag and/or pouch are suspended and arranged by feeding said belt through the loops of the bag and/or pouch thus allowing the bag and/or pouch to be suspended from the belt and to rest from the hips of a user in whatever configuration and positions the user desires or finds most comfortable and/or useful. Additionally, the pouch or bag can be suspended from the belt in the aforementioned prescribed manner and worn over the shoulder or over the shoulder and across the torso of the user. The pouch and bag may be used together or in combination.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING

FIG. 1 is a front view of the pouch showing the mesh front pocket, the belt loop affixed to the top rear of pouch, horizontal stitching, vertical web strapping on front left of center and right of center.

FIG. 2 is a view of the bottom of the pouch including web strapping left of center and right of center that continues from front to back of pouch.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The preferred embodiment of the invention is as follows. Invention is comprised of pouch FIGS. 1-4, bag FIGS. 5-8, and Belt, FIG. 11 which is to be fed through the loop 13,20 of the pouch and/or bag and arranged in a manner determined most convenient, and relevant to the user's preference for the task, chore, or activity.
The belt is made of nylon webbing, polyester webbing or polypropylene webbing of 1½ to 2 inches in width, with slide 11 to adjust length of belt to wearer, side-release belt buckle 12 consisting of a male and female end that meet to close and open the belt.
The pouch FIG. 1-4, FIG. 9a is four-sided with a bottom as well and formed from a rugged abrasion resistant fabric material that may be coated for water resistance and for the outer pockets a mesh 16, 19 material would be sewn on to the front FIG. 1 and sides FIG. 3 of pouch. Mesh pockets 16,19 would be sewn into corners and into the front and side bottom with top opening of mesh pocket trimmed with binding 15 material folder over and stitched 15. Loop 13 is rugged abrasion material folded over itself with ends sewn together and then sewn into top of pouch Lining of pouch is of abrasion resistant rugged material, that may be coated for water resistance that is sewn to the inside top of pouch shell. Binding 14 is folded over top seams of pouch outer shell, lining and loop attachment area and sewn into place 18. Vertical webbing 17 is sewn onto outer shell of pouch to provide added stability and divide mesh pocket 16, 19 areas.
The bag FIG. 5-8, FIG. 10b , is gusseted and formed from abrasion resistant rugged fabric material that may be coated for water resistance with the outer pocket made of mesh 22 whereby the bottom of mesh is sewn onto the bag using binding 25 material that is sewn through the mesh and the outer shell 25 of bag; the top opening of the mesh pocket would be trimmed with binding 24 material folded over and sewn, this would then be sewn into side seams of outer shell of bag for the sides of the mesh pocket 22. Loop 20 is rugged abrasion resistant material folded over itself with ends sewn together and then sewn into top of bag. Webbing material 23 is sewn onto back and bottom rear half of bag to provide added stability. Lining of bag is of rugged abrasion resistant material, that may be coated for water resistance and is sewn into the inside top of bag outer shell. Binding 21 is folded over top seams of bag outer shell, liner, and loop attachment area and sewn into place.
The invention has been illustrated and described in detail in the drawings and descriptions, however the same is to be considered as illustrative and not restrictive in character understanding that the preferred embodiment has been shown and described and that all changes and modifications that proceed within the spirit of the invention are desired to be protected.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A multipurpose utility belt system comprising:

an adjustable belt with quick release side buckle from which the pouch and/or bag would be suspended.

a multipurpose removable pouch for carrying a plurality of objects of a variety of sizes, shapes, and kinds and made of abrasion resistant durable material that may be coated for water resistance.

a multipurpose removable bag for carrying a plurality of objects of a variety of sizes, shapes, and kinds and made of abrasion resistant durable material that may be coated for water resistance.

2. A multipurpose utility belt system as defined in claim 1 wherein the removable multipurpose the elongated bag has an outer shell with a mesh outer pocket, inner shell lining, and loop through which belt would be fed whereby bag would be suspended a utility belt system as defined in claim 1, wherein the removable multipurpose pouch has an outer shell with several outer pockets situated on the front and sides, an inner shell lining, and loop through which belt would be fed whereby pouch would be suspended.

3. A multipurpose utility belt system as defined in claim 1 wherein:

the bag is elongated and proportioned and sized to support the carrying of a plurality of objects such as, vacuum attachments, some paper towel rolls, rags, sponges, books, baby wipes, binoculars, bottles, toys, balls, flashlights, etc. Outer mesh pocket would accommodate cell phones, or similarly shaped smaller objects

the pouch is proportioned and sized to support the carrying of a plurality of objects such as aerosol cans, spray bottles, personal water bottles, dog treats, leashes, balls, sponges, baby wipes, bibs, rags, seeds, pot holders, spice bottles, etc. Outer mesh pocket would accommodate some cell phones, etc.

and is dimensioned and of sufficient size to hold a plurality of objects such as, vacuum attachments, rags, binoculars, books, bottles, small toys, etc.
