Abstract
An organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items has a top arrangement surface and a rounded lateral wall, forming a tapered cylinder with an inverted bowl type structure. The top arrangement surface is perforated by radially patterned holes. A lower perimetrical edge of the rounded lateral wall is scalloped to resemble a wave shape.
Description
- The current application claims a priority to the U.S. Provisional Patent application Ser. No. 62/108,728 filed on Jan. 28, 2015.
- The present invention relates generally to decoration and organization. More particularly, the present invention relates to arranging multiple items using multiple positions in an item arranger.
- Current methods for securing a design in a vase include messy foams and tapes that are time consuming, not reusable and do not allow for removal of the flowers without disturbing the arrangement and changing the water.
- It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an arranging tool for flowers and similar objects that holds flowers securely inside a vase or container, giving complete design control and stability to the user. The present invention can be removed from the vase while still holding the design in place for purposes of changing or adding water. It allows individuals to arrange flowers like professionals at a fraction of the cost. The present invention can then be reattached to the vase without disturbing the floral design. In addition, the present invention also seals in the water and reduces evaporation encouraging flowers to stay fresher longer. The unique stability of the product allows for more flexible and creative design concepts. It can be customized in many sizes and colors for special occasions or holidays and can be easily branded for company logos. The present invention is perfect for organizing and displaying pens and pencils, craft supplies, cosmetic brushes and products, storing small tools and arranging clutter in the workshop and garage. It can be used to secure small paint brushes for drying and can be cleaned and reused many times. The present invention may also be referred to by the brand name of Budable.

FIG. 2 is a side view of the present invention. - All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. The present invention is to be described in detail and is provided in a manner that establishes a thorough understanding of the present invention. There may be aspects of the present invention that may be practiced without the implementation of some features as they are described. It should be understood that some details have not been described in detail in order to not unnecessarily obscure focus of the invention.
- The present invention is an organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items. The present invention provides the capability to arrange multiple items such as, but not limited to, flowers, pencils, craft supplies, cosmetic brushes and products, small tools or other items within multiple item slots in the top surface of the organizing tool.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 , the present invention generally has an inverted bowl shape and comprises a top arrangement surface 1 and a roundedlateral wall 2. The roundedlateral wall 2 and the top arrangement surface 1 are positioned concentrically and axially adjacent with each other, and are additionally perimetrically connected to each other. The roundedlateral wall 2 further comprises a lowerperimetrical edge 3. The lowerperimetrical edge 3 and the top arrangement surface 1 are positioned axially opposite each other along the roundedlateral wall 2. - In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the entirety of the present invention, including the rounded
lateral wall 2, the top arrangement surface 1 and the lowerperimetrical edge 3 are made of a flexible polymer material, and is a one piece element. The present invention comes in a variety of sizes and colors and each stretches up to 4 times its original size. The shape and material of the present invention makes it flexible enough to easily cling to the top of most glass and plastic surfaces without adhesive and removes easily with no residue. The present invention is reusable and washable. - The top arrangement surface 1 comprises a plurality of
holes 4 into which a user may place items in order to secure the items for any desired arrangement. The plurality ofholes 4 is designed to add grip for the items placed into them. The plurality ofholes 4 is distributed across the top arrangement surface 1 and traverses through the top arrangement surface 1. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the plurality ofholes 4 preferably traverses perpendicularly through the top arrangement surface 1; however, this is not an explicit requirement for all embodiments of the present invention. In alternate embodiments the plurality ofholes 4 may traverse through the top arrangement surface 1 at any other desired angle or angles. - The rounded
lateral wall 2 is the primary supporting structure of the present invention, supporting the top arrangement surface 1 in an adequate position for accommodating items placed into the plurality ofholes 4. The roundedlateral wall 2 is generally cylindrical, and in the preferred embodiment of the present invention the roundedlateral wall 2 is a tapered cylinder. Thus, alower diameter 5 of the roundedlateral wall 2 adjacent to the lowerperimetrical edge 3 is greater than an upper diameter 6 of the roundedlateral wall 2 adjacent to the top arrangement surface 1, as shown inFIG. 2 . However, it is not a requirement for the roundedlateral wall 2 to be tapered, and in alternate embodiment of the present invention the roundedlateral wall 2 may simply be a cylinder with constant diameter. Thus, the roundedlateral wall 2 is radially symmetric in the preferred embodiment of the present invention. The top arrangement surface 1 is also radially symmetric, as is the lowerperimetrical edge 3 of the roundedlateral wall 2. - In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the lateral wall surrounds a hollow
interior space 7. In alternate embodiments of the present invention, the space within the roundedlateral wall 2 may be a solid interior body, or mostly solid with the plurality ofholes 4 extending from the top arrangement surface 1 through the solid interior body. - The inverted bowl shape of the present invention allows the present invention to be placed atop a flower vase, with the top of the flower vase traversing into the hollow
interior space 7 and the top arrangement surface 1 resting against the opening of the vase within the hollowinterior space 7 in order to hold flowers in place securely within the vase, giving the user easy control over the arrangement and design of the flowers within the vase. The present invention may also be used without a flower vase or other object, such as simply resting the lowerperimetrical edge 3 on a flat or otherwise supporting surface. - The top arrangement surface 1 has convex geometry, such that a
focal point 8 of the top arrangement surface 1 is positioned along a direction from the top arrangement surface 1 toward the lowerperimetrical edge 3. In other words, the top arrangement surface 1 is convex away from the lowerperimetrical edge 3. The convex geometry of the top arrangement surface 1 aids in arranging items in the present invention by spreading the angle of the items among each other. In alternate embodiments, however, the top arrangement surface 1 may be a flat, circular surface. - In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the plurality of
holes 4 comprises a first plurality of holes 9 and a second plurality ofholes 10. Each of the first plurality of holes 9 is circular, and each of the second plurality ofholes 10 is cross-shaped. The first plurality of holes 9 and the second plurality ofholes 10 are radially patterned and interspersed among each other on the top arrangement surface 1. The first plurality of holes 9 and the second plurality ofholes 10 should be arranged such that the majority of the top arrangement surface 1 is patterned with the plurality ofholes 4. - In one example embodiment, the first plurality of holes 9 comprises three concentric rings of circular holes, and the second plurality of
holes 10 comprises a center hole and two concentric rings of cross-shaped holes. Beginning with the center hole positioned centrally on the top arrangement surface 1 and expanding radially outward, the order of the plurality ofholes 4 alternates between the concentric rings of the first plurality of holes 9 and the second plurality ofholes 10. In this example embodiment, the first concentric ring of circular holes comprises 5 holes, the second concentric ring of circular holes comprises 14 holes, and the third concentric ring of circular holes comprises 16 holes, while the first concentric ring of cross-shaped holes comprises 7 holes and the second concentric ring of cross-shaped holes comprises 17 holes. - In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the lower
perimetrical edge 3 is radially scalloped. To this end, the lowerperimetrical edge 3 comprises a first plurality ofcurved portions 11 and a second plurality ofcurved portions 12. Each of the first plurality ofcurved portions 11 is concave toward the top arrangement surface 1, and each of the second plurality ofcurved portions 12 is convex toward the top arrangement surface 1. The first plurality ofcurved portions 11 and the second plurality ofcurved portions 12 are alternatingly positioned adjacent to each other around the lowerperimetrical edge 3, forming a scalloped, or wave-like shape of the lowerperimetrical edge 3. The scalloped edges preferably drop down up to 1.32 inches around all sides. However, the particular dimensions of the present invention are not of particular importance and many different sizes of the present invention may be created and utilized. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Claims (17)
1. An organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items comprises:
a top arrangement surface;
a rounded lateral wall, wherein the rounded lateral wall surrounds a hollow interior space;
the top arrangement surface comprises a plurality of holes;
the rounded lateral wall comprises a lower perimetrical edge;
the rounded lateral wall and the top arrangement surface being positioned axially adjacent to each other;
the rounded lateral wall and the top arrangement surface being positioned concentrically with each other;
the top arrangement surface and the rounded lateral wall being perimetrically connected to each other;
the lower perimetrical edge and the top arrangement surface being positioned axially opposite each other along the rounded lateral wall;
the plurality of holes traversing through the top arrangement surface; and
the plurality of holes being distributed across the top arrangement surface.
2. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the rounded lateral wall being a tapered cylinder, wherein a lower diameter of the rounded lateral wall adjacent to the lower perimetrical edge is greater than an upper diameter of the rounded lateral wall adjacent to the top arrangement surface.
3. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the rounded lateral wall being radially symmetric.
4. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the top arrangement surface being radially symmetric.
5. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the lower perimetrical edge of the rounded lateral wall being radially symmetric.
6. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the top arrangement surface having convex geometry, wherein a focal point of the top arrangement surface is positioned along a direction from the top arrangement surface toward the lower perimetrical edge.
7. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the top arrangement surface being a flat surface, wherein the top arrangement surface is circular.
8. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the plurality of holes traversing perpendicularly through the top arrangement surface.
9. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the plurality of holes comprises a first plurality of holes and a second plurality of holes.
10. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 9 comprises:
the first plurality of holes and the second plurality of holes being radially patterned on the top arrangement surface.
11. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 9 comprises:
the first plurality of holes and the second plurality of holes being interspersed among each other on the top arrangement surface.
12. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 9 comprises:
each the first plurality of holes being circular.
13. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 9 comprises:
each of the second plurality of holes being cross-shaped.
14. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the lower perimetrical edge being radially scalloped.
15. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 14 comprises:
the lower perimetrical edge comprises a first plurality of curved portions and a second plurality of curved portions; and
the first plurality of curved portions and the second plurality of curved portions being alternatingly positioned adjacent to each other around the lower perimetrical edge.
16. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 15 comprises:
each of the first plurality of curved portions being concave toward the top arrangement surface; and
each of the second plurality of curved portions being convex toward the top arrangement surface.
17. The organizing tool for arranging flowers and other items as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the rounded lateral wall, the top arrangement surface, and the lower perimetrical edge being made of a flexible polymer material.
