  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • Embodiments of the present atomizing device and electronic cigarette will now be described in detail below and with references to the drawings.
  • Referring to FIG. 1, an atomizing device of an electronic cigarette in accordance with a first embodiment is provided. The atomizing device includes an atomizing sleeve 1, a liquid reserving member 14 and a heating coil assembly 10 received in the atomizing sleeve 1, a mouthpiece 3, a screw sleeve 5, an electrode ring 6 fixed in the screw sleeve 5 and an insulated ring 11 fixed between the electrode ring 6 and the screw sleeve 5. The mouthpiece 3 and the screw sleeve 5 are respectively engaged to two ends of the atomizing sleeve 1 tightly. In the present embodiment, the heating coil assembly 10 includes a glass fiber core and a heating coil wrapping around the glass fiber core. Two ends of the heating coil are respectively connected with the screw sleeve 5 and the electrode ring 6. The liquid reserving member 14 is applied to contain tobacco solution. In addition, the liquid reserving member 14 includes at least two layers with different densities. Furthermore, the atomizing device does not include an air pipe.
  • An air passage 15 is formed in a center of the liquid reserving member 14, and the heating coil assembly 10 is received in the air passage 15. During work, the heating coil assembly 10 absorbs the tobacco solution from the liquid reserving member 14 and atomizes the tobacco solution; the atomized tobacco solution flows out from the air passage 15 finally.
  • In the present embodiment, there is no liquid obstructing ring arranged between the mouthpiece 3 and the atomizing sleeve 1. The mouthpiece 3 may press upon the liquid reserving member 14 directly, in this situation, the liquid reserving member 14 will not be moved in the atomizing sleeve 1 when the electronic cigarette surfers from vibration. However, in other embodiments, the mouthpiece 3 does not have to press upon the liquid reserving member 14 when the liquid reserving member 14 is fixed steadily in the atomizing sleeve 1. Furthermore, the mouthpiece 3 may keep a distance in a range between 3-4 mm from the liquid reserving member 14, and a space (see FIGS. 1 and 4) is formed between the mouthpiece 3 and the liquid reserving member 14 to reduce a risk of choking the tobacco solution.
  • Specifically, in the present embodiment, the liquid reserving member 14 includes a first layer 9 made of a cotton cloth and a second layer 7 made of a liquid absorbing cotton. The first layer 9 is denser but thinner than the second layer 7, thereby the first layer 9 acts as obstructing the liquid and the second layer 7 acts as reserving the liquid, and two ends of the glass fiber core can extend towards the first layer 9.
  • Referring to FIG. 2, in the present embodiment, a knurling 51 is formed at an outer wall of the screw sleeve 5, an external surface of the knurling 51 is coated with a sealant and then connected to the atomizing sleeve 1. Due to the knurling 51, a great amount of sealant may be filled in grooves of the knurling 51. After the knurling 51 is connected to the atomizing sleeve 1, a sealed structure between the screw sleeve 5 and the atomizing sleeve 1 is formed. In addition, the screw sleeve 5 has two parts, one part has the knurling 51 to be connected to the atomizing sleeve 1, and the other part has an outer screw 52 which may facilitate connect and disconnect to other components. An air channel 53 is formed in a peripheral wall of the screw sleeve 5, and a diameter of the air channel 53 is selected in a range between 0.6 mm to 1.0 mm in view of reducing noise generated by air flowing through the air channel 53.
  • Referring to FIG. 3, a screw sleeve 5 in accordance with a second embodiment is provided. In the present embodiment, a knurling 51 is formed at an outer wall of the screw sleeve 5, and an inner screw 55 is formed in an internal surface of the screw sleeve 5 to connect with the atomizing sleeve 1. Air channels 54 are formed at the bottom of the screw sleeve 5. However, in other embodiments, there is no need to set the air channels 53 or 54 when air flows through from a front end of the electronic cigarette (see FIG. 9); and when the knurling 51 is formed at the outer wall of the screw sleeve 5, a sealing cover 8 of FIG. 10 may not have to be arranged between the screw sleeve 5 and the atomizing sleeve 1.
  • Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, an atomizing device 1 in accordance with a third embodiment is provided. The atomizing device 1 includes not only all the elements in the first embodiment but also an air pipe 2. A liquid reserving member 14 is wrapped around the air pipe 2. The liquid reserving member 14 includes a first layer 9 made of a cotton cloth and a second layer 7 made of a liquid absorbing cotton. The first layer 9 which is denser but thinner than the second layer 7 directly wraps around the external surface of the air pipe 2. As known, a fluidity of the liquid is poorer in the denser material, which may prevent liquid from immersing into a heating coil assembly 10 and burying the heating coil assembly 10, meanwhile can avoid leaking.
  • Referring to FIGS. 6 and 7, one end of the air pipe 2 which is connected to the screw sleeve 5 includes two connectors 21 and 22, and a space is formed between the connectors 21 and 22, then the heating coil assembly 10 is received in the space. The screw sleeve 5 has a ring-shaped groove 56 and the ends of both the connectors 21 and 22 are inserted into the ring-shaped groove 56. Then two arc-shaped wedges 12, which respectively pressing on the external surface of each of the connectors 21 and 22, are arranged in the ring-shaped groove 56 via interference fit. Due to the wedges 12, a procedure of gluing for fixing the air pipe 2 can be omitted, thereby saving a time to wait the glue dry and increasing efficiency of producing the electronic cigarettes. However, in other embodiments, the air pipe 2 may include more than two connectors.
  • Referring to FIG. 7, the number of the wedges 12 is equal to the number of the connectors 21 and 22. In the present embodiment, to increase a contacting area between the wedges 12 and the connectors 21 and 22, a length of each of the wedges 12 is selected being a little longer than the corresponding connectors 21 and 22, as a result, the screw sleeve 5 may generate a strong force for steadily fixing the air pipe 2.
  • In the present embodiment, the wedges 12 are made of a plastic material. In other embodiments, the wedges 12 may also be made of a metallic material, a silicone material or a rubber material.
  • Referring to FIG. 8, another configuration of an air pipe 2 fixed on a screw sleeve 5 in accordance with a fourth embodiment is provided. In the present embodiment, a wedge 12 is ring-shaped, and there are pressing recesses 121 and 122 respectively formed on the wedge 12 to facilitate assembly. Specifically, a cutout is formed on the ring of the wedge 12, and a chamfer 120 is formed in the cutout of the wedge 12.
  • Referring to FIG. 9, an electronic cigarette including an atomizing device 1 and a battery assembly 16 in accordance with a fifth embodiment is provided, the battery assembly 16 is electrically connected to the atomizing device 1.
  • It is understood that the above-described embodiments are intended to illustrate rather than limit the disclosure. Variations may be made to the embodiments and methods without departing from the spirit of the disclosure. Accordingly, it is appropriate that the appended claims be construed broadly and in a manner consistent with the scope of the disclosure.
