Abstract
A cable organizing device includes a housing member having a rear wall and two end walls extended from a bottom wall for forming a chamber in the housing member, and another housing member having a front wall pivotally coupled to the bottom wall of with a hinge member for allowing the housing members to be folded relative to each other; and the housing member includes one or more posts extended from the bottom wall for winding and organizing a cable and for anchoring and positioning the cable within the chamber of the housing member. The housing member includes an enlarged head formed on top of the post for anchoring the cable on the post.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a cable organizing device, and more particularly to a cable organizing device including an improved structure or configuration for solidly and stably winding and storing and organizing one or more wires or cables therein and for preventing the wires or cables from being disengaged or separated from the cable organizing device.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- Typical cable organizer or organizing devices comprise a casing or housing having a plate or wall member which includes one or more openings or orifices or notches formed therein for receiving or engaging with the wires or cables and for winding and storing and organizing the wires or cables therein and for preventing the wires or cables from being disengaged or separated from the cable organizing device.
- For example, U.S. Pat. No. 4,721,268 to Lerner et al., U.S. Pat. No. 6,736,669 to Martin et al., U.S. Pat. No. 7,433,571 to Kendricks, U.S. Pat. No. 7,446,260 to Hammonds, U.S. Pat. No. 7,607,618 to Mori et al., U.S. Pat. No. 7,882,660 to Kitagawa, and U.S. Pat. No. 8,076,584 to Huang et al. disclose several of the typical cable organizing devices each comprising a casing or housing having a compartment or chamber or one or more openings or orifices or notches formed therein for receiving or engaging with the wires or cables and for winding and storing and organizing the wires or cables therein and for preventing the wires or cables from being disengaged or separated from the casing or housing of the cable organizing device.
- However, the wires or cables may only be randomly or loosely received or engaged within the casing or housing of the cable organizing device and may not be solidly and stably anchored or retained or positioned within the casing or housing, and may have a good chance to be disengaged from the casing or housing inadvertently.
- The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional cable organizing devices.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a cable organizing device including an improved structure or configuration for solidly and stably winding and storing and organizing one or more wires or cables therein and for preventing the wires or cables from being disengaged or separated from the cable organizing device.
- In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a cable organizing device comprising a receptacle including a first housing member having a bottom wall, and a rear wall and two end walls extended upwardly from the bottom wall for forming and defining a chamber in the first housing member, and a second housing member including a front wall pivotally coupled to the bottom wall of the first housing member with a hinge member for allowing the bottom wall of the first housing member and the front wall of the second housing member to be pivoted and folded relative to each other; and the first housing member including at least one post extended from the bottom wall and extended into the chamber of the first housing member for winding and engaging with a cable and for receiving and organizing and storing the cable within the chamber of the first housing member.
- The end walls of the first housing member each include an opening formed therein and communicating with the chamber of the first housing member for receiving and engaging with the cable. The first housing member includes at least one notch formed in the rear wall and communicating with the chamber of the first housing member for receiving and engaging with the cable.
- The first housing member includes an enlarged head formed and provided on top of the post for anchoring the cable on the post and for preventing the cable from being disengaged from the post. The first housing member includes at least one orifice formed in the bottom wall. The end walls of the first housing member each include a triangular structure coupled between the bottom wall and the rear wall of the first housing member.
- The second housing member includes an upper wall and two end panels extended from the front wall for forming and defining a compartment in the second housing member. The end panels of the second housing member each include a triangular structure coupled between the upper wall and the front wall of the second housing member.
- The end panels of the second housing member each include a channel formed therein and communicating with the compartment of the second housing member. The channel of the end panel of the second housing member is spaced from the opening of the end wall of the first housing member when the first and the second housing members are folded toward each other.
- The second housing member includes at least one projection extended outwardly from the upper wall. A bar may include one or more cavities formed therein for selectively engaging with the projections and for shielding and covering or protecting the projections and for preventing the projections from being exposed and contacted or engaged with the other objects.
- Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of the detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIGS. 1 and 2 , a cable organizing device in accordance with the present invention comprises areceptacle 1 including two 10, 20 pivotally or rotatably secured or coupled together with a pivot joint orhousing members hinge member 21 to form a spatial or three-dimensional or parallelepiped structure or configuration, for example, thefirst housing member 10 includes a lower or bottom portion orwall 11, and a side or rear panel orwall 12 and one or more (such as two) side or end panels orwalls 13 extended upwardly from thebottom wall 11 for forming or defining a compartment orchamber 14 in thefirst housing member 10, in which theend walls 13 each include a substantially triangular structure or configuration or contour secured or coupled between thebottom wall 11 and therear wall 12 of thefirst housing member 10. - The
second housing member 20 includes a side or front panel orwall 22 pivotally or rotatably attached or secured or coupled to thebottom wall 11 of thefirst housing member 10 with the pivot joint orhinge member 21 for allowing thebottom wall 11 of thefirst housing member 10 and thefront wall 22 of thesecond housing member 20 to be pivoted or rotated or folded relative to each other; and includes an upper portion orwall 23 and one or more (such as two) side or end or walls orpanels 24 extended from thefront wall 22 for forming or defining a chamber orcompartment 25 in thesecond housing member 20, in which theend panels 24 each include a substantially triangular structure or configuration or contour secured or coupled between theupper wall 23 and thefront wall 22 of thesecond housing member 20. - The
chamber 14 of thefirst housing member 10 and thecompartment 25 of thesecond housing member 20 may be communicated with each other when the 10, 20 are folded toward each other, for receiving or engaging with the wires or cables 8 (housing members FIGS. 3 , 4), and theend walls 13 of thefirst housing member 10 each include a groove or notch or channel or opening 15 formed therein and communicating with thechamber 14 of thefirst housing member 10 also for receiving or engaging with the wires orcables 8, and theend panels 24 of thesecond housing member 20 each also include a notch or opening or groove orchannel 26 formed therein and communicating with thecompartment 25 of thesecond housing member 20 also for receiving or engaging with the wires orcables 8. The 10, 20 may be solidly and stably anchored or retained or secured or coupled together with force-fitted engagements, quick release mechanisms, latches or fasteners (not illustrated).housing members - It is preferable that the opening 15 of the
end wall 13 of thefirst housing member 10 and thechannel 26 of theend panel 24 of thesecond housing member 20 are offset or spaced or separated from each other when the 10, 20 are folded toward each other (housing members FIGS. 1 , 3). Therear wall 12 of thefirst housing member 10 further includes one or more (such as two) openings or grooves or channels ornotches 16 formed therein and also communicating with thechamber 14 of thefirst housing member 10 and also for receiving or engaging with the wires orcables 8, and thefirst housing member 10 further includes one or more (such as three) pegs or columns orposts 17 extended upwardly from thebottom wall 11 and extended into thechamber 14 of thefirst housing member 10 for winding or engaging with the wires or cables 8 (FIG. 4 ). - It is preferable that the
first housing member 10 further includes an enlargedhead 18 formed or provided on top of each of theposts 17 for solidly and stably anchoring or retaining or positioning the wires orcables 8 on theposts 17 and for preventing the wires orcables 8 from being disengaged or separated or removed from theposts 17, and thefirst housing member 10 further includes one or more apertures or openings ororifices 19 formed in thebottom wall 11 and spaced or separated or offset from theposts 17, and thesecond housing member 20 further includes one or more pegs or columns or pins or keys orprojections 27 extended upwardly and outwardly from theupper wall 23 for engaging with theorifices 19 of the other receptacle 1 (FIGS. 5 , 7) for allowing thereceptacles 1 to be solidly and stably anchored or retained or secured or coupled together with theorifices 19 and theprojections 27. - In operation, as shown in
FIG. 4 , when the 10, 20 are folded or separated or disengaged from each other at an open or working position, the wires orhousing members cables 8 may be easily and quickly wound or engaged onto theposts 17 and may be prevented from being disengaged or separated or removed from theposts 17 with the enlargedheads 18 of theposts 17, and the wires orcables 8 may then be engaged into or engaged through theopenings 15 of theend walls 13 of thefirst housing member 10 so as to be solidly and stably anchored or retained or positioned within thechamber 14 of thefirst housing member 10. Thesecond housing member 20 may then be folded or pivoted or rotated and engaged onto the first housing member 10 (FIG. 3 ) for further solidly and stably anchoring or retaining or positioning the wires orcables 8 within thechamber 14 of thefirst housing member 10. - As shown in
FIGS. 6 and 8 , a beam or rod orbar 30 may further be provided and includes one or more apertures or openings or orifices or holes orcavities 31 formed therein for selectively engaging with theprojections 27 of thereceptacles 1 and for allowing thereceptacles 1 to be solidly and stably anchored or retained or secured or coupled together with the bar 30 (FIG. 6 ), or as shown inFIG. 8 , theprojections 27 of thereceptacle 1 may be engaged into thecavities 31 of thebar 30 and may be shielded and covered or protected by thebar 30 for preventing theprojections 27 of thereceptacle 1 from being exposed and for preventing theprojections 27 from being contacted or engaged with the other objects or the like. - Accordingly, the cable organizing device in accordance with the present invention includes an improved structure or configuration for solidly and stably winding and storing and organizing one or more wires or cables therein and for preventing the wires or cables from being disengaged or separated from the cable organizing device.
- Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Claims (11)
1. A cable organizing device comprising:
a receptacle including a first housing member having a bottom wall, and a rear wall and two end walls extended upwardly from said bottom wall for forming and defining a chamber in said first housing member, and
a second housing member including a front wall pivotally coupled to said bottom wall of said first housing member with a hinge member for allowing said bottom wall of said first housing member and said front wall of said second housing member to be pivoted and folded relative to each other; and
said first housing member including at least one post extended from said bottom wall and extended into said chamber of said first housing member for winding and engaging with a cable.
2. The cable organizing device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said end walls of said first housing member each include an opening formed therein and communicating with said chamber of said first housing member for receiving and engaging with said cable.
3. The cable organizing device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said first housing member includes at least one notch formed in said rear wall and communicating with said chamber of said first housing member for receiving and engaging with said cable.
4. The cable organizing device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said first housing member includes an enlarged head formed and provided on top of said at least one post for anchoring said cable on said at least one post.
5. The cable organizing device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said first housing member includes at least one orifice formed in said bottom wall.
6. The cable organizing device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said end walls of said first housing member each include a triangular structure coupled between said bottom wall and said rear wall of said first housing member.
7. The cable organizing device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said second housing member includes an upper wall and two end panels extended from said front wall for forming and defining a compartment in said second housing member.
8. The cable organizing device as claimed in claim 7 , wherein said end panels of said second housing member each include a triangular structure coupled between said upper wall and said front wall of said second housing member.
9. The cable organizing device as claimed in claim 7 , wherein said end panels of said second housing member each include a channel formed therein and communicating with said compartment of said second housing member.
10. The cable organizing device as claimed in claim 9 , wherein said channel of said end panel of said second housing member is spaced from said opening of said end wall of said first housing member when said first and said second housing members are folded toward each other.
11. The cable organizing device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said second housing member includes at least one projection extended outwardly from said upper wall.
