Abstract

The invention relates to a necktie that has been specially designed to display two different appearances depending on how it is tied, i.e. either in the form of a traditional necktie or as a cravate. Moreover, the necktie can optionally display an additional two appearances depending on the face selected to be on display. The necktie comprises at least two parts obtained from fabrics of different colours, patterns and fabric types, such that, when worn, the necktie can display at least two different appearances, namely: one in which the front apron is visible and prominent; and another in which the rear apron is positioned in front of the front apron and is therefore more prominent, such that the two aprons with different appearances are both on display and the appearance of the knot matches that of the apron that is pulled up during tying. The different fabrics are visible at the neck and the lengths of the different aprons at the connection thereof are dependent on the appearance of the knot.

Description

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a necktie conceived and structured in order to offer different appearances, which may be selected by the user itself, fundamentally in order to achieve different aesthetic combination possibilities with the rest of the clothes of said user.
The invention is then encompassed within the field of clothes and fashion accessories.

BACKGROUND ART

As is known, modern neckties, with common characteristics that have been kept the same over time, are structured by means of a considerably elongated, tubular and flat body, at which end areas a rear apron and a front apron are defined, such that the seam closing the tubular body on itself is located along the rear face of the necktie, displaying, when worn and in addition to the corresponding knot, the area corresponding to the front apron covering the rear apron, which is generally immobilized by means of a clip.
To reduce costs, there are neckties that are also structured by means of two parts instead of one, seam remaining at the area of the neck of the user such that it is invisible in order for the necktie, with the same appearance, to be cheaper to manufacture by using smaller parts.
As provided above, there are neckties that are wider, narrower, longer, shorter, etc., depending on the ever-changing fashion trends. The same happens with the types of fabric used, the patterns thereof, etc.
In any case, a certain necktie offers a single and specific appearance, which does not change, supposing a problem that is mainly focused on the following aspects:

- A certain necktie can only match certain clothes, such that a change of clothes would entail the need to use a different necktie, meaning that the user must have a range of appropriate neckties to match the rest of his clothes.
- In case of a stain, which is frequent, for example throughout a meal, the necktie is no longer usable, sometimes forever, due to the impossibility of eliminating said stains, in the best of cases disturbing the appearance of the person until the moment when said necktie can be replaced with another.

An attempt to solve this problem is represented by utility model ES0183651 U, which describes a reversible necktie. Although this necktie can be used on both faces, it does not present several aprons, such as the present case, limiting its forms of use or combinations given that, for example, by positioning the rear apron in front of the front apron said necktie does not display any change of appearance.
At the same time, utility model ES0135708 U describes a necktie with two aprons that are formally identical, with four usable faces.
Even though this necktie allows four different forms of assembly, since the aprons have the same size, the apron that is located in the rear will always be fully hidden by the front apron, thereby limiting the forms of use.
This same problem occurs in other known documents, to which we must add the fact that with this type of multi-functional neckties with different types of patterns, for the knot to present the same pattern or colour than the front apron cannot be achieved in all the positions of use.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The multi-functional necktie proposed by the invention solves in a fully satisfactory manner the problem exposed above in all of the aforementioned aspects, making it possible to offer a large variety of possibilities of use.
In a more specific manner, the necktie being proposed is able to offer to the observer, when worn, up to four completely different appearances, based exclusively on two types of different patterns, such that the necktie can match multiple clothes.
In addition, in case of stains, the working position of the necktie only needs to be inverted in order for the stain to be hidden.
To achieve the foregoing and in accordance with the simplest embodiment of the invention, the necktie, maintaining the structure of a conventional necktie, focuses its characteristics on the fact that its two halves in the longitudinal direction are made of a different fabric and/or colour and/or pattern, etc., such that depending on the position adopted to configure the knot of the necktie, the same will display on the one hand its front apron, and on the other the rear apron, that is to say, two different appearances. From here on, the necktie can present its rear apron, as is conventionally done, such that when the former is used as a front and visible element of the necktie as a whole when worn, the front apron will be partially visible by the marginal areas thereof, since it stands out with respect to the rear apron.
In a more complex embodiment of the invention the necktie, instead of being constituted by two parts, as in the case described above, it will be constituted by four parts with two different appearances, such that two halves that are aesthetically different from each other will appear on one face of the necktie, and on the other face two other halves with the same different appearances but in a different position, that is to say, the appearances of one face correspond to the front apron and the appearances of the other face correspond to the rear apron and vice versa.
In this case and in order for the seams not to be visible, instead of being located on the longitudinal line and in the middle of the rear face of the necktie, which no longer exists, they will be located on the longitudinal and lateral edges thereof
Lastly, it should be noted that in both cases, the necktie can also incorporate a third intermediate sector, intended to be hidden under the collar of the shirt, which is not subject to any aesthetic rule and its sole purpose is to reduce the manufacturing cost.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

In order to complete the description being made and with the purpose of facilitating a better comprehension of the characteristics of the invention in accordance with a preferred example of a practical embodiment thereof, a set of drawings is attached as an integral part of said description representing the following in an illustrative rather than limiting manner.

FIG. 1.—Shows, in a frontal elevational view, a multi-functional necktie made in accordance with the object of the present invention in accordance with the simplest embodiment variant, wherein said necktie is capable of displaying only two different appearances.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

Taking as reference FIGS. 1 and 3 in the first place, they show how the necktie is constituted by a flat tubular body (1) that closes on itself with the collaboration of a longitudinal seam (2) and in which a front apron (3) and a rear apron (4) are defined, where said tubular body (1) can be structured as a single part by means of two parts affixed to each other in a longitudinal alignment, the foregoing in a similar manner as in the case of a conventional necktie.
In accordance with the invention, approximately half of the tie corresponding to the front apron (3) is made of a fabric that is different from the fabric forming the rear apron (4), such that, after making the knot of the necktie, the same displays as a prominent element the front apron (3), the rear apron (4) remaining hidden behind the front apron, or the rear apron (4) being the one located in front and in a prominent situation, with which the appearance of the necktie changes completely.
The rear apron (4) can be less wide than the front apron (3) or slightly match the former, such that when said rear apron (4) is located in the front, the front apron (3) can be hidden behind it or be visible by its marginal and longitudinal areas, in accordance with different design criteria.
In the more complex embodiment, shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, instead of being made with one or two parts in a longitudinal alignment, such as in the preceding case, the tubular body (1′) will be formed by means of four parts, two corresponding to the front apron (3′) and the two other parts corresponding to the rear apron (4′), such that these four parts are affixed to each other by means of two longitudinal seams (2′) located in correspondence with the longitudinal edges of the necktie, as shown particularly in FIG. 6.
As in the preceding case there are also two types of fabric, but with the particularity that in the present case the fabric forming one of the parts (5) corresponding to the front apron (3′) is different from the other part (6) corresponding to that same apron, while at the level of the rear apron (4′) there are also two different fabrics, but forming opposing faces, that is to say, two different fabrics participate in each one of the faces of the necktie in a position opposite each other.
Thus, we obtain two different appearances of the necktie depending on the prominent position of one or the other face (5-6) of the front apron (3′) or if the prominent element in the necktie is the rear apron (4′), which shall reveal under the same the sector with the same fabric than the front apron (3′), as shown in FIG. 8, thereby displaying two aprons with different appearances and conditioning the knot thereof to the appearance of the apron that is pulled up. The different fabrics are visible at the neck and the lengths of the different aprons at the connection thereof are dependent on the appearance of the knot, there being different sizes to preserve their characteristics.
Lastly, it should be noted that, as provided above and as shown in FIG. 7, the necktie can display three longitudinal portions in addition to those cited above corresponding to the front apron (3″) and the rear apron (4″), an intermediate sector (7) that is not affected by any pattern requirement because it occupies the middle area of the necktie, which, in the assembly thereof, it will be hidden under the collar of the shirt.

Claims

1. Multi-functional necktie comprising a tubular, flat and considerably elongated body, wherein a front apron and a rear apron are defined at the end areas thereof, wherein in the same participate at least two parts obtained from different fabrics due to their colour, patterns or even the nature of the fabric, such that the necktie, when worn, can display at least two different appearances, one wherein the front apron is visible and prominent, and another wherein the rear apron is positioned in front of the front apron and is therefore more prominent, such that the two aprons with different appearances are both on display and the appearance of the knot matches that of the apron that is pulled up during tying, the different fabrics being visible at the neck and the lengths of the different aprons at the connection thereof being dependent on the appearance of the knot.

The multi-functional necktie according to claim 1, wherein when it offers two different appearances, it is constituted by two longitudinal, tubular and flat parts, each of which closes on itself by means of a rear and middle longitudinal seam line, these parts being made with a different fabric and being connected to each other by their inner end.

The multi-functional necktie according to claim 1, wherein it can display two different appearances between one and two aprons for a total of four different appearances, in which case it is constituted by four parts made of two different fabrics, two parts forming the front apron and which are made of a different fabric and two other parts forming the rear apron and which are also made of a different fabric, with the particularity that the types of fabric that participate in the front apron are in the opposite position in the rear apron.

The multi-functional necktie according to claim 1, wherein in the same three longitudinal sectors are established, one corresponding to the front apron, the other corresponding to the rear apron, and an intermediate sector, the latter being indistinctly structured by means of two or four parts and with no conditions regarding the type of fabric, corresponding this intermediate sector to a segment of the necktie which, when worn, is hidden under the collar of the shirt.
