Abstract
The present invention relates to a single dose dispenser package (1, 10, 100) intended for storage of fluids, particularly perfumes, comprising a small-sized hollow body so as to allow for the storage of single dose of perfume, totally or partially made of flexible and impermeable material.
Description
- The present invention relates to a single dose fluid dispenser package, particularly to perfumes, that aims at making them easy to carry and use anywhere, anytime.
- This document relates to perfumes as a didactic appeal, since the invention is more generally related to any fluid. Still according to the context of the invention, single dose of perfume relates to a monodose of perfume, essence, cologne, or any similar liquid, which a user deems reasonable to provide an olfactory effect.
- Cylindrical glass perfume sample packages sealed with a plastic closure are known.
- Said packages are smaller than the usual perfume glass bottles, but their inner space allows the storage of several doses of perfume, so that the user can make use of it several times till there is no more perfume left.
- Although said packages are easier and lighter to carry around than the usual perfume glass bottles, their cap does not always ensure proper closure, which results in leaks after the bottle is opened and closed some times.
- Furthermore, since said packages are typically made of glass they can break if they fall to the floor or if they hit against something. If that happens inside the user's handbag, not only it damages the handbag since its interior gets drenched with perfume, but the user can also get his/her hand cut.
- Thus, aiming at solving the problems found in the art, the inventors have developed based on the concept of biomimetic a single dose dispenser package utilized to store a certain amount of perfume intended for a single use and subsequent disposal, preventing leak usually caused by successively opening and closing the package—was developed.
- Biomimicry, as known to those skilled in the art, is the science which draws on nature to produce products that mimic their actions. In this sense, the weak points and the bursting of the same at the fluid dispensing container of the present invention mimic the natural seed dispersal strategy (explosive dehiscence), which occurs when the fruits are dry and structures that involve rupture when applying light pressure on certain points, releasing the seeds.
- The present package is of practical use and to achieve the above mentioned effect the content thereof is released by merely compressing the weak points of the package between the fingers, or with the aid of any slightly sharp object.
- The package is portable, easy to carry and allows for the use of the perfume anywhere and anytime. It can also be used to carry perfume samples.
- It is totally or partially made out of a fall-proof flexible material, which is also resistant to the components of the perfume.
- The package may comprise a region of weakness (or frangible region), which can easily break when one compresses said package, allowing for the release of the perfume onto the user's skin or making it easy for the user to direct the perfume outlet at the desired direction. The region of weakness of the package can comprise, for instance, a point, several points, weakened regions or weakened lines—in a cross-like form, for example—that break when pressure is applied on the package. A line of weakness can be the line that holds together the component material of the package and that releases the content of the package when it is broken.
- With respect to the weakened region, according to the present invention, one considers a region of reduced thickness, particularly smaller than 1 mm, which may be broken due to this reduced thickness relative to the container body. Said weakened region can have not only a smaller thickness but be associated with a point, a line or crossing lines.
- Schematic figures of examples of single dose packages, whose sizes and dimensions are not necessarily the real ones, are mentioned below; said figures are only intended for didactically showing the numerous aspects of the present invention, whose scope of protection is only determined by the scope of the claims herein attached.
-
FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of an example of single dose package (1) of the present invention. -
FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of a constructive variant (10) of the present package. -
FIG. 3 shows a perspective view of another constructive variant (100) of the present package. -
FIG. 4 shows a perspective view of the package (100) ofFIG. 3 being pressed by the user's fingers (2, 3). - According to the attached figures, the present invention relates to a single dose package (1, 10, 100) comprising a hollow body to store perfume;
- said body can have any shape: the examples show a spheroidal one (
FIG. 1 ); an elongated one, having a broadened end, like a bulb (FIG. 2 ); a bullet-shaped, elongated one having a constant section in crosswise direction (FIG. 3 ); an elongated one having a narrow intermediate section (not displayed), an elongated one having a broad intermediate section (not displayed) etc. - The volume of the package (1, 10, 100) allows the storage of a single dose of perfume, typically ranging between 1 and 20 ml of perfume or essence, particularly between 2 and 5 ml, more particularly between 0.5 and 1.
- The material of the package (1, 10, 100) is totally or partially flexible and impermeable to the perfume and to its constituents, such as solvents, alcohols, water, essence etc. Particularly, said flexible material may be selected from, but not limited to, gelatinous material, plastic, rubber and materials containing them.
- According to the example shown in
FIG. 4 , the package (1, 10, 100) can be opened by means of finger compression (2, 3) that thus breaks the package (100) and allows the perfume to be released (7). - In the example of
FIG. 1 , the package (1) has a point (4) of weakness where the material easily breaks when the package (1) is compressed. Likewise,FIGS. 2 and 3 display lines (5 and 6, respectively) of weakness of the material. - Thus, in pressing the package (100) with the fingers (2, 3) the perfume fume is directed (7) outwards the package.
- The person skilled in the art will readily envision, from the description and figures, various ways to reproduce the invention without lying outside the scope of the claims herein attached.
