Abstract
An expandable luggage includes a luggage body, a luggage cover, a secondary cover and an extension fabric connected between the secondary cover and the luggage cover through second zippers. The secondary cover has an outer flange. The luggage cover has an inner flange. The inner flange engages with the outer flange. Thus, when the secondary cover is extended to expand the inner space of the luggage body, the extension fabric can be protected to prevent the extension fabric from being damaged so that the articles in the luggage won't be stolen.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to an expandable luggage, and more particularly, to an expandable luggage which can expand or reduce its size and is durable to prevent the luggage from being damaged.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- As shown in
FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 , a conventional luggage can change the size of the luggage body. The luggage comprises aluggage body 1, aluggage cover 2 having afirst zipper 3 and anextension fabric 5 between thefirst zipper 3 and theluggage cover 2. Both sides of theextension fabric 5 are provided withsecond zippers 4, respectively. As shown inFIG. 1 , when the user wants a small-sized luggage, thesecond zippers 4 are zipped to hide theextension fabric 5 so as to shorten the distance of theluggage body 1 and theluggage cover 2. As shown inFIG. 2 , when the user wants to expand the size of the luggage, thesecond zippers 4 are unzipped to expose theextension fabric 5 so as to lengthen the distance of theluggage body 1 and theluggage cover 2. The foregoing structure has the following shortcomings. - 1. The
extension fabric 5 is made of a soft material and its strength is not good so theextension fabric 5 may uneven. - 2. The thief can cut the
extension fabric 5 to steal the articles in the luggage easily. - 3. Because the
extension fabric 5 is soft, theluggage body 1 may be deformed. - This causes the luggage wheels to run unstably.
- 4. As shown in
FIG. 3 , when the luggage is dragged with two wheels and theluggage cover 2 is filled with some articles to have a certain weight, theluggage cover 2 may slide downward to cause deformation of the luggage. - Accordingly, the present invention intends to provide an expandable luggage for improving the shortcomings mentioned above.
- The primary object of the present invention is to provide an expandable luggage. The expandable luggage comprises a luggage body, a luggage cover, a secondary cover, and an extension fabric between the secondary cover and the luggage cover. Two sides of the extension fabric are provided with second zippers to connect with the luggage cover and the secondary cover. The luggage cover has an inner flange. The secondary cover has an outer flange. The inner flange engages with the outer flange. When the user wants to reduce the size of the luggage, a portion of the secondary cover is retracted in the luggage cover. When the user wants to expand the size of the luggage, the secondary cover can be extended outward and the extension fabric is still protected by the luggage cover to prevent the extension fabric from being damaged and to prevent the articles in the luggage from being stolen. The inner flange engages with the outer flange so that the secondary cover and the luggage cover are connected together to form a durable luggage.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a conventional luggage; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing the conventional luggage to be expanded; -
FIG. 3 is a schematic view showing the luggage cover of the conventional luggage to slide downward; -
FIG. 4 is an exploded view of the present invention; -
FIG. 5 is a side sectional view of the present invention in an expanded state; and -
FIG. 6 is a side sectional view of the present invention in a retracted state. - Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
- As shown in
FIG. 4 ,FIG. 5 andFIG. 6 , the present invention comprises aluggage body 10 having afirst zipper 11 and aluggage cover 12. One side of theluggage cover 12 is provided with asecondary cover 14. Anextension fabric 20 is provided between thesecondary cover 14 and theluggage cover 12. Two sides of theextension fabric 20 are provided withsecond zippers 21 to connect with theluggage cover 12 and thesecondary cover 14. Thesecondary cover 14 has anouter flange 15 around a periphery thereof. Theluggage cover 12 has aninner flange 13 around a periphery thereof. Theouter flange 15 of thesecondary cover 14 is mounted in theluggage cover 12 so that theinner flange 13 of theluggage cover 12 engages with theouter flange 15 of thesecondary cover 14. - According to the aforesaid structure, the functions and effects of the present invention are descried in detail hereinafter. As shown in
FIG. 5 , when the user wants to expand the space between theluggage body 10 and thesecondary cover 14, thesecond zippers 21 are unzipped to extend (unfold) theextension fabric 20 and thesecondary cover 14 is extended outward from theluggage cover 12, such that the size of the luggage is increased. When the user wants to reduce the inner space of theluggage body 10, thesecondary zippers 21 are zipped to shorten (fold) theextension fabric 20, such that a portion of thesecondary cover 14 is received in theluggage cover 12 to reduce its size. Accordingly, the present invention has the following effects and advantages. - 1. As shown in
FIG. 5 , when the size of the luggage is expanded and theextension fabric 20 is extended, theextension fabric 20 is still covered by theluggage cover 12 so that theextension fabric 20 won't be damaged and the articles in the luggage won't be stolen. - 2. As shown in
FIG. 5 , when the size of the luggage is expanded and thesecondary cover 14 is extended outward, theouter flange 15 is stopped by theinner flange 13 of theluggage cover 12 to keep the connection state. Thus, the luggage is durable and won't have the uneven problem. Besides, theluggage cover 12 and thesecondary cover 14 are connected stably. Theluggage body 10 won't be deformed and the luggage wheels can run smoothly and stably. - 3. As shown in
FIG. 6 , when the size of the luggage is reduced, thesecondary cover 14 is retracted in theluggage cover 12 to form a dual structure at their connecting position so as to enhance the strength of the luggage. - Although particular embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the present invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
