Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an individually sealed packaged shot drink, in a plastic or glass container with sealed ingredient packet.
  • Currently, no shot drinks are sold in individual packages.
  • As can be seen, there is a need for solutions to these and other problems.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In one aspect of the present invention, a method of consuming a beverage, comprises: providing an individually packaged beverage, comprising: a container containing a liquid ingredient; a lid attached to the container so as to prevent leakage of the liquid ingredient, the lid having a pull tab extending beyond an outer region of the container, the lid comprising a pouch having an inner layer and an outer layer; and a flavored ingredient located and sealed inside the pouch; pulling the pull tab to remove the lid from the container; tearing the lid so as to open the pouch; pouring the flavored ingredient into the liquid ingredient; mixing the flavored ingredient with the liquid ingredient to form a mixture; and consuming the mixture.
  • In one aspect, the lid further comprises a perforated tear line. In one aspect, the step of tearing comprises tearing the lid along the perforated tear line. In one aspect, the flavored ingredient comprises a granulated solid. In one aspect, the flavored ingredient comprises a liquid additive. In one aspect, the liquid ingredient comprises an alcoholic beverage. In one aspect, the container comprises a shot container having a volume of not more than approximately 80 milliliters. In one aspect, the lid is adhesively attached to the container. In one aspect, the lid comprises a foil. In one aspect, the lid comprises a plastic.
  • In another aspect, a method of consuming a beverage comprises: providing an individually packaged beverage, comprising: a container containing a liquid ingredient; a lid attached to the container so as to prevent leakage of the liquid ingredient, the lid having a pull tab extending beyond an outer region of the container, the lid comprising a pouch having an inner layer and an outer layer; and a flavored ingredient located and sealed inside the pouch; pulling the pull tab to remove the lid from the container; tearing the lid so as to open the pouch; consuming the flavored ingredient; and consuming the liquid ingredient at a different time than consuming the flavored ingredient.
  • These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1: is a perspective view of the invention.
  • FIG. 2: is a cross-sectional view taken on line 2-2 of FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 3: is a detail cross-sectional view indicated by line 3-3 of FIG. 2.
  • FIG. 4: is a perspective view showing the first step in using the invention.
  • FIG. 5: is a perspective view showing the second step in using the invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention.
  • The following reference numbers and descriptions may refer to elements found in the drawings:
      • 10: is the overall individually packaged beverage invention.
      • 12: is the container.
      • 14: is the lid.
      • 16: is the pull tab.
      • 18: is the perforated tear line.
      • 20: is the outer layer of lid 14.
      • 22: is the inner layer of lid 14.
      • 24: are the flavored ingredients.
      • 26: is the liquid ingredient.
  • There are pre-packaged mixed drinks in the prior art but none in a shot glass with the packaging presently proposed with an easy-to-use peel-off tab with salt or flavored ingredients, individually pre-packaged.
  • The invention described elevates the burden of taking a shot, without the high cost, in an easy-to-use self-packaged shot glass with the flavored ingredients attached, in the peel tab sealing the glass.
  • present invention is aimed to market individual mixed shot drinks, in packaging equipped with all elements to make a shot taste great.
  • This invention is an improvement on what currently exists. Prior to this invention, the only way to take a shot is to go to the bar and order a shot and pay quadruple for what it is worth or buy a whole bottle, salt, and lime (for example, in the case of a traditional tequila shot) to have a shot.
  • Other mixed shots are in bags, cans, bottles, or pouches, not in a shot glass, even though a shot should be taken in a real shot glass.
  • The Version of the Invention Discussed Here Includes:
      • 1. Hard plastic or glass shot glass
      • 2. Double sided foil packet with adhesive on one side capable to attaching to and sealing to the shot glass. The packet may contain a wide variety of possible ingredients, including solid or liquid flavorings, spices, additives, or any other ingredients to be added to a shot as appropriate.
    How the Invention Works:
  • The glass/plastic container holds the liquid, while the foil top is filled with ingredients and also forms as a seal for the glass to prevent leaking.
  • How to Make the Invention:
  • Once the glass is formed with the hard plastic and filled with the liquid, the foil lid/packed is filled with the salt or flavored ingredients. It will then form a seal to prevent the liquid from spilling and also protect the ingredients in the packet.
  • How to Use the Invention:
  • The pre-packaged shots are ready to use: simply peel the foil tab back, tear open the ingredient packet, mix into the liquid beverage, and consume.
  • This packaging could be used for other individual food or drink products that have the need to add ingredients before consumption, with the convenience of having everything in one package.
  • Referring now to the drawings, a method of consuming a beverage comprises:
      • providing an individually packaged beverage 10, comprising:
        • a container 12 containing a liquid ingredient 26;
        • lid 14 attached to the container 12 so as to prevent leakage of the liquid ingredient 26, the lid having a pull tab 16 extending beyond an outer region of the container 12, the lid 14 comprising a pouch having an inner layer 22 and an outer layer 20; and
        • a flavored ingredient 24 located and sealed inside the pouch;
      • pulling the pull tab 16 to remove the lid 14 from the container 12;
      • tearing the lid 14 so as to open the pouch;
      • pouring the flavored ingredient 24 into the liquid ingredient 26;
      • mixing the flavored ingredient 24 with the liquid ingredient 26 to form a mixture; and
      • consuming the mixture.
  • The lid 14 may comprise a perforated tear line 18 or any other indication or pre-indentation to instruct or show a user where to tear the lid 14. The lid may be adhesively attached to the container or may be attached by any other known means, including melting an outer layer of the upper portion of the plastic container 12 and attaching the lid 14 before the liquid plastic has dried. The lid may be made of a plastic, foil, or any other substance known.
  • The flavored ingredient 24 may comprise a granulated solid, such as a salt and lime solids mixture for a traditional tequila shot, and/or may comprise a liquid additive, such as a liquid flavoring or any substance, such as energy boosters such as caffeine, etc.
  • The liquid ingredient 26 may comprise any known alcoholic beverage, but preferably a liquor, such as one of 80 proof (40% by volume), but may include any known liquid.
  • The container 12 may comprise a shot container (e.g., glass or plastic) having a small volume, such as a volume of not more than approximately 80 milliliters, preferably not more than approximately 50 mL.
  • another embodiment, the flavored ingredient may be consumed at a different time as (e.g., either before or after or both) consuming the liquid ingredient. For example, the flavored ingredient 24 may comprise salt (or a flavored salt substance, such as a lime-flavored salt substance) and the liquid ingredient 26 may comprise tequila.
  • It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
