Abstract

A wearable garment (30) comprises a front portion (11), a rear portion (20) attached to sections of the front portion, and an aperture (12) formed in the front portion (11). A pouch formed between the two portions (11 and 20) is adapted to contain a receptacle of tissues (13) to be dispensed one at a time through the aperture (12). The garment further comprises a cover (24) positioned over the aperture (12) to protect the tissues from drying when not in use.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention generally relates to a garment having a tissues dispenser, and more particularly to a bib having an aperture for dispensing disposable wipes or tissues through such aperture.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Wearable garments, such as, for example, kitchen cooking aprons, bibs and baby bibs, are well known in the art and have a variety of known different usages. Wearers of cooking aprons often have the need while working to clean either their hands, their cooking utensils, or their cooking work area. Similarly, during a feeding process of a person, of a baby, or of an infant there is often the need to wipe the person's hands or mouth, the baby or the infant with some tissue or wipes particularly around his or her mouth and face area. In both cases, the wearer of the cooking apron, or the person needing the tissues, or the person feeding the baby or infant has to reach out to a separate supply of tissues or wipes, take a tissue or swipes out of the supply in order to be able to do the desired cleaning.
Thus there exists a need to facilitate to the user access to wiping tissues and make such wiping tissues easily available. Also, commercially available supplies of tissues and of baby wipes are typically packaged in boxes or rolls that are bulky, or if packaged in smaller packs would typically require the use of one's both hands in order to hold the package or roll with one hand and retrieve a tissue out of the package or roll with the other hand.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The foregoing needs are met in an illustrative embodiment of the invention wherein the wearable garment comprises an element of protective material having a front portion and a rear portion, an aperture formed in the element, and holding means positioned on the rear portion of the element for securing a receptacle of tissues proximately to the aperture thereby enabling tissues to be dispensed out of the receptacle and through the aperture.
In accordance with another illustrative embodiment of the invention, the wearable garment comprises a front face portion, a rear portion, and an aperture formed in the front face portion wherein a pouch is formed between the front and rear portions for holding a receptacle of tissues to be dispensed one tissue at a time through the aperture.
In accordance with yet another illustrative embodiment of the invention, the wearable garment is a bib comprising a front face portion, a rear portion attached to sections of the front face portion to form a pouch between the front and rear portions, and an aperture formed in the front face portion for enabling tissues to be dispensed through the aperture.
In accordance with a further embodiment of the invention, the wearable garment is a baby bib further comprising a lid affixed to the front face of the bib and positioned to cover the aperture for protecting wet baby tissues from drying.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

FIG. 1 shows a wearable garment 10, such as for example a bib, a baby bib, a cooking apron, or a similar article, having a front portion 11 and an aperture 12 formed in the front portion 11. Shown in a partial cut-out section of the front portion 11 for clarification purposes, is a receptacle of tissues 13 held against the rear face of the front portion 11. The receptacle of tissues 13 can be held against the rear face of the front portion 11 by an adhesive, or another attachment means such as for an adhesive strip or tape, Velcro tapes, double-side adhesive tape, or similar articles used to temporarily secure two items against each other. The placing and holding of the receptacle 13 against the rear face and relative to the aperture 12 is such that a dispensing opening 14 formed in the receptacle of tissues 13 is proximate to the aperture 12 to enable the pulling of tissues out of the receptacle 13 and through the aperture 12.
FIG. 2 shows a rear view of the wearable garment 10 shown in FIG. 1. In addition to the same elements that are described above with reference to FIG. 1, FIG. 2 shows the receptacle of tissues 13 held against the rear face 15 of the wearable garment 10 by means of at least one adhesive material 16. The adhesive material 16 may be selected from a variety of commercially available products, such as for example adhesive tapes, double-sided adhesive tapes, Velcro tapes, or other types of adhesives that enable the temporary securing of two items against each other. In accordance with an illustrative embodiment of the invention, the receptacle of tissues 13 may be a container of tissues, or a package of disposable tissues, or of baby wet disposable tissues, or any other type of package of wiping tissues that could be dispensed one tissue at a time out of the receptacle 13 and through the aperture 12.
FIG. 3 is a perspective exploded view of a wearable garment 30 in accordance with another illustrative embodiment of the invention. As shown, the wearable garment 30 comprises the front face portion 11 having lower peripheral sections 17, 18 and 19. The aperture 12 is formed in the front portion 11. Also shown is a rear second portion 20 shaped to be secured along its peripheral sections 21, 22 and 23 respectively to the peripheral sections 17, 18 and 19 of the front face portion 11. The two portions 11 and 20 can be attached or secured together along their respective peripheries 17-19 and 21-23 either by sewing them, or gluing them, or by attaching them in any other commercially available manner used to secure together pieces of wearable materials. The materials used for the two portions 11 and 20 may be selected among commercially available washable materials, waterproof materials, or any other material used in the garment industry. Alternatively and in accordance with another illustrative embodiment, the second portion 20 may be part of an extended section of the front face portion 11 that is then folded back along the lower peripheral section 18 and secured to the first portion 11 along the peripheral sections 17 and 19. A pouch for receiving the receptacle 13 is thus formed consisting of a unitary material between the front portions 11 and the rear portion 15 (shown in FIG. 2) of the wearable garment.
The receptacle 13 of tissues, or other cleaning or wiping elements, is shown to fit within a pouch formed when both portions 11 and 20 are secured together along their respective peripheral sections, or when a unitary material is used for the front and rear portions of the garment. The receptacle 13 is positioned within the pouch such that its dispensing opening 14 is proximate to the aperture 12 to enable the pulling of tissues from the front side of the garment out of the opening 14 and through the aperture 12. As already mentioned above, the receptacle 13 may be a package of disposable tissues, or of wet tissues advantageously used for wiping babies, infants, or persons having a similar need.
In accordance with another illustrative embodiment, a cover 24 is attached to the front face portion 11 and adapted to cover the aperture 12 in order to prevent the wet tissues or wipes from drying when not in use. As shown in FIG. 3, the cover 24 is in its open position. Alternatively and in accordance with yet another illustrative embodiment, in the event that the package 13 of wet disposable tissues includes already a protective lid over its dispensing opening 14, the size and shape of the aperture 12 will be such as to allow a user to reach through the aperture to open the protective lid in order to pull a wet tissue out of the package and through the dispensing opening 14 and the aperture 12.
It is to be understood that the above-described illustrative embodiments have been presented merely to illustrate the pertinent inventive concepts of the present invention. Numerous other modifications may be devised by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit, principles, teachings and scope of the invention.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A wearable garment comprising an element of protective material having a front portion and a rear portion, an aperture formed in the element, and holding means positioned on the rear portion of the element for securing a receptacle of tissues proximately to said aperture thereby enabling tissues to be dispensed out of the receptacle and through said aperture.

2. A wearable garment according to claim 1, wherein the tissues are wet disposable tissues and the garment further comprises a cover affixed to the front portion and positioned over the aperture to protect the tissues from drying.

3. A wearable garment according to claim 1, wherein the holding means include at least one adhesive strip affixed to the rear portion proximate to the aperture for holding the receptacle of tissues against the rear portion.

4. A wearable garment comprising a front portion, a rear portion attached to sections of the front portion thereby forming a pouch between said front and said rear portions, and an aperture formed in the front portion for enabling tissues to be dispensed through said aperture.

5. A wearable garment according to claim 4, wherein the pouch between the front and rear portions is adapted to receive a receptacle of tissues to be dispensed one tissue at a time through the aperture.

6. A wearable garment according to claim 5, wherein the tissues are wet disposable tissues and the garment further comprises a cover positioned over the aperture to protect the tissues from drying.

7. A wearable garment according to claim 4, wherein the front portion and the rear portion are two sections of a single material that is folded and attached along partial peripheral sections thereof thereby forming a pouch between the front and rear portions.

8. A wearable garment according to claim 7, wherein the pouch between the front portion and the rear portion is adapted to receive a package of tissues to be dispensed one at a time through said aperture.

9. A bib comprising a front face portion, a rear portion attached to sections of the front face portion to form a pouch between the front and rear portions, and an aperture formed in the front face portion for enabling tissues to be dispensed through said aperture.

10. A bib according to claim 9, wherein the pouch between the front face portion and the rear portion is adapted to receive a package of tissues to be dispensed one at a time through said aperture.

11. A bib according to claim 10, wherein the tissues are wet disposable tissues and the bib further comprises a cover affixed to the front face portion and positioned over the aperture to protect the tissues from drying.

12. A bib according to claim 9, wherein the front face portion and the rear portion are two sections of a single material that is folded and attached along partial peripheral sections thereof thereby forming a pouch between the front face portion and the rear portion.

13. A bib according to claim 12, wherein the pouch between the front face portion and the rear portion is adapted to receive a package of tissues to be dispensed one at a time through said aperture.

14. A bib comprising an element of wearable protective material having a front portion and a rear portion, an aperture formed in the element, and holding means positioned on the rear portion of the element for securing a receptacle of tissues proximately to said aperture thereby enabling tissues to be dispensed out of the receptacle and through said aperture.

15. A bib according to claim 14, wherein the tissues are wet disposable tissues and the bib further comprises a cover affixed to the front portion and positioned over the aperture to protect the tissues from drying.

16. A bib according to claim 14, wherein the holding means include at least one adhesive strip affixed to the rear portion proximate to the aperture for holding the receptacle of tissues against the rear portion.
