Description
- The invention relates to a polishing device for polishing a component with an elongate polishing element.
- In the State of the Art, methods and device for regrinding, in particular rolls in hot rolled strip rolling stands, are known. Due to the contact with the strip, the rolls take on scale and other cake products. These impurities are pressed on, for the next strip, on the surface of the to-be-wound strip. Thus, marks are formed on a finished hot rolled strip. To prevent this, usually, the rolls are provided with polishing or grinding devices which polish away the caking on the rolls in regular intervals.
- Thus, EP 0154319 B1 discloses a roll grinding device for rolling plants having a housing for positioning of the roll grinding device in vicinity of a roll. The device is displaced transverse to the roll by means of a housing guide extending along the roll axis, with the housing being secured on the housing guide with a possibility of displacement in the transverse direction. In the housing, a grindstone is arranged, reciprocating relative to the roll axis.
- EP 0824975 A1 discloses a method of and a device for regrinding rolls provided in a hot rolled strip rolling stand and having at least a pot-shaped rotatably driven grinding tool oscillatingly movable parallel to the roll axis. The pressure force of the grinding tool is applied to the roll by means of displaceably driven compressed air means.
- E 0573035 B1 discloses a roll grinding arrangement having a grinding disc extending toward a roll of a roll pair for grinding that roll. The grinding disc is driven with a spindle by a grinding disc driving device, wherein for applying pressure of the grinding disc to the roll, there is provided a grinding disc displacing device. For axial displacement of the grinding disc an additional driving device is provided.
- The drawback of the above-described known grinding devices consists in an expansive construction of the drive units for adjusting and displacement of the grinding device with respect to the component as well as in noticeably large mounting space necessary for arrangement of the grinding device with the drive unit and control elements.
- The object of the invention is a polishing device for components which is flexible with regard to maintainability and regrinding, compact, can be cost-effectively mounted from several sides, and improves the quality of the polishing process.
- According to the invention, this object is achieved by features of claim 1. It is particular characterized in that the pressure element is formed at least as a pressurized hose. With the inventive arrangement of a hose-shaped pressure element in connection with a polishing element divided in adjustment segments, it is possible to provide, with a small mounting space in a longitudinal direction of the components, for a uniform force for pressuring the polishing element against the component. The advantage consists in gap-loose adaptation of the profile to the upper surface of the component in the longitudinal direction with identical pressure forces also for components having non-linear or uneven surfaces. With a compact constructional volume of the polishing device flexible and cost-effective fitting in the available plants is possible. Because of a small volume, the polishing device is maintenance-friendly.
- According to a first embodiment of the invention, the pressure element is so formed that it is pressurized with a pressure medium. Dependent on the plant, it is thus possible to apply hydraulic or pneumatic pressure to the polishing element in accordance with available means, which is exactly the advantage of fitting in the existing plants.
- According to a further embodiment of the invention, a control for controlling the pressure force of the pressure element is provided. Dependent on the material of a polished component, according to the invention, it is possible to provide for a corresponding pressure applied by the polishing element in advance.
- According to still further embodiment features, the polishing element is displaceably arranged within the housing on a sidewise guide surface. The advantage of this consists in that the housing serves simultaneously as a mounting space and as a guide for the polishing element, insuring a controlled and stable adjustment of the polishing element against the component. The double function of the housing, in addition, provides for saving of the mounting space.
- Further, the invention contemplates such an arrangement of the polishing element in the housing that only a portion of the polishing element projects from the housing with a distance A at the working point. Thereby, an unnecessary space for adjusting the polishing element is dispensed with. With a short projection of the polishing element, the bending torque transmitted by the component to the polishing element is kept small. Advantageously, thereby, the polishing element can have smaller dimensions.
- According to a further feature of the embodiment, a stop is provided on the housing which limits the displacement path of the polishing element. Thus, the polishing element is reliably guided in the housing and is adjusted only to a maximum possible working length.
- In one embodiment of the invention, the polishing element is formed of a grindstone.
- According to a further embodiment of the invention, the polishing element is formed, in the circumferential direction of the component, of several parts in form of segment sections, and is locally individually adjusted. With this inventive arrangement, the polishing element is adjustable with respect to the profile of the component not only in direction of the longitudinal axis Z but also is adjusted over its circumference radially with respect to the surface of the component. Thereby, a high quality, uniform grinding surface is formed.
- According to an embodiment of the invention, the component has a shape of a roll.
- The invention will now be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
- The drawings show:
-
FIG. 1 a polishing device formed of a housing, a pressure element, and an elongate polishing element adjustable against a workpiece; and -
FIG. 2 adjusting of the polishing device in a direction of a longitudinal axis of the workpiece with a hose-shaped pressure element. -
FIG. 1 shows apolishing device 100 for aworkpiece 200 and having apolishing element 110 adjustable parallel to the longitudinal axis Z of theworkpiece 200 against asurface 205 of thecomponent 200. For housing thepolishing element 110 and apressure element 130 that presses thepolishing element 110 against theworkpiece 200, there is provided ahousing 120 in which thepressure element 130 is supported between thebearing surface 123 of thehousing 120 and thepolishing element 110. According to the invention, thepressure element 130 is formed as at least pressurized hose, with the pressure being provided with pressure means hydraulically or pneumatically. Acontrol 300 controls the pressure applied by thepressure element 130 against thepolishing element 110. - Dependent on the length of the polished workpiece, according to an alternative embodiment, not shown, it is contemplated to form the
pressure element 130 of several elongate hose sections which are pressurized either separately or simultaneously by being connected with each other. The advantage of forming thepressure element 130 of several hose sections arranged in the longitudinal direction of the longitudinal axis Z of the workpiece consists in that thepolishing element 110 can be adjusted with respect to the surface profile of theworkpiece 200 over a large length flexibly and simultaneously. According to the invention, eachpressure element 130 is preferably connected with aseparate control 300 for adjusting the pressure applied by thepolishing element 110. According toFIG. 1 , thepolishing element 110 is formed as a one-piece element in a circumferential direction of theworkpiece 200. According to a variant of the invention, the polishing element can also be formed of several sections in the circumferential direction of theworkpiece 200. With this, thepolishing device 100 can be adapted to a curvature of the workpiece in the circumferential direction and, thereby, would flatly abut thesurface 205 of theworkpiece 200 in this case. This results in a better use of the polishing element as well as in an improved, uniformed surface quality. - The polishing element is so arranged in the
housing 120 that it projects from the housing with as small as possible projection A. Thereby, a bending torque applied to thepolishing element 110 when thepolishing device 100 is pressed against theworkpiece 200, is kept as small as possible. Thepolishing element 110 is displaced in thehousing 120 over aguide surface 122. This makes possible a stabilized and linear adjustment of thepolishing element 110. In thehousing 120, there is provided afirst stop 121 for thepolishing element 110 against which thepolishing element 110 abuts with asecond stop 124. In this case, a maximal working displacement of thepolishing element 110 is achieved, and a replacement of thepolishing element 110 is possible. This is usually affected by a simple sidewise push of thepolishing element 110 out of thehousing 120. -
FIG. 2 shows adjustment of thepolishing device 100 relative to theouter surface 205 of theworkpiece 200 in the direction of the longitudinal axis Z of theworkpiece 200. The polishingelement 110 is formed, in the direction of the longitudinal axis Z of theworkpiece 200, of adjustment sections 110-1, 110-2, . . . 110-n. This arrangement insures a flexible, correspondingly adaptable, to the roll profile, adjustment of the sections without clearances therebetween. Between thehousing 120 and the polishingelement 110, thepressure element 130 is arranged for adjusting and pressing thepolishing element 110 against theroll surface 205. - The
polishing device 100, which is shown inFIGS. 1 and 2 , is particularly suitable for polishing rolls within a roll train for producing a hot rolled strip. Advantageously, thepolishing device 100 is used for polishing pressure rollers of a hot rolled strip reel that bends the hot rolled strip about a reel mandrel. A further advantageous field of use of theinventive polishing device 100 is in straightening machine for rolled goods for polishing the straightening rollers. Because o a small constructional volume, simple construction, and cost-effective design of thepolishing device 100, other technical uses are conceivable such a, e.g., the use within NE-metal rolling plants, wood treatment machines, backery equipment, pressure machines, or in concrete plants. Generally, everywhere where the rollers for removal of produce impurity are used, the surfaces of rollers or rolls can be polished or ground with theinventive polishing device 100. - 100 Polishing device
