FIGS. 1-2 , a mounting apparatus in accordance with an embodiment is configured for securing a plurality ofPCI cards 50 each with apin portion 52. The mounting apparatus includes achassis 70, alocking mechanism 30, and a plurality ofsecuring plates 60. - The
chassis 70 includes abottom wall 72 and asidewall 71 connected to thebottom wall 72. In one embodiment, thesidewall 71 is substantially perpendicular to thebottom wall 72. A printedcircuit board 10, such as a motherboard, is secured to an inner surface of thebottom wall 72. A plurality ofPCI connectors 11 is located on the printedcircuit board 10 and are capable of receiving thepin portions 52 of thePCI cards 50 to be electronically connected with the printedcircuit board 10. The printedcircuit board 10 defines two throughholes 15. A supportingportion 712 is located on an inner surface of thesidewall 71. - Referring to
FIG. 3 , thelocking mechanism 30 includes a securingmember 31 and a plurality oflatch members 33 capable of being secured to the securingmember 31. - The securing
member 31 includes amain portion 311. Themain portion 311 extends along a direction and defines twosecuring holes 3112, corresponding to throughholes 15 of the printedcircuit board 10. A plurality ofblocks 313 is located on themain portion 311. Aholding space 3131 is defined between each twoadjacent blocks 313, configured for receiving thelatch members 33. Twoprotrusions 3135 are located in eachholding spaces 3131 and extend towards each other. Agap 3137 is defined between eachprotrusion 3135 and themain portion 311. - Each
latch member 33 includes alocking portion 331, afirst lever 335 and asecond lever 337. Thelocking portion 331 includes afirst tab 3311 and asecond tab 3313 at each of opposite sides. Asecuring slot 3315 is defined between thefirst tab 3311 and thesecond tab 3313, configured for receiving theprotrusion 3135 of the securingmember 31. Thefirst tabs 3311 are configured to be inserted into thegaps 3137 of the securingmember 31. Thefirst lever 335 has a length greater than that of thesecond lever 337. Aslit 339, defined between thefirst lever 335 and thesecond lever 337, receives thePCI card 50. - Each
securing plate 60 is secured to onePCI card 50 and is capable of securing thePCI card 50 to the supportingportion 712 of thesidewall 71 of thechassis 70. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 4 , the printedcircuit board 10 is fixed on thebottom wall 72 of thechassis 70. The securingmember 31 of thelocking mechanism 30 is placed on the printedcircuit board 10, and the securingholes 3112 of the securingmember 31 correspond to the throughholes 15 of the printedcircuit board 10. Two fasteners (not shown), such as screws, are screwed into the securingholes 3112 and the throughholes 15 to secure the securingmember 31 to the printedcircuit board 10 or thebottom wall 72. - The
pin portions 52 of thePCI cards 50 are inserted into thePCI connectors 11 of the printedcircuit board 10. ThePCI cards 50 are substantially perpendicular to thesidewall 71 of thechassis 70. Thesecuring plates 60 are secured to thesupport portion 712 of thesidewall 71, and one end of eachPCI card 50 is adjacent to the securingmember 31. Thelocking portions 331 of thelatch members 33 are inserted into theholding spaces 3131 of the securingmember 31 along a first direction substantially perpendicular to thesidewall 71 and the extending direction of themain body 3311. Thefirst tabs 3311 of the securingmember 31 are received ingaps 3137 of the securingmember 31. Theprotrusions 3135 of the securingmember 31 are received in the securing slots 35 of thelatch member 33. The ends of thePCI cards 50 are received in theslits 339 of thelatch member 33.
