Description
- This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 61/473,294 filed on Apr. 8, 2011.
- This invention relates furniture Which stores hobby miniatures and models.
- One of the difficulties of displaying hobby miniatures and models is that the hobby miniatures and models frequently are insulated and cannot be seen. Other systems in use generally focus only on protection of the hobby miniatures and models. This is often done with the use of separate foam compartments for each miniature or model. The present system of railing, trays, and sub-frays combined with the use of small magnets allows for organized storage while providing full visibility and accessibility to the miniatures and models for regular use.
- The present invention includes methods, systems, and other means for storing and displaying hobby miniatures and models.
- Having thus described the invention in general terms, reference will now be made to the accompanying drawings, which are not necessarily drawn to scale, and wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is an upper perspective front view of the invention shown in use. -
FIG. 2 is an upper perspective rear exploded view of the invention illustrated with an exemplary configuration. -
FIG. 3 is a top perspective detail view of theinvention component 18 bevel module only. -
FIG. 4 is a bottom perspective view of theinvention component 18 bevel module only. -
FIG. 5 is a bottom perspective exploded view of the invention -
FIG. 6 is a section detail view of the invention along line 6-6 inFIG. 1 . - Embodiments of the present invention overcome many of the obstacles associated with storing hobby miniatures and models, and now will be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings that show some, but not all embodiments of the claimed inventions. Indeed, the invention may be embodied. in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein. Rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will satisfy applicable legal requirements. Like numbers refer to like elements throughout.

FIG. 1 shows the invention in use.Exemplary attachment structure 12 is mechanically coupled to railedwall mount module 14, by railed wall mountmodule mount hole 32, as shown in more detail inFIG. 6 .Tray module 16 is immediately adjacent to railedwall mount module 14 and comprises afirst bevel module 18, asecond bevel module 18, and athird bevel module 18. Notably, thefirst bevel module 18 can further comprise a first bevel module textured surface, thesecond bevel module 18 can further comprise a second bevel module textured surface, and thethird bevel module 18 can further comprise a third bevel module textured surface as shown inFIG. 3 and a bevel module logo region as shown inFIG. 4 . - The
first bevel module 18 comprises 3×2tray module 20. 3×2tray module 20 further comprises six largetray module holes 30. Thesecond bevel module 18 comprises 3×4tray module 22. 3×4tray module 22 comprises 12 mediumtray module holes 28. Thethird bevel module 18 comprises 4×4tray module 24. 4×4tray module 24 further comprises 16 smalltray module holes 26. As shown inFIG. 1 , an exemplary hobby in each smalltray module hole 26, each mediumtray module hole 28, and each largetray module hole 30. -
FIG. 2 shows an explosion view of the modular display and tray storage system. Railedwall mount module 14 comprises railed wallmount module rail 36 and railed wallmodule mount hole 32.Tray module 16 comprises traymodule rail slot 38. As shown, tray module 16 can be mechanically coupled to railedwall mount module 14 by inserting traymodule rail slot 38 on railedwall module rail 36. In some embodiments, railed wallmount module rail 36 further comprises railed wall mount module rail magnets and traymodule rail slot 38 further comprises tray module rail slot magnets. This allows a user to mechanically coupletray module 16 to railedwall mount module 14 with magnets. - To assemble the device a user inserts 4×4
tray module 24 onto a first trayminiature rest floor 34, and then inserts the first trayminiature rest floor 34 onto thefirst bevel module 18. The user then inserts thefirst bevel module 18 ontotray module 16. Next, the user inserts 3×4tray module 22 onto a second trayminiature rest floor 34 and then inserts the second miniature traymodel rest floor 34 onto thesecond bevel module 18. The user then inserts thesecond bevel module 18 ontotray module 16. Next, the user inserts 3×2tray module 20 onto a third trayminiature rest floor 34 and then inserts the third miniature traymodel rest floor 34 onto thethird bevel module 18. The user then inserts the third is allmodule 18 ontotray module 16. -
FIG. 3 shows a corner ofbevel module 18.Bevel module 18 comprises bevel moduletextured surface 42 as noted above. -
FIG. 4 shows bevel module 18.Bevel module 18 can comprise traymodule logo region 40. -
FIG. 5 showstray module 16, which comprises railed wallmount module rail 38 as noted above. A user can mechanically coupletray module 16 to railedwall mount module 14 by inserting traymodule rail slot 38 onto railed wallmount module rail 36. -
FIG. 6 shows a. section view of railedwall mount module 14. Railedwall mount module 14 comprises railed wall mountmodule mount hole 32 and railed wallmount module rail 36 as noted above. Traymodule rail slot 38 can easily fit over railed wallmount module rail 36 to mechanicallycouple tray module 16 to railedwall mount module 14. Further, a user can insert a fastener through railed wall mountmodule mount hole 32 intoexemplary attachment structure 12 using any known technology.
