Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a hair dressing device for immobilizing the hair and more particularly, to such a hair dressing device, which is practical for use to roll up the hair from a long hair style to a short hair style and to hold the dressed hair in shape.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- It is the nature that people love beautiful things. More particularly, female persons do care about the beauty of their face and hair. Many hair ornamental devices and hair dressing devices are commercially available. Further, some people love long hair, some others love short hair. Many female persons would keep their hair long. A long hairstyle shows a special sense of beauty. However, long hair may gather heat around the neck, causing discomfort. In this case, one may braid the hair, or curl the tail of the hair and use a hairpin or like means to hold the hair in a curled condition. It is not easy to arrange a long hair in this way. You may need another people's help when arranging the long hair into a short form. Further, it takes much time to arrange the long hair into a short form.
- The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is one object of the present invention to provide a hair dressing device, which is practical for use to roll up the hair from a long hair style to a short hair style and to hold the dressed hair in shape.
- To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a hair dressing device comprises a device body and two hair clips respectively located on two distal ends of the device body for securing the device body to the hair of a person. The device body comprises a first clamping arm, a second clamping arm and a clamping area defined in between the first clamping arm and the second clamping arm. The first clamping arm and the second clamping arm each have a fixed end and a free end. The fixed ends of the first clamping arm and the second clamping arm are connected together. The first clamping arm comprises a retaining hole located on the free end thereof. The second clamping arm comprises a retaining pin located on the free end thereof and detachably fastenable to the retaining hole of the first clamping arm.
- Further, the device body comprises a plurality of teeth respectively perpendicularly extended from the first clamping arm and the second clamping arm and suspending in the clamping area and spaced along the length thereof in a stagger manner.
- Further, the retaining pin has an enlarged head. The retaining hole comprises a big diameter portion greater than the diameter of the enlarged head of the retaining pin and a small diameter portion smaller than the diameter of the enlarged head of the retaining pin.
- Further, each hair clip comprises a springy open frame defining therein an elongated opening, and a springy clamping strip. The springy clamping strip has one end thereof fixedly connected to one end of the springy open frame and an opposite end thereof suspending in said elongated opening.

FIG. 10 corresponds toFIG. 9 illustrating the hair clip closed. - Referring to
FIG. 1 , a hair dressing device in accordance with the present invention is shown for styling and winding thehair 2 of a person. The hair dressing device comprises adevice body 1, and twohair clips 15 respectively located on the two distal ends of thedevice body 1, Thedevice body 1 comprises afirst clamping arm 11 and asecond clamping arm 12. Thefirst clamping arm 11 and thesecond clamping arm 12 each have a fixed end and a free end. The fixed ends of thefirst clamping arm 11 and thesecond clamping arm 12 are connected together. Subject to the elastic material property, thefirst clamping arm 11 and thesecond clamping arm 12 can be moved relative to each other within a certain range between a close position where the free ends of thefirst clamping arm 11 and thesecond clamping arm 12 are attached together and an open position where the free ends of thefirst clamping arm 11 and thesecond clamping arm 12 are kept apart. Thefirst clamping arm 11 comprises a plurality ofteeth 111 spaced along the length and facing thesecond clamping arm 12. Thesecond clamping arm 12 comprises a plurality ofteeth 121 spaced along the length and facing thefirst clamping arm 11 in a staggered manner relative to theteeth 111 of thefirst clamping arm 11. Aclamping area 14 is defined in between thefirst clamping arm 11 and thesecond clamping arm 12. When the free ends of thefirst clamping arm 11 and thesecond clamping arm 12 are kept apart from each other, anentrance 13 is defined in between the free ends of thefirst clamping arm 11 and thesecond clamping arm 12 for enabling thehair 2 of a person to be set in theclamping area 14. Further, thefirst clamping arm 11 comprises aretaining pin 123 perpendicularly extended from the free end thereof. Theretaining pin 123 has an enlargedhead 1231. Further, thesecond clamping arm 12 comprises aretaining hole 112 located on the free end thereof. Theretaining hole 112 comprises abig diameter portion 113 and asmall diameter portion 114. - Referring to
FIGS. 3-7 andFIGS. 1 and 2 again, when using the hair dressing device, insert thehair 2 through theentrance 13 into theclamping area 14, and then slightly curve thesecond clamping arm 12 to force the enlargedhead 1231 of theretaining pin 123 through thebig diameter portion 113 of theretaining hole 112, and then release the hand for enabling thesecond clamping arm 12 to return to its former shape subject to the effect of its elastic material property and to force the retainingpin 123 into thesmall diameter portion 114. Thus, thehair 2 is secured in the arranged style by the 111 and 121. Thereafter, roll up the hair dressing device and the clamped part of theteeth hair 2, and then fasten the twohair clips 15 to the other part of thehair 2 to keep the dressed part of thehair 2 in place (seeFIG. 8 ). - Referring to
FIGS. 9 and 10 , eachhair clip 15 comprises a springyopen frame 151 defining therein anelongated opening 152, and aspringy clamping strip 153 that has its one end fixedly connected to one end of the springyopen frame 151 and its other end suspending in theelongated opening 152, When curving the springyopen frame 151, thespringy clamping strip 153 is forced to project out of theelongated opening 152. When release the pressure from the springyopen frame 151, thespringy clamping strip 153 immediately return to their former position. - A prototype of hair dressing device has been constructed with the features of
FIGS. 1-10 . The hair dressing device functions smoothly to provide all of the features disclosed earlier. - Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
