Definitions
- the invention relates to a one-piece garment which has at least one closing device running around the sides. With this at least one lateral closing device, the wearer of the garment can open the seat region of the garment in such a way that said user can use the toilet without taking off the one-piece garment.
- the invention relates in particular to a one-piece garment with two zip fasteners, which respectively run around the sides of the garment, and consequently allow opening of a seat region.
- U.S. Pat. No. 5,163,182 describes a jumpsuit with a seat region that can be opened.
- the jumpsuit has a separate seat part in the seat region.
- the seat part has an elastic waistband and side edges. The side edges are joined to the jumpsuit by means of foldable intermediate pieces.
- the seat part is fastened to the jumpsuit, for example, by means of buttons located at the ends of the waistband.
- buttons are fastened in corresponding button holes in the jumpsuit.
- the intermediate pieces are respectively folded to form a pocket. If the button fastening is undone, the seat part falls down loosely and can be pulled over the buttocks in the direction of the legs. In this case, the length of the intermediate pieces between the jumpsuit and the seat part determines the extent to which the seat region can be opened. This design is undesirable for closely fitting cycling wear, since the elastic waistband at the back, the lateral buttons and the foldable pockets are uncomfortable to wear.
- the intermediate pieces must be made to large dimensions in order that the separate seat part can be pulled sufficiently over the buttocks.
- WO 2009/021621 A1 describes a pair of one-piece cycling pants which have a zip fastener in the crotch region in order to make using the toilet easier.
- the patent application provides measures that make the presence of a zip fastener in the crotch comfortable, it is nevertheless undesirable to provide materials and/or items that may cause friction at this location.
- a zip fastener opening at the crotch cannot be made large enough.
- An object of the present invention is therefore to provide a one-piece garment which allows the seat region to the opened easily and to a sufficient extent in order to use a toilet.
- an object of the present invention is to provide a one-piece garment, such as a pair of cycling bib pants, which consists of an elastic material and allows the seat region to be opened easily and to a sufficient extent in order to use a toilet.
- an object of the present invention is to provide a one-piece garment, such as a pair of one-piece cycling bib pants, which can open the seat region easily and to a sufficient extent in order to use a toilet without further garments that are over the bib pants being taken off.
- a one-piece garment for covering upper and lower body parts of a wearer, having a front part and a back part with a seat region.
- the garment has a right-hand garment side and a left-hand garment side and a waist region.
- the garment also has at least one closing device with an end part and a beginning part, the at least one closing device being arranged laterally along the right-hand garment side and the left-hand garment side in such a way that at least the end part is arranged in the front part of the garment in order to make it possible for the seat region to be opened.
- the front part of the garment is understood as meaning the part that covers the body downward from the shoulder and neckline region of the wearer.
- the back part of the garment is understood as meaning the part that covers the back of the wearer and body parts of the wearer downward therefrom.
- the seat region is in this case part of the back part and refers to the part of the garment that covers the buttocks or the seat.
- the upper part and the lower part of the garment the upper part covering the body above the waist and the lower part covering the body below the waist.
- the position of the at least one closing device running laterally along the right-hand and left-hand garment sides makes it possible that the garment can be opened in the back part.
- the seat region is separated from the upper back part and the buttocks are exposed. It is advantageous in this respect that the upper part of the garment does not slip and that garments over it do not have to be taken off.
- the arrangement of the end part of the at least one closing device in the front part has the advantage that, when the closing device is opened, separation of the one part garment into two separate parts cannot take place, since the end part does not allow unrestricted opening of the at least one closing device.
- the closing device may be a zip fastener with teeth or with sealing lips, a button or stud fastening (press studs or button with button hole), a Velcro fastening or other known closing mechanisms for joining two parts.
- the closing device is preferably continuous in the sense of uninterrupted, such as for example a zip fastener.
- Known closing devices are not elastic.
- the at least one closing device has an end part and a beginning part.
- the beginning part is understood as meaning the part of the closing device from where the opening of the closing device begins (or where the closing operation ends).
- the beginning part is the region where the zip fastener slider begins to open the zip fastener teeth or the sealing lips.
- the beginning part is of an open design, i.e. the two zip fastener stringers are not joined at the ends thereof and are separate.
- the beginning part is of a closed design, i.e. the two zip fastener stringers are brought together at the ends thereof to form an inseparable unit.
- the zip fastener slider cannot slide out from the teeth or the sealing lips of a zip fastener stringer.
- the end part is understood as meaning the part of the closing device where the opening of the closing device ends (or where the closing operation starts).
- the end part is, in particular, a closed end part which limits the opening of the closing device and ensures that the garment remains in one piece.
- the end part is configured as a closed end part in such a way that it cannot be separated by the zip fastener slider into two separate zip fastener stringers.
- the two zip fastener stringers may be brought together in the end part to form an inseparable end thereof. Consequently, the pulling-open movement of the zip fastener slider, that is to say the opening of a zip fastener, is stopped at the closed end part.
- the closing of the zip fastener teeth or the sealing lips begins at the end part as soon as is the zip fastener slider is moved in the direction of the beginning part.
- the end part and the beginning part of the at least one closing device lie in the front part, so that, with the opening of the closing part from the beginning part toward the end part, the seat region opens laterally along the right-hand and left-hand garment sides and downward in the back part, and can consequently be pulled over the buttocks.
- the upper part of the garment remains unchanged in its wearing position and other garments over it can be kept on.
- the beginning part and the end part are of a closed design in order to ensure the one piece fitted form.
- the closing device is preferably a zip fastener running around the waist region, the beginning part of the closed closing device having the zip fastener slider. The movement of the slider in the direction of the end part opens the teeth of the zip fastener.
- the garment has at least one elastic component with a stretching zone.
- the elastic component may comprise an elastic material.
- the garment is produced at least partly or completely from an elastic material.
- the elastic material makes it possible for the cycling pants to be worn in a closely fitting and snug manner. All materials, in particular textiles, that can be stretched and have corresponding recovery properties, so that the elastic material can resume its original state after stretching, come into consideration for use as the elastic material.
- the textile itself may have elastic properties, such as for example as a result of corresponding knitting processes.
- the textile may obtain elastic properties by the addition of elastane (a stretchable synthetic fiber).
- elastane is mixed with the at least one further type of fiber of which the textile consists.
- An elastic textile should in this case comprise at least 1% elastane.
- the elastane content is between 3% and 5%, in further embodiments the elastane content may be over 20%, such as for example 22%.
- a knitwear of 78% polyamide and 22% elastane is used as the elastic material.
- the stretching zone is in the front part.
- a stretching zone may also be arranged in the back part, or in the front part and the back part.
- the stretching zone has the function of compensating for stresses between the elastic material component and the usually inelastic at least one closing device, such as the zip fastener, in such a way that wearing of the garment appropriately for a snug fit and without any creases continues to be possible.
- the stretching zone is arranged between the end part and the beginning part of the closing device and is preferably in the form of an opening in the elastic material or in the form of a specifically stretchable material.
- the one-piece garment has a first closing device and a second closing device.
- the first closing device is arranged laterally around the left-hand garment side between the front part and the back part.
- the second closing device is arranged laterally around the right-hand garment side between the front part and the back part.
- the end parts of the first and second closing devices are arranged in the front part.
- the beginning parts of the first and second closing devices are arranged facing each other in the back part in order to allow opening of the seat region.
- the first and second closing devices are preferably formed as zip fasteners.
- the closing devices may be opened respectively around the right-hand garment side and left-hand garment side, starting from the back part and proceeding in the direction of the front part.
- the end parts in the front part stop the opening of the respective closing device.
- the end parts prevent the opening of the closing devices from possibly separating the garment completely into an upper part and a lower part. Rather, only the seat region is opened in the back part and at the sides, and is consequently separated from the upper back part. In this way, the seat region can be pulled over the buttocks.
- the upper back part remains in its original position.
- the first and second closing devices are arranged in the waist region.
- the garment as provided by this embodiment likewise has at least one elastic component and at least one stretching zone, the stretching zone being arranged in the front part and/or back part.
- the stretching zone is likewise arranged in the waist region.
- the at least one stretching zone is arranged between the end parts of the first and second closing devices or between the beginning parts of the first and second closing devices. Consequently, a stretchable region is created between the end parts or the beginning parts of the non-elastic closing is device.
- first stretching zone in the front part and a second stretching zone in the back part.
- first stretching zone may have a first opening in the front part and the second stretching zone may have a second opening in the back part.
- first and second closing devices are respectively arranged between the first stretching zone and the second stretching zone. This ensures that no troublesome creases or unevennesses occur within the elastic material.
- the end parts of the first and second zip fasteners are assigned to the first stretching zone and the beginning parts of the first and second zip fasteners are assigned to the second stretching zone.

- the pants may have long pant legs or short pant legs.
- the upper part may have a garment covering the upper body, such as a T-shirt or jersey with short or long sleeves.
- a waist region 20 is the region of the garment that is located in the region of the narrowest girth of a wearer, the waist. In the clothing industry, the waist is usually made visible by a waistline (see FIGS. 3 to 7 ).
- the waist region 20 is the region above and below the waistline; it is usually the region above the hips and below the chest region of a wearer.
- the garment 10 represented as a pair of bib pants, also has a front part 12 and a back part 14 with a seat region 16 as well as an upper part 11 and a lower part 13 .
- the upper part 11 has in the front part 12 two strap parts, which begin in the waist region 20 and reach over the shoulder region into the back part 14 .
- the back part 14 is formed as an uninterrupted clothing part which covers the back.
- the lower part 13 has short pant legs.
- the bib pants 10 are produced at least partly from an elastic material in order that close fitting of the bib pants 10 on the wearer's skin is ensured. If the bib pants 10 are produced entirely from an elastic material, they are also referred to as stretch pants, which can for instance be stretched beyond the body dimensions of the wearer.
- the textile itself may have elastic properties, such as for example as a result of corresponding knitting processes.
- a textile may obtain elastic properties by the addition of elastane (a stretchable synthetic fiber).
- elastane is mixed with the at least one further type of fiber of which the textile consists.
- An elastic textile should comprise at least 1% elastane.
- the elastane content is between 3% and 5%, in further embodiments the elastane content may be over 20%, such as for example 22%.
- the bib pants are produced mainly from an elastic textile with 78% polyamide and 22% elastane.
- the bib pants are produced partly from elastic material and partly from non-elastic material.
- the bib pants 10 have a right-hand garment side 17 and a left-hand garment side 18 .
- the right-hand garment side 17 is the side of the bib pants 10 where the right arm of the wearer is located during the wearing of the bib pants 10 .
- the right-hand garment side 17 consequently covers parts of the right-hand half of the wearer's body.
- the left-hand garment side 18 is the side of the bib pants 10 where the left arm of the wearer is located during the wearing of the bib pants 10 .
- the left-hand garment side 18 consequently covers parts of the left-hand half of the wearer's body.
- the embodiment as shown in FIG. 1 also has two closing devices 26 , 28 , only the beginning part 25 B of the second closing device 28 being visible.
- the first closing device 26 runs laterally around the left-hand garment side 18 between the front part 12 and the back part 14 .
- the second closing device 28 (not visible in FIG. 1 ) runs laterally around the right-hand garment side 17 between the front part 12 and the back part 14 .
- the first closing device 26 has a beginning part 25 A and an end part 23 A (not visible in FIG. 1 ); the second closing device 28 has a beginning part 25 B and an end part 23 B (not visible in FIG. 1 ).
- a closing device should be understood as referring to all known systems for joining two opposite sides of a material. These include, for example, zip fasteners, zip fasteners with sealing lips instead of teeth (pressing of two sealing lips), buttons or studs, such as for example press studs, and Velcro fasteners.
- zip fasteners from the company YKK Kunststoff GmbH, Mainhausen, Germany or the company mas s.r.l., Palazzolo, Italy may be used, for example, as zip fasteners.
- the zip fastener may have a width of 4.2 mm (corresponding to a #3 zip fastener from YKK or an N4 zip fastener from man s.r.l.). All available widths of zip fasteners can be used.
- the end part of a closing device should be understood, for example, as referring to the end part of a zip fastener.
- the end part should be of a closed configuration, so that it cannot be separated by the zip fastener slider into two separate zip fastener stringers.
- the two zip fastener stringers may be brought together in the end part to form an inseparable end thereof. Consequently, the pulling-open movement of the zip fastener slider, that is to say the opening of a zip fastener, is stopped at the end part.
- the closing of the zip fastener teeth or the sealing lips begins at the end part as soon as the zip fastener slider is moved in the direction of the beginning part.
- the end of the button or stud strip in the front part forms the end part.
- the beginning part of a closing device should be understood, for example, as referring to the beginning part of a zip fastener.
- the beginning part is the region of the zip fastener where the zip fastener slider begins to open the zip fastener teeth or the sealing lips.
- the end of the button or stud strip in the back part forms the beginning part.
- the beginning part is of a closed configuration, i.e. the two zip fastener stringers are brought together to form an inseparable unit at the end thereof.
- the zip fastener slider cannot slide out from the teeth or the sealing lips of a zip fastener stringer.
- the beginning parts 25 A, 25 B of the first and second closing devices 26 , 28 are located in the back part 14 and the end parts 23 A, 23 B of the first and second closing devices 26 , 28 are located in the front part 12 of the bib pants 10 .
- This arrangement achieves the effect that, by opening the first and second closing devices 26 , 28 , the seat region 16 is opened, starting from the back part 14 , and is separated from the upper back part 14 .
- the lower part 13 is detached from the upper part 12 in the region of the back part 14 and partly in the right-hand and left-hand garment sides 17 , 18 .
- the seat region 16 in the lower part 13 is consequently freely movable and the upper part 11 maintains its position (hinge principle).
- the end parts 23 A, 23 B in the front part 12 prevent the lower part 13 from coming away from the upper part 11 completely.
- the wearer is able to pull the seat region 16 downward over the buttocks and can without any problem go to the toilet without taking off the upper part 11 and further garments over it.
- FIG. 2 shows the bib pants 10 as shown in FIG. 1 in the opened state.
- the two closing devices 26 , 28 have been opened from the back part 14 until the zip fastener slider has come to a standstill at the end parts 23 A, 23 B (not visible in FIG. 2 ) in the front part 12 .
- the seat region 16 is freely movable downward and can be pulled over the wearer's buttocks.
- the seat region 16 in the back part 14 of the lower part 13 can be moved into the desired position without the upper part 11 changing its position. This is particularly advantageous in that further garments that are worn over the upper part 11 do not have to be taken off in order, for example, to go to the toilet.
- the back part 14 of the one-piece garment 10 is represented.
- the lower part 13 with the seat region 16 of the back part 14 has substantially short pant legs.
- the back part 14 of the upper part 11 covers the wearer's back almost completely.
- the waist region 20 below the indicated waistline 19 , there run two closing devices 26 , 28 .
- the first closing device 26 runs along the left-hand garment side 18 into the back part 14 .
- the second closing device 28 runs along the right-hand garment side 17 into the back part 14 .
- the beginning part 25 A of the first closing device 26 and the beginning part 25 B of the second closing device 28 are located in the back part 14 above the seat region 16 and are facing each other.
- the beginning parts 25 A, 25 B are of an open design.
- the beginning parts 25 A, 25 B are arranged directly adjacent, for example in direct contact with each other.
- the beginning parts 25 A, 25 B are arranged at a distance from each other. This distance defines a stretching zone 24 , which has the task of compensating for stresses between the elastic material of the bib pants 10 and the non-elastic closing devices 26 , 28 . Without a corresponding stretching zone, creasing may occur in the adjacent regions between the non-elastic closing device and the elastic material.
- the stretching zone 24 prevents such creasing and ensures a taut, close fit of the bib pants.
- the stretching zone 24 may be formed, as shown, by an opening in the elastic material.
- the beginning parts 25 A, 25 B of the two closing devices 26 , 28 are consequently arranged within the opening/stretching zone.
- the stretching zone is formed by means of a stretchable material.
- the two closing devices 26 , 28 are formed by means of two zip fasteners.
- the end part 23 A, 23 B (not visible in FIG. 3 ) of the respective zip fastener 26 , 28 is closed and formed by zip fastener stringers inseparably joined to each other.
- the open beginning part 25 A, 25 B of each zip fastener 26 , 28 has a zip fastener slider for opening and closing the zip fastener.
- FIG. 4 shows the bib pants 10 according to the invention as shown in FIG. 3 in a side view; the left-hand garment side 18 is represented in particular.
- a first closing device 26 runs along the left-hand garment side 18 from the front part 12 to the back part 14 .
- FIG. 4 shows the embodiment in which the closing device 26 runs within the waist region 20 from the front part 12 and above the waistline 19 into the back part 14 into a region below the waistline 19 .
- the closing device may run in the opposite direction, to be precise in the front part 12 below the waistline 19 into a region in the back part 14 above the waistline 19 .
- the closing device runs substantially along the waistline 19 .
- FIG. 5 shows the front side 12 of the one-piece garment 10 according to the invention as shown in FIG. 3 .
- the front part 12 is dominated by the two straps 15 , which run from the back part 14 along the upper body and in the waist region 20 end in the pant legs.
- the two straps 15 delimit an opening in the front part 12 of the garment 10 , which in the waist region 20 assumes the function of a further stretching zone 22 .
- the end parts 23 A and 23 B of the first and second closing devices 26 , 28 are located, at a distance from each other, at the edge of the opening.
- the closing devices 26 , 28 are respectively arranged between the first stretching zone 22 and the second stretching zone 24 , to be precise preferably in such a way that the end parts 23 A, 23 B are assigned to the first stretching zone 22 and the beginning parts 25 A, 25 B are assigned to the second stretching zone 24 .
- FIG. 6 and FIG. 7 show a second embodiment of the one-piece garment 10 according to the invention as claimed in claim 1 in conjunction with claims 16 to 20 .
- the one-piece garment 10 of the second embodiment has a closing device 21 running around in the waist region 20 , at least the end part 23 of said device being arranged in the front part 12 .
- FIG. 6 shows the front part 12 of the garment 10 .
- the front part 12 has two straps 15 , which run from the back part 14 along the upper part 11 of the front part 12 and in the waist region 20 end in the pant legs.
- the two straps 15 delimit an opening in the front part 12 , which in the waist region 20 assumes the function of a stretching zone 22 .
- a closing device 21 in the form of a zip fastener extends from the front part 12 , laterally along the left-hand garment side 18 , crossing over the back part 14 , and laterally along the right-hand garment side 17 once again to the front part 12 .
- the closing device 21 consequently goes around the garment 10 within the waist region 20 in such a way that the beginning part 25 and the end part 23 are respectively arranged in the front part 12 .
- the beginning part 25 and the end part 23 are located above the waistline 19 ; the part of the zip fastener that runs between the beginning and end parts 25 , 23 is located substantially below the waistline 19 (see FIG. 7 ).
- This arrangement makes the manual opening and closing of the zip fastener easier.
- the beginning part 25 and the end part 23 are placed at a distance from each other by means of the stretching zone 22 . It is also possible to arrange the beginning part 25 and the end part 23 in such a way that the two are opposite, at a distance or without any distance. With the opening of the closing device 21 , the seat region 16 (not visible in FIG. 6 ) folds downward from the upper back region 14 without the upper part 11 changing its position. Abstract
A one-piece article of clothing having a front part, a back part containing a seat region, a right- and left-hand side, a waist region, and at least one closing device is provided. The closing device(s) may be positioned laterally along the right- and left-hand sides of the garment such that the end portion of the closing device is positioned in the front part to permit the seat region to be opened. In at least one exemplary embodiment, the article contains two closing devices whereby end portions of the two closing devices are positioned in the front part and beginning portions of the two closing devices are positioned facing each other in the back part to enable the opening of the seat region. The article may also have at least one stretching zone and at least one elastic component. In one exemplary embodiment, the article is utilized as cycling bib pants.
Description
- The invention relates to a one-piece garment which has at least one closing device running around the sides. With this at least one lateral closing device, the wearer of the garment can open the seat region of the garment in such a way that said user can use the toilet without taking off the one-piece garment. The invention relates in particular to a one-piece garment with two zip fasteners, which respectively run around the sides of the garment, and consequently allow opening of a seat region.
- Special garments associated with certain sporting activities have become ever more popular in recent years. Among others, special designs adapted for the particular requirements of cycling have been developed for sports cyclists. In particular, one-piece cycling suits, such as one-piece bib pants, continue to this day to be very much in demand from cyclists. Depending on the weather and other conditions, further garments such as T-shirts or jackets are usually worn over the one-piece bib pants. In this case there is the problem, particularly for female wearers, that to use the toilet all the garments first have to be taken off. That is time-consuming and tiresome, in particular if the wearer is perspiring and the clothing is damp. The situation is similar for one-piece ski suits, where the ski suit has to be at least partially taken, off every time before using the toilet.
- U.S. Pat. No. 5,163,182 describes a jumpsuit with a seat region that can be opened. The jumpsuit has a separate seat part in the seat region. The seat part has an elastic waistband and side edges. The side edges are joined to the jumpsuit by means of foldable intermediate pieces. The seat part is fastened to the jumpsuit, for example, by means of buttons located at the ends of the waistband.
- These buttons are fastened in corresponding button holes in the jumpsuit. In this state, the intermediate pieces are respectively folded to form a pocket. Furthermore, the intermediate pieces must be made to large dimensions in order that the separate seat part can be pulled sufficiently over the buttocks.
- WO 2009/021621 A1 describes a pair of one-piece cycling pants which have a zip fastener in the crotch region in order to make using the toilet easier. Although the patent application provides measures that make the presence of a zip fastener in the crotch comfortable, it is nevertheless undesirable to provide materials and/or items that may cause friction at this location. Furthermore, a zip fastener opening at the crotch cannot be made large enough.
- An object of the present invention is therefore to provide a one-piece garment which allows the seat region to the opened easily and to a sufficient extent in order to use a toilet.
- Furthermore, an object of the present invention is to provide a one-piece garment, such as a pair of cycling bib pants, which consists of an elastic material and allows the seat region to be opened easily and to a sufficient extent in order to use a toilet.
- In particular, an object of the present invention is to provide a one-piece garment, such as a pair of one-piece cycling bib pants, which can open the seat region easily and to a sufficient extent in order to use a toilet without further garments that are over the bib pants being taken off.
- The object of the present invention is achieved by the features of independent patent claim 1. A first embodiment is claimed by the features of dependent claims 2 to 14. A further embodiment is claimed by
dependent claims 15 to 21. - The object is achieved by a one-piece garment for covering upper and lower body parts of a wearer, having a front part and a back part with a seat region. The garment has a right-hand garment side and a left-hand garment side and a waist region. The garment also has at least one closing device with an end part and a beginning part, the at least one closing device being arranged laterally along the right-hand garment side and the left-hand garment side in such a way that at least the end part is arranged in the front part of the garment in order to make it possible for the seat region to be opened.
- The front part of the garment is understood as meaning the part that covers the body downward from the shoulder and neckline region of the wearer. The back part of the garment is understood as meaning the part that covers the back of the wearer and body parts of the wearer downward therefrom. The seat region is in this case part of the back part and refers to the part of the garment that covers the buttocks or the seat. In addition, a distinction to is made between the upper part and the lower part of the garment, the upper part covering the body above the waist and the lower part covering the body below the waist.
- The position of the at least one closing device running laterally along the right-hand and left-hand garment sides makes it possible that the garment can be opened in the back part. In this case, the seat region is separated from the upper back part and the buttocks are exposed. It is advantageous in this respect that the upper part of the garment does not slip and that garments over it do not have to be taken off. The arrangement of the end part of the at least one closing device in the front part has the advantage that, when the closing device is opened, separation of the one part garment into two separate parts cannot take place, since the end part does not allow unrestricted opening of the at least one closing device.
- The closing device may be a zip fastener with teeth or with sealing lips, a button or stud fastening (press studs or button with button hole), a Velcro fastening or other known closing mechanisms for joining two parts. For the purposes of the invention, the closing device is preferably continuous in the sense of uninterrupted, such as for example a zip fastener. Known closing devices are not elastic.
- The at least one closing device has an end part and a beginning part. The beginning part is understood as meaning the part of the closing device from where the opening of the closing device begins (or where the closing operation ends). In the case of a zip fastener, the beginning part is the region where the zip fastener slider begins to open the zip fastener teeth or the sealing lips. In one embodiment, the beginning part is of an open design, i.e. the two zip fastener stringers are not joined at the ends thereof and are separate. In a further embodiment, the beginning part is of a closed design, i.e. the two zip fastener stringers are brought together at the ends thereof to form an inseparable unit. The zip fastener slider cannot slide out from the teeth or the sealing lips of a zip fastener stringer.
- The end part is understood as meaning the part of the closing device where the opening of the closing device ends (or where the closing operation starts). The end part is, in particular, a closed end part which limits the opening of the closing device and ensures that the garment remains in one piece. In the case of a zip fastener, the end part is configured as a closed end part in such a way that it cannot be separated by the zip fastener slider into two separate zip fastener stringers. For example, the two zip fastener stringers may be brought together in the end part to form an inseparable end thereof. Consequently, the pulling-open movement of the zip fastener slider, that is to say the opening of a zip fastener, is stopped at the closed end part. At the same time, the closing of the zip fastener teeth or the sealing lips begins at the end part as soon as is the zip fastener slider is moved in the direction of the beginning part.
- In one embodiment, the end part and the beginning part of the at least one closing device lie in the front part, so that, with the opening of the closing part from the beginning part toward the end part, the seat region opens laterally along the right-hand and left-hand garment sides and downward in the back part, and can consequently be pulled over the buttocks. In this case, the upper part of the garment remains unchanged in its wearing position and other garments over it can be kept on. In this embodiment, the beginning part and the end part are of a closed design in order to ensure the one piece fitted form.
- The closing device is preferably a zip fastener running around the waist region, the beginning part of the closed closing device having the zip fastener slider. The movement of the slider in the direction of the end part opens the teeth of the zip fastener.
- In a further refinement of the embodiment, the garment has at least one elastic component with a stretching zone. The elastic component may comprise an elastic material. In particular in the case of cycling pants, the garment is produced at least partly or completely from an elastic material. The elastic material makes it possible for the cycling pants to be worn in a closely fitting and snug manner. All materials, in particular textiles, that can be stretched and have corresponding recovery properties, so that the elastic material can resume its original state after stretching, come into consideration for use as the elastic material. For this, the textile itself may have elastic properties, such as for example as a result of corresponding knitting processes. On the other hand, the textile may obtain elastic properties by the addition of elastane (a stretchable synthetic fiber). In this case, elastane is mixed with the at least one further type of fiber of which the textile consists. An elastic textile should in this case comprise at least 1% elastane. In one embodiment, the elastane content is between 3% and 5%, in further embodiments the elastane content may be over 20%, such as for example 22%. In one selected embodiment, a knitwear of 78% polyamide and 22% elastane is used as the elastic material.
- Ideally, the stretching zone is in the front part. A stretching zone may also be arranged in the back part, or in the front part and the back part. The stretching zone has the function of compensating for stresses between the elastic material component and the usually inelastic at least one closing device, such as the zip fastener, in such a way that wearing of the garment appropriately for a snug fit and without any creases continues to be possible. In one embodiment, the stretching zone is arranged between the end part and the beginning part of the closing device and is preferably in the form of an opening in the elastic material or in the form of a specifically stretchable material.
- In a further embodiment for achieving the object according to the invention, the one-piece garment has a first closing device and a second closing device. The first closing device is arranged laterally around the left-hand garment side between the front part and the back part. The second closing device is arranged laterally around the right-hand garment side between the front part and the back part. The end parts of the first and second closing devices are arranged in the front part. The beginning parts of the first and second closing devices are arranged facing each other in the back part in order to allow opening of the seat region. The first and second closing devices are preferably formed as zip fasteners.
- The closing devices may be opened respectively around the right-hand garment side and left-hand garment side, starting from the back part and proceeding in the direction of the front part. The end parts in the front part stop the opening of the respective closing device. The end parts prevent the opening of the closing devices from possibly separating the garment completely into an upper part and a lower part. Rather, only the seat region is opened in the back part and at the sides, and is consequently separated from the upper back part. In this way, the seat region can be pulled over the buttocks. The upper back part remains in its original position.
- In particular, the first and second closing devices are arranged in the waist region. The garment as provided by this embodiment likewise has at least one elastic component and at least one stretching zone, the stretching zone being arranged in the front part and/or back part. In particular, the stretching zone is likewise arranged in the waist region. Advantageously, the at least one stretching zone is arranged between the end parts of the first and second closing devices or between the beginning parts of the first and second closing devices. Consequently, a stretchable region is created between the end parts or the beginning parts of the non-elastic closing is device.
- It is particularly advantageous to provide a first stretching zone in the front part and a second stretching zone in the back part. In this case, the first stretching zone may have a first opening in the front part and the second stretching zone may have a second opening in the back part.
- In a further configuration, the first and second closing devices are respectively arranged between the first stretching zone and the second stretching zone. This ensures that no troublesome creases or unevennesses occur within the elastic material.
- In a further refinement of this embodiment, the end parts of the first and second zip fasteners are assigned to the first stretching zone and the beginning parts of the first and second zip fasteners are assigned to the second stretching zone.

Individual features or combinations of features from the exemplary embodiments shown and described may represent solutions that are in themselves independent, inventive or as according to the invention.
-
FIGS. 1 and 2 present the one-piece garment according to the invention in its basic function. -
FIG. 1 shows in a first exemplary embodiment a one-piece garment 10 according to the features of claims 1 to 15. Thegarment 10 is a pair of one-piece bib pants, particularly suitable for the sport of cycling. In the case of one-piece bib pants, the upper part, mainly in the form of straps, and the lower part, in the form of pants, are inseparably joined to each other. The pants may have long pant legs or short pant legs. Instead of the straps, the upper part may have a garment covering the upper body, such as a T-shirt or jersey with short or long sleeves. - A
waist region 20 is the region of the garment that is located in the region of the narrowest girth of a wearer, the waist. In the clothing industry, the waist is usually made visible by a waistline (seeFIGS. 3 to 7 ). Thewaist region 20 is the region above and below the waistline; it is usually the region above the hips and below the chest region of a wearer. - The
garment 10, represented as a pair of bib pants, also has afront part 12 and aback part 14 with aseat region 16 as well as anupper part 11 and alower part 13. In the present exemplary embodiment, theupper part 11 has in thefront part 12 two strap parts, which begin in thewaist region 20 and reach over the shoulder region into theback part 14. Theback part 14 is formed as an uninterrupted clothing part which covers the back. Thelower part 13 has short pant legs.
- All materials, in particular textiles, that can be stretched and have corresponding recovery properties, so that the elastic material can resume its original state after stretching, come into consideration for use as the elastic material. For this, the textile itself may have elastic properties, such as for example as a result of corresponding knitting processes. On the other hand, a textile may obtain elastic properties by the addition of elastane (a stretchable synthetic fiber). In this case, elastane is mixed with the at least one further type of fiber of which the textile consists. An elastic textile should comprise at least 1% elastane. In one embodiment, the elastane content is between 3% and 5%, in further embodiments the elastane content may be over 20%, such as for example 22%. In the present exemplary embodiment, the bib pants are produced mainly from an elastic textile with 78% polyamide and 22% elastane.
- In further exemplary embodiments, the bib pants are produced partly from elastic material and partly from non-elastic material.
- The bib pants 10 have a right-
hand garment side 17 and a left-hand garment side 18. - The right-
hand garment side 17 is the side of the bib pants 10 where the right arm of the wearer is located during the wearing of the bib pants 10. The right-hand garment side 17 consequently covers parts of the right-hand half of the wearer's body. - The left-
hand garment side 18 is the side of the bib pants 10 where the left arm of the wearer is located during the wearing of the bib pants 10. The left-hand garment side 18 consequently covers parts of the left-hand half of the wearer's body. - The embodiment as shown in
FIG. 1 also has two 26, 28, only the beginningclosing devices part 25B of thesecond closing device 28 being visible. Thefirst closing device 26 runs laterally around the left-hand garment side 18 between thefront part 12 and theback part 14. The second closing device 28 (not visible inFIG. 1 ) runs laterally around the right-hand garment side 17 between thefront part 12 and theback part 14. Thefirst closing device 26 has abeginning part 25A and anend part 23A (not visible inFIG. 1 ); thesecond closing device 28 has abeginning part 25B and anend part 23B (not visible inFIG. 1 ). - A closing device according to the present invention should be understood as referring to all known systems for joining two opposite sides of a material. These include, for example, zip fasteners, zip fasteners with sealing lips instead of teeth (pressing of two sealing lips), buttons or studs, such as for example press studs, and Velcro fasteners.
- Zip fasteners from the company YKK Deutschland GmbH, Mainhausen, Germany or the company mas s.r.l., Palazzolo, Italy, may be used, for example, as zip fasteners. In one embodiment, the zip fastener may have a width of 4.2 mm (corresponding to a #3 zip fastener from YKK or an N4 zip fastener from man s.r.l.). All available widths of zip fasteners can be used.
- The end part of a closing device should be understood, for example, as referring to the end part of a zip fastener. As provided by one embodiment of the present invention, the end part should be of a closed configuration, so that it cannot be separated by the zip fastener slider into two separate zip fastener stringers. For example, the two zip fastener stringers may be brought together in the end part to form an inseparable end thereof. Consequently, the pulling-open movement of the zip fastener slider, that is to say the opening of a zip fastener, is stopped at the end part. At the same time, the closing of the zip fastener teeth or the sealing lips begins at the end part as soon as the zip fastener slider is moved in the direction of the beginning part. In the example of buttons or studs, the end of the button or stud strip in the front part forms the end part.
- The beginning part of a closing device should be understood, for example, as referring to the beginning part of a zip fastener. According to the present invention, the beginning part is the region of the zip fastener where the zip fastener slider begins to open the zip fastener teeth or the sealing lips. In the example of buttons or studs, the end of the button or stud strip in the back part forms the beginning part. In one embodiment, the beginning part is of a closed configuration, i.e. the two zip fastener stringers are brought together to form an inseparable unit at the end thereof. The zip fastener slider cannot slide out from the teeth or the sealing lips of a zip fastener stringer.
- Corresponding to the present invention, the
25A, 25B of the first andbeginning parts 26, 28 are located in thesecond closing devices back part 14 and the 23A, 23B of the first andend parts 26, 28 are located in thesecond closing devices front part 12 of the bib pants 10. This arrangement achieves the effect that, by opening the first and 26, 28, thesecond closing devices seat region 16 is opened, starting from theback part 14, and is separated from the upper backpart 14. In this way thelower part 13 is detached from theupper part 12 in the region of theback part 14 and partly in the right-hand and left-hand garment sides 17, 18. Theseat region 16 in thelower part 13 is consequently freely movable and theupper part 11 maintains its position (hinge principle). The 23A, 23B in theend parts front part 12 prevent thelower part 13 from coming away from theupper part 11 completely. The wearer is able to pull theseat region 16 downward over the buttocks and can without any problem go to the toilet without taking off theupper part 11 and further garments over it. -
FIG. 2 shows the bib pants 10 as shown inFIG. 1 in the opened state. The two 26, 28 have been opened from theclosing devices back part 14 until the zip fastener slider has come to a standstill at the 23A, 23B (not visible inend parts FIG. 2 ) in thefront part 12. In this way, theseat region 16 is freely movable downward and can be pulled over the wearer's buttocks. Like a hinge, theseat region 16 in theback part 14 of thelower part 13 can be moved into the desired position without theupper part 11 changing its position. This is particularly advantageous in that further garments that are worn over theupper part 11 do not have to be taken off in order, for example, to go to the toilet. - In
FIG. 3 , theback part 14 of the one-piece garment 10 is represented. Thelower part 13 with theseat region 16 of theback part 14 has substantially short pant legs. Theback part 14 of theupper part 11 covers the wearer's back almost completely. In thewaist region 20, below the indicatedwaistline 19, there run two closing 26, 28. Thedevices first closing device 26 runs along the left-hand garment side 18 into theback part 14. Thesecond closing device 28 runs along the right-hand garment side 17 into theback part 14. The beginningpart 25A of thefirst closing device 26 and thebeginning part 25B of thesecond closing device 28 are located in theback part 14 above theseat region 16 and are facing each other. The 25A, 25B are of an open design. In this case, thebeginning parts 25A, 25B are arranged directly adjacent, for example in direct contact with each other. In a further embodiment and as also represented inbeginning parts FIG. 3 , the 25A, 25B are arranged at a distance from each other. This distance defines a stretchingbeginning parts zone 24, which has the task of compensating for stresses between the elastic material of the bib pants 10 and the 26, 28. Without a corresponding stretching zone, creasing may occur in the adjacent regions between the non-elastic closing device and the elastic material. The stretchingnon-elastic closing devices zone 24 prevents such creasing and ensures a taut, close fit of the bib pants. The stretchingzone 24 may be formed, as shown, by an opening in the elastic material. The 25A, 25B of the twobeginning parts 26, 28 are consequently arranged within the opening/stretching zone.closing devices - In a further embodiment, the stretching zone is formed by means of a stretchable material.
- Preferably, the two
26, 28 are formed by means of two zip fasteners. Theclosing devices 23A, 23B (not visible inend part FIG. 3 ) of the 26, 28 is closed and formed by zip fastener stringers inseparably joined to each other. Therespective zip fastener 25A, 25B of eachopen beginning part 26, 28 has a zip fastener slider for opening and closing the zip fastener.zip fastener -
FIG. 4 shows the bib pants 10 according to the invention as shown inFIG. 3 in a side view; the left-hand garment side 18 is represented in particular. Afirst closing device 26 runs along the left-hand garment side 18 from thefront part 12 to theback part 14.FIG. 4 shows the embodiment in which theclosing device 26 runs within thewaist region 20 from thefront part 12 and above thewaistline 19 into theback part 14 into a region below thewaistline 19. This arrangement makes the manual opening and closing of the two 26, 28 easier. In a further embodiment, the closing device may run in the opposite direction, to be precise in theclosing devices front part 12 below thewaistline 19 into a region in theback part 14 above thewaistline 19. In another embodiment, the closing device runs substantially along thewaistline 19. -
FIG. 5 shows thefront side 12 of the one-piece garment 10 according to the invention as shown inFIG. 3 . Thefront part 12 is dominated by the twostraps 15, which run from theback part 14 along the upper body and in thewaist region 20 end in the pant legs. The twostraps 15 delimit an opening in thefront part 12 of thegarment 10, which in thewaist region 20 assumes the function of afurther stretching zone 22. The 23A and 23B of the first andend parts 26, 28 are located, at a distance from each other, at the edge of the opening. If the twosecond closing devices 26, 28 are opened, the opening is stopped at theclosing devices 23A, 23B; consequently, theclosed end parts 23A, 23B prevent the upper andend parts 11, 13 of thelower parts garment 10 from being separated completely. Consequently, as provided by the embodiment represented, the 26, 28 are respectively arranged between theclosing devices first stretching zone 22 and thesecond stretching zone 24, to be precise preferably in such a way that the 23A, 23B are assigned to theend parts first stretching zone 22 and the 25A, 25B are assigned to thebeginning parts second stretching zone 24. -
FIG. 6 andFIG. 7 show a second embodiment of the one-piece garment 10 according to the invention as claimed in claim 1 in conjunction withclaims 16 to 20. As a difference from the first embodiment, the one-piece garment 10 of the second embodiment has aclosing device 21 running around in thewaist region 20, at least theend part 23 of said device being arranged in thefront part 12. -
FIG. 6 shows thefront part 12 of thegarment 10. Thefront part 12 has twostraps 15, which run from theback part 14 along theupper part 11 of thefront part 12 and in thewaist region 20 end in the pant legs. The twostraps 15 delimit an opening in thefront part 12, which in thewaist region 20 assumes the function of a stretchingzone 22. A closingdevice 21 in the form of a zip fastener extends from thefront part 12, laterally along the left-hand garment side 18, crossing over theback part 14, and laterally along the right-hand garment side 17 once again to thefront part 12. The closingdevice 21 consequently goes around thegarment 10 within thewaist region 20 in such a way that the beginningpart 25 and theend part 23 are respectively arranged in thefront part 12. In this case, the beginningpart 25 and theend part 23 are located above thewaistline 19; the part of the zip fastener that runs between the beginning and end 25, 23 is located substantially below the waistline 19 (seeparts FIG. 7 ). This arrangement makes the manual opening and closing of the zip fastener easier. - In the embodiment represented, the beginning
part 25 and theend part 23 are placed at a distance from each other by means of the stretchingzone 22. It is also possible to arrange the beginningpart 25 and theend part 23 in such a way that the two are opposite, at a distance or without any distance. With the opening of theclosing device 21, the seat region 16 (not visible inFIG. 6 ) folds downward from theupper back region 14 without theupper part 11 changing its position. Theseat region 16 can then be easily pulled over the buttocks. - In
FIG. 7 , theback part 14 of thegarment 10 as shown inFIG. 6 is represented. Belonging to theback part 14 is theseat region 16, which is mainly located in thelower part 13 of thegarment 10. The closingdevice 21 runs uninterruptedly from the left-hand garment side 18 to the right-hand garment side 17. -
FIG. 8 shows the one-piece garment 10 according to the invention in a practical application. Awearer 30 has opened the first and 26, 28, so that thesecond closing devices seat region 16 of theback part 14 can be pulled downward over the buttocks. Theupper part 11 remains in its original position.
