Description
- 1. Field of Invention
- The present invention relates to a dental-care kit that serves as a storage unit for dental hygiene items usually found in a residential home.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Dental hygiene is an important aspect to most individuals. As a result thereof individuals usually use various dental equipment and tools related to dental hygiene on a daily basis. Many times these dental hygiene devices and care products are stored in a bathroom area in various types of storage devices. Normally a family may store several toothbrushes in a toothbrush cup or holder. Other dental care products include toothpaste, floss and mouthwash all of which are usually available in the bathroom area.
- The prior art includes various devices that have been developed to store dental hygiene-related items such as U.S. Pat. No. 5,332,107 which discloses a dental-care structure that includes a backing plate for mounting on a wall and a number of its enclosures which are releasably secured to the backing plate, a supporting bar for a cup and a bifurcated support for a tube of toothpaste. Another example of a dental storage assembly includes U.S. Pat. No. 6,220,253 which discloses a dental-implement holder for holding dental-care implements by providing storage compartments, a mirror and a cover usable as a rinsing cup.
- Other examples of dental-storage units are available in the prior art but improved storage devices and apparatuses are always desirable to ensure that all components of dental hygiene have a proper, clean and convenient storage area.
- The present invention relates to a dental care storage unit for storing dental hygiene products comprising: a mounting plate, where said mounting provides a means to mount the storage unit; a shelf, where the shelf horizontally extends from the mounting plate; and a plurality of storage compartments extending along the length of the shelf. The plurality of storage compartments may include a compartment for at least a toothpaste dispenser, a toothbrush holder, a mouthwash dispenser, a cup holder and a floss dispenser. The cup holder may be capable of storing and dispensing a plurality of cups. In one exemplary embodiment, the shelf includes a semi-circular configuration.

FIG. 1 depicts the dental-care storage unit according to the present invention. -
FIG. 2 provides a side view of the dental-care unit according to the present invention. -
FIG. 3 depicts a top view of the dental storage-care unit according to the present invention. - The present invention provides a dental-care storage unit that is capable of providing a means for storage of dental hygiene-related items. The dental-storage unit according to the present invention provides a means to store toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, cups, floss and other related dental hygiene items. The dental-care storage unit according to the present invention may be mounted on the wall and provides a small shelf in front of the plurality of storage compartments that are provided in the dental-care storage unit.

The dental-care storage Unit 10 includes a plurality of storage compartments that provide a means to store various dental-hygiene items. The dental-care storage Unit 10 includes aback mounting Plate 22 and ashelf Area 24. Along theshelf Area 24 are the various storage components available on the dental-care storage Unit 10. Although there's a limited number of storage components depicted the number of storage components may be expanded to provide multiple storage units for various dental-hygiene equipment as needed. - The Shelf 24 provides the following storage compartments for dental-hygiene items. A
Toothpaste Dispenser 11 is depicted as the first storage compartment along Shelf 24, next to theToothpaste Dispenser 11, 13 a, 13 b are provided. TheToothbrush Holders Dispenser 11 may be of suitable size to accommodate a conventional tube of toothpaste. The Toothbrush 13 a, 13 b may be capable of storing multiple toothbrushes and are not limited to one toothbrush per holder. Further a Mouthwash Dispenser 15 is provided for the storage of mouthwash that may be used by family members. A cup holder andHolders Dispenser 17 is provided adjacent to the Mouthwash Dispenser 15. AFloss Dispenser 19 is provided next to the MouthwashDispenser 15. A plurality of cups may be stored in the Cup Holder 17 and aCup 23 may be removed one at a time for use by any individual. -
FIG. 2 provides a side view of the dental-care storage Unit 10 according to the present invention. As denoted theback mounting Plate 22 provides a means to mount the dental-care storage unit onto a wall. Thesmall Shelf 24 extends horizontally from theback mounting Plate 22 and the plurality of storage compartments extend along the length of theShelf 24. -
FIG. 3 depicts a top view of the dental-care storage Unit 10 according to the present invention.FIG. 3 provides a view ofShelf 24 that has a semi-circular configuration and the plurality of storage compartments extend along the length of theShelf 24. In one particular embodiment, the storage units may be substantially cylinder in shape. The dental-care storage Unit 10 provides a means to store various dental-hygiene utensils and items that are commonly used in a residential house. The items may be stored neatly and clearly organized for access by the users. The dental-care storage Unit 10 includes the holders and the dispensers for the commonly used dental-hygiene items of toothpaste, mouthwash, toothbrushes and dental floss. In one particular embodiment of the present invention, theback mounting Plate 22 may extend the length of 12 inches and have a height of about 8 inches. Theback mounting Plate 22 may be mounted upon the wall through the use of screws, mounting bolts or other similar mounting means. The dental-care storage unit according to the present invention therefore provides a means to organize dental-hygiene supplies and allow them to be mounted securely on the wall in a separate unit that is easily accessible and may be located as desired by the user.
