Description
- This application is based upon and claims the benefit under 35 U.S.C. 119 of priority from Provisional Application No. 61/181,223 filed May 26, 2009, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
- 1. Field of the Invention
- Embodiments of the present invention described herein, in general, relates to a multi-purpose bag, and in particular, relates to the multi-purpose bag comprising a novel attachment means allowing the user to attach said multi-purpose bag onto his/her body while keeping the hands free.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A number of devices are available for carrying money and personal articles concealed. A wallet is generally used for this purpose and usually has one or more currency pockets. Wallets usually have one or more pockets for storing credit cards or identification cards, which may be oriented vertically or horizontally.
- Wallets may also have an identification pocket, which facilitates the display of a regularly-used piece of identification such as workplace ID or a bus pass, by housing it within a transparent window. A wallet may also have photo pockets, which are designed to hold a collection of small personal photographs and a wallet may also have a small pouch for coins or keys.
- Also among these devices are a variety of bags, such as those for shopping, have been produced, the money belts which can be worn around the waste underneath clothing. All of these devices, while effective, have disadvantages. For example, the bags are designed to be used as a single-function unit. Therefore, it has been a general fixed idea that a variety of bags are required for accommodating various things suited to the size or type of the particular bag.
- The money belts which are worn around the waist are inconvenient because often when traveling and shopping one has to retreat to a private area to retrieve money or valuables from the money belt because it is underneath the clothing. In any case, all these devices are specialized and are generally disfavored because they cannot be used normally to carry personal articles and money.
- Also with ever-increasing numbers of persons now participating in activities such as jogging, tennis, cycling and other sports for which normal street attire is inappropriate, a need has arisen for a wallet or billfold which can be worn by a person while engaged in such sports and other outdoor activities. A secure wallet pocket is usually absent from jogging suits, and tennis or cycling clothing.
- Particularly in the case of jogging, it is important that a person carry some identification means and at least a small amount of currency with him or her, since the person may travel large distances from home during which time emergency situations calling for identification or currency may well occur. When the person is carrying the wallet in his/her pocket, items contained within the wallet are at great risk of loss, particularly with recurrent movement of the leg or arm on which the wallet is strapped while the wearer participates in an active sport.
- Therefore it becomes apparent from the above discussion that there exists a need of a multi-purpose bag allowing the user to fix the multi-purpose bag onto his/her body while keeping the hands free. Another need is to provide a multi-purpose bag designed to have a larger volume so as to have the space to keep the items such as credit cards, money, lip gloss, mirror and the like.
- The present invention described herein relates to the multi-purpose bag comprising a novel attachment means allowing the user to attach said multi-purpose bag onto his/her body while keeping the hands free.
- According to an embodiment of the present invention there is provided a multi-purpose bag that is adapted to be detachably secured to a part of a human body or an item.
- According to an embodiment of the present invention there is provided a multi-purpose bag comprising a front portion and a rear portion having a peripheral edge respectively and said front portion and said second portion being joined at their peripheral edges to form a space for storing objects thereto. The multi-purpose bag comprises a clamp secured to said rear portion of said bag for detachably securing said bag to a part of a human body or an item such that said clamp comprises a plurality of legs that are adapted to removably fit onto a part of a human body or an item.
- According to an embodiment of the present invention the clamp of the multi-purpose bag may be made up of metal, or a ceramic, or may be made up of a flexible material.
- According to an embodiment of the present invention, the multipurpose bag provides an inexpensive, compact, durable, easy to use, fashionable and unobtrusive carrier for holding or retaining a cellular telephone and other items such as, but not limited to, picture identification, a drivers license, credit cards, debit cards, telephone cards, coins, and currency that individuals commonly desire to have on their person.

Thus, the multi-purpose bag of the present invention is particularly well suited for use by individuals who are exercising or otherwise engaged in outdoor activities such as but not limited to walking, jogging, bicycle riding, skiing, hiking, horseback riding, and all terrain vehicle riding.
- According to an embodiment of the present invention, the multipurpose bag is adapted to attach to a decorative bracelet or other jewelry item, and the women can wore said decorative bracelet or other jewelry item that conceals the multipurpose bag while engaged in outdoor activities such as going for shopping, going for a movie or a theatre show, cycling, jogging, etc.
- According to an embodiment of the present invention, the multi-purpose bag is well suited for current air travel where the individual is subjected to repeated security checks that require easy access to their identification and the persons need to have their hands free for carrying carry-on luggage, etc.
- According to an embodiment of the present invention there is provided a multi-purpose bag which is light weight.
- According to an embodiment of the present invention there is provided a multi-purpose bag which can be used during physical activities.
- According to an embodiment of the present invention there is provided a multi-purpose bag which allows for transporting a variety of items in a secure fashion.
