  • BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
  • The idea of our invention came about while sitting at our dinner table eating, when I noticed our 1½ year old granddaughter enjoying watermelon and green beans. All of the juice from each piece of food that she picked up to eat was running down her arm and dripping on to her clothing and on to the chair. Her bib absorbed what was dripping off of her chin, but there was nothing there to absorb the drips that ran past her hand and down to her elbows, except for her clothing, or in some cases, ran down her stomach and then on to her diaper. I noticed how uncomfortable this could be. I then discovered that there isn't anything on the market that pertains to this problem. My daughter and I realized how necessary and convenient an absorbent wristband would be for all of the parents and children. We've since realized how handy it would be to have a child wear this while painting and doing art projects.
  • This invention, unlike other inventions that require assembly, that are torn off of a roll or towel sheet, then attached by fasteners, is by far, in respect, more convenient, because it is intended to be produced as a ready to wear article that can quickly and easily be applied and removed by any individual. It can be for household use, child care facilities and eating establishments, or used in schools or at home while painting or doing art projects.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTION
  • In view of the problem that has been described above, it is the object of the present new invention to provide a disposable, tubular shape, pull-on, absorbent wrist band with a fluid absorbent assembly to be worn over the wrist and forearm. The absorbent wristband is intended for use to absorb drips and spills while eating, drinking, painting, or the like. The band is intended to be disposable and can easily be applied and removed for disposal at any time, even by a small child. The band can be pulled on or off over one's hand or torn off at the longitudinal edge that is bonded together forming a joint, adapted to be ruptured for ease of disposal.
  • The absorbent wrist band can be worn by children, people with special needs, or any other individual as needed. The absorbent wristband could be made in different sizes, or one size fits all. The absorbent wrist band is intended to be worn with either cuff at either end, so there is no discrepancy in the performance or view of said absorbent wrist band.
  • The embodiment of said absorbent wrist band should comprise of, but not limited to a material that is breathable, preferably thin, with a liquid absorbent assembly that promotes comfort and softness to the wearer.
  • The embodiment of said absorbent wrist band should comprise of an absorbent assembly, comprising a liquid-permeable top sheet, a liquid-permeable back sheet with a liquid absorbent core, preferably liquid retentive, thin in structure, disposed there between said top sheet and said back sheet.
  • The embodiment of said absorbent wrist band should comprise of a type of construction where as the embodiment is not, and does not become bulky before and during use.
  • The embodiment of said absorbent wrist band should comprise a liquid-permeable top sheet, liquid-permeable back sheet, and a liquid absorbent core adhered to expandable and contractible substrate elastic cuff members, located at both arm holes, that encircle the wearer's wrist and forearm, respectively.
  • The embodiment of said absorbent wrist band should comprise of a type of adhesive used in an adequate manner for joining the liquid-permeable top sheet, liquid-permeable back sheet, liquid absorbent core, elastic cuff members and longitudinal joint.
  • The expandable and contractible cuff members are comprised as having equal in size expandable and contractible cuff openings at both arm holes, respectively.
  • The expandable and contractible cuff members are intended to absorb liquid and direct the liquid to the inner absorbent core, keeping wetness away from the wearer's skin.
  • The embodiment of said absorbent wrist band is intended to comprise a liquid-permeable top sheet adapted to face away from the wearer's skin in use; a liquid-permeable back sheet adapted to face toward the wearer's skin in use; a liquid absorbent core disposed between said top sheet and said back sheet, so as to absorb liquid from both sides, keeping skin dry, not trapping the liquid against the skin.
  • The embodiment of said absorbent wrist band is intended to comprise a unisex decorative liquid-permeable top sheet, or the like, in color(s), design(s), or pattern(s) to enhance the appearance of said absorbent wrist band, making it attractive and fun to wear.
  • The decorative element described above, may be, for example, a picture of any popular or non-popular character(s), new or in existence, letter(s) or symbol(s), pattern(s) or design(s), or combination of at least two thereof. The manner of displaying this element may be in a one-dimensional, two-dimensional, or three-dimensional manner. The decorative element may be multiple-colored or single-colored. The absorbent wrist band may also be produced plain, with no decorative element.
  • The said disposable, absorbent wrist band is intended to be convenient, easy to use, and cost efficient.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
