  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention relates generally to the field of entertainment and more specifically to a machine or apparatus that enables a magician, illusionist, mentalist, performer, or psychic entertainer, to “magically” bend coins for entertainment, a secret coin bending device.
  • This device allows the performer to create an effect of bending a coin “magically” without having to switch the coin secretly for a pre-bent coin.
Other methods for creating the effect of bending a coin is to switch the coin in performance with an already pre-bent coin. With other methods, the coins are bent in a shop vice, or with a “pliers” type tool, and secretly switched in during the performance. Or might be created with the aid of two metal rods, with slots, attached to elastic cords, going up the performers sleeves.
The other methods leaves marks on the coins leading to the revelation that a tool has been used. With the other methods, the coin cannot be marked before the performance to verify that it is the same coin after the bend, thusly has not been switched during the performance. When using one of the other methods, the performer must switch the coin, or wear sleeves. With the other methods the performers hands cannot be displayed as “empty” of a secret tool or a secret pre-bent coin. In some other methods the performer may have to wear sleeves. In some other methods the coin may not be marked or signed by an audience member.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary object of the invention is to provide a secret tool, used by a professional magician, illusionist, mentalist, performer, or psychic entertainer.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a secret tool to bend metal coins “magically” for entertainment.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a secret tool that is disguised like an ordinary marking or writing pen.
  • A further object of the invention is to provide a tool that is universal enough to bend pennies, dimes, nickels, quarters, & foreign coins.
  • Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following descriptions, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein, by way of illustration and example, an embodiment of the present invention is disclosed.
  • In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, there is disclosed a machine or apparatus that enables a magician, illusionist, mentalist, or psychic entertainer, performer, to “magically” bend metal coins for entertainment, a secret coin bending device comprising: A device or tool that looks like an ordinary writing or marking pen, Made of stainless steel or titanium preferred. A slot that receives a variety of coin sizes, and a pivoting joint, or hinge to help create the bend in the coin.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The drawings constitute a part of this specification and include exemplary embodiments to the invention, which may be embodied in various forms. It is to be understood that in some instances various aspects of the invention may be shown exaggerated or enlarged to facilitate an understanding of the invention.
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Detailed descriptions of the preferred embodiment are provided herein. It is to be understood, however, that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system, structure or manner.
  • Turning first to FIG. 1, there is shown the secret coin bending device or tool, disguised as an ordinary marking pen. In this figure, the device is in its “bent” position. In the particular device illustrated, a pen type “cap” is in place on one end, number 20. A slot in the tool or device allows for a metal coin to enter prior to bending numbers 21, and 23. A pivoting joint or hinge, number 22, enables the coin to be bent when sections 20 and 24 are pivoted toward one another. The hinge or pivoting joint is offset within the middle of the slot to allow a variety of small or large coins to be bent, numbers 21, 22, and 23.
  • Turning now to FIG. 2, the tool or device is shown straight, 31. In this figure a coin is shown before entering the device or tool, 30. In this figure, the device is also shown with a coin inside the slot, and in its bent position, 32. Number 33, shows the coin after being removed from the tool or device.
  • Turning now to FIG. 3, an alternative pen type design is shown. This device, or tool may vary in size, shape, and color. This device may be made from various materials such as steel, titanium, aluminum, copper, plastic, resin, etc.
  • While the invention has been described in connection with a preferred embodiment, it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to the particular form set forth, but on the contrary, it is intended to cover such alternatives, modifications, and equivalents as may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.
