Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates, in general, to board games and, more particularly, the invention relates to a good vs. bad board game played by at least two players for provoking discussion amongst themselves based on answers given to life experience questions provided by the board game.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Board games have been in existence for many years prior to the conception and development of the present invention, as is generally well known in the prior art. These board games may include a game board with spaces thereon forming a path from a starting space to a finishing space, game pieces to be moved by the players along the path with the first player reaching the finish space winning the game, and a player rolling dice or picking a card to determine the number of spaces they can move their game piece. Some of these board games may even include cards having questions that the player must answer correctly to be able to move their game piece.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention provides a good vs. bad board game to be played by at least two players for provoking discussion amongst the players based on answers given to life experience questions provided by the board game. The board game includes a substantially flat game board made from a predetermined material and having a pre-selected number of spaces forming a path on a top side of the game board beginning with a start space and ending with a finish space. Predetermined spaces along the path include indicia thereon requiring a player landing thereon to take a predetermined action. There are a plurality of game pieces, one for each player, to be moved from the start space along the path of spaces to the finish space. At least one die, having indicia on each side thereof representing a number, is rolled by a player to determine a number of spaces they can move their game piece. The first player to reach the finish space wins the game. There are also a pre-selected number of question cards. One of the question cards is selected and answered by a player when landing on a space having indicia thereon that indicates such action. The questions have no wrong answers to them, but are answered according to the player's views based on life experiences.
  • OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
  • It is, therefore, one of the primary objects of the present invention to provide a board game designed to provoke discussion amongst its players based on answers they give to life experience questions provided with the game.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a board game that is generally easy to play.
  • Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a board game that is relatively easy to manufacture.
  • A further object of the present invention is to provide a board game that is relatively inexpensive to make.
  • In addition to the various objects and advantages of the present invention described with some degree of specificity above it should be understood that additional objects and advantages of the present invention will become more readily apparent to those persons who are skilled in the relevant art from the following more detailed description of the invention, particularly, when such description is taken in conjunction with the attached drawing figure and with the appended claims.
  • THE DRAWING
  • The sole FIGURE is a perspective view of a good vs. bad board game according to the present invention particularly showing the various components thereof.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PRESENTLY PREFERRED AND VARIOUS ALTERNATIVE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
  • Referring now to the sole drawing FIGURE, illustrated therein is a good vs. bad board game, generally designated 10, to be played by at least two players for provoking discussion amongst its players based on answers given to life experience questions provided thereby. Board game 10 includes a substantially flat game board 12 made from a predetermined material. Game board 12 has a pre-selected number of spaces forming a path, generally designated 20, on a top side 14 thereof that begins with a start space 16 and ends with a finish space 18. Start space 16 may have danger zone indicia 22 thereon, and finish space 18 may have safety zone indicia 24 thereon.
  • Predetermined spaces along path 20 include indicia thereon requiring a player that lands on one to take a predetermined action. For example, the predetermined action to be followed by a player landing on a space 26 having a pitchfork indicia 28 thereon is to go back to start space 16, and the predetermined action to be followed by a player landing on a space 32 having a halo indicia 34 thereon is to take a shortcut 36 along path 20.
  • There are a plurality of game pieces 38 for moving from start space 16 along path 20 to finish space 18. At least one die 42, having indicia on each side thereof representing a number, is rolled by a player to determine how many spaces they can move their game piece 38 on path 20. Die 42 may also be rolled by each player to determine which one goes first with the player rolling the highest number going first. The first player to reach finish space 18 wins board game 10.
  • At least one of the spaces along path 20 may have lose a turn indicia 44 thereon. A player landing on this space will lose their next turn. Also, at least one of the spaces along path 20 may have ahead three spaces indicia 46 thereon. A player landing here will move their game piece 38 ahead three spaces. Further, at least one of the spaces along path 20 may have back three spaces indicia 48 thereon. A player landing on this space will move their game piece 38 back three spaces.
  • Board game 10 further includes a pre-selected number of question cards 52 based on a specific topic. Preferably, the pre-selected number of question cards include sets of questions based on specific topics. Also, sets of question cards could be prepackaged and sold to supplement those included with board game 10. The following is a list of some example questions that may be on one set of question cards 52 to be answered by the players of board game 10.
  • 1. What do you like most about your parents? Why?
  • 2. What do you not like about your parents? Why?
  • 3. What things do your parents do that may embarrass you?
  • 4. What things do you like to do with your parents?
  • 5. Do your parents encourage you? Why or why not?
  • One of question cards 52 is selected and answered by a player when landing on a space 54 having indicia thereon that indicates such action. The indicia on space 54, preferably, is a question mark 56. The questions have no wrong answers to them, but are answered according to the player's views based on life experiences. In addition, the top side 14 of game board 12 may further include a space (not visible in the FIGURE) for placing question cards 52 thereon.
  • While a presently preferred and various alternative embodiments of the present invention have been described in sufficient detail above to enable a person skilled in the relevant art to make and use the same it should be obvious that various other adaptations and modifications can be envisioned by those persons skilled in such art without departing from either the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims.
