A cleaning device comprising a handle having a groove extending across one face thereof, a channel shaped holder for the reception of a cleaning element, the adjacent spaced side walls of the holder forming an opening at an angle to the face of the handle, one side of said holder being disposed in the groove of the handle in a position whereby the side wall of the holder with- 'in the groove will be rigidly held by the handle.

'A cleaning device comprising a handle having" a groove formed in one face thereof, a carrier 'fora cleaning element, said carrier comprising a base and opposed side walls extending angularly inwardly from the base, one corner of said carrier including parts of the base and one side wall being seated in said groove to position the opposite side wall of the carrier in substantial parallelism with the grooved face of said handle and a securing member extending through the last named wall and the seated corner of said carrier and into said handle and serving to press said carrier walls inwardly.
5. A device as set forth in claim 4 including a second carrier mounted onthe last named wall and secured thereto by the securing member extending therethrough.
