Abstract
Applicant provides a liquid container carrying harness including a cylindrical sleeve, where in said cylindrical sleeve is open at the top and bottom, with the top portion being tapered inwards such that a bottle fits through the bottom with the bottle top extending through the top portion, a carrying strap affixed to said sleeve, wherein said carrying strap is affixed to the sides of the sleeve forming a handle, and a retention strap affixed to said sleeve, wherein the retention strap is affixed to the sides of the sleeve forming a strap extending down from the bottom portion of the sleeve.
Description
- Applicant's liquid container harness relates to portable apparatuses and devices for carrying liquid such as water and more specifically to devices for carrying portable water bottles which have decoupalable drinking bowls attached to the bottom of the bottle.
- Liquid container harnesses or cases are used to carry portable liquid containers such as disposable water bottles with a spout top. For example, U.S. Pat. No. 6,405,675, disclosed a water bottle assembly having a removable water bowl for providing a receptacle for watering a pet while outdoors includes a bottle, a lid, and a bowl removably couplable to the water bottle for carrying the water bottle and bowl as a single unit. In an embodiment, the lid includes a spout assembly. See
FIGS. 2 & 3 at B and C. - Many types of liquid container cases are currently available but require either specially designed proprietary liquid containers used in conjunction with the carrier to function, or they do not provide the ability to remove the stored cup disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 6,405,675 without removing the entire container from the case. Thus, there is a need for a portable liquid container case that is usable with many off the shelf portable liquid containers such as water bottles with a spout top and allows for easily removing either the entire bottle or removing an attached cup as stated above.
- Applicant's liquid container harness for portable liquid containers includes a cylindrical sleeve, where in said cylindrical sleeve is open at the top and bottom, with the top portion being tapered inwards such that a drinking bottle can be inserted through the bottom with the bottle top extending through the top portion, a carrying strap affixed to said sleeve, wherein said carrying strap is affixed to the sides of the sleeve forming a handle, and a retention strap affixed to said sleeve, wherein the retention strap is affixed to the sides of the sleeve forming a strap extending down from the bottom portion of the sleeve.
- Applicant's liquid container harness presents numerous advantages, including:
- (1) allows ease of carry and of use of a water bottle with a coupled drinking bowl; and
- (2) allows ease of decoupling of coupled drinking bowl without needing to remove the harness. Additional advantages will be set forth in part in the description which follows, and in part will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the invention. The advantages of the invention may be realized and attained by means of the instrumentalities and combinations particularly pointed out in the appended claims. Further benefits and advantages of the embodiments of the invention will become apparent from consideration of the following detailed description given with reference to the accompanying drawings, which specify and show preferred embodiments of the present invention.
- The accompanying drawings, which are incorporated into and constitute a part of this specification, illustrate one or more embodiments of Applicant's liquid container carrying harness and, together with the detailed description, serve to explain the principles and implementations of the invention.
-
FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a liquid container carrying harness. -
FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of a liquid container carrying harness in use. -
FIG. 3 shows an embodiment of a liquid container carrying harness showing use. - Before beginning a detailed description of the subject invention, mention of the following is in order. When appropriate, like reference materials and characters are used to designate identical, corresponding, or similar components in differing figure drawings. The figure drawings associated with this disclosure typically are not drawn with dimensional accuracy to scale, i.e., such drawings have been drafted with a focus on clarity of viewing and understanding rather than dimensional accuracy.
- In the interest of clarity, not all of the routine features of the implementations described herein are shown and described. It will, of course, be appreciated that in the development of any such actual implementation, numerous implementation-specific decisions must be made in order to achieve the developer's specific goals, such as compliance with application- and business-related constraints, and that these specific goals will vary from one implementation to another and from one developer to another. Moreover, it will be appreciated that such a development effort might be complex and time-consuming, but would nevertheless be a routine undertaking of engineering for those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of this disclosure.
- Applicant's liquid
container carrying harness 10, as showing inFIGS. 1-3 , includes acylindrical sleeve 12, where in said cylindrical sleeve has anopen top portion 14 and anopen bottom portion 16, with thetop portion 14 being tapered inwards such that a bottle B fits through the bottom with the bottle top extending through the top portion, a carryingstrap 18 affixed to saidsleeve 12, wherein said carryingstrap 18 is affixed to the sides of thesleeve 12 forming a handle, and aretention strap 20 affixed to saidsleeve 12, wherein theretention strap 20 is affixed to the sides of thesleeve 12 forming a loop extending down from thebottom portion 16 of thesleeve 12. - As shown in
FIGS. 1-3 ,cylindrical sleeve 12 has anopen top portion 14 and anopen bottom portion 16, with thetop portion 14 being tapered inwards such that a bottle B fits through the bottom with the bottle top extending through the top portion.Sleeve 12 can be adjustable in diameter.Sleeve 12 can be provided with insulation.Sleeve 12 is preferably made of canvas cloth. - As shown in
FIGS. 1-3 , the carryingstrap 18 is affixed to the sides of thesleeve 12 forming a handle. The carryingstrap 18 can be removably affixed to thesleeve 12. The carryingstrap 18 can be adjustable in length. The carryingstrap 18 can be padded. The carryingstrap 18 can be separably connected along its length. The carryingstrap 18 is preferably made of nylon but can also be made of other suitable materials, such as canvas, leather, known to those of ordinary skill in the art - As shown in
FIGS. 1-3 , theretention strap 20 is affixed to the sides of thesleeve 12 forming a strap extending down from thebottom portion 16 of thesleeve 12. Theretention strap 20 can be removably affixed to saidsleeve 12. Theretention strap 20 can be adjustable in length. Theretention strap 20 can be separably connected along its length.Retention strap 20 can be made from elastic material, such as cotton, spandex, stretch nylon, or other suitable elastic material known to those of ordinary skill in the art. Theretention strap 20 can also be made of no elastic material, or material with slight elastic qualities such as nylon, canvas, leather, known to those of ordinary skill in the art. Thestrap 20 length is set so that thestrap 20 is stretched under a tension when the bottle B and bowl C are in place, and yet still under slight tension when the bowl C is removed. - As shown in
FIGS. 2-3 , in use, user provides a portable liquidcontainer carrying harness 10 having acylindrical sleeve 12, a carryingstrap 18, and aretention strap 20. User places saidsleeve 12 over a portable liquid container B such that the container top extends out of thesleeve 12 tapered top opening 14. User secures said liquid container B into saidsleeve 12 by placing theretention strap 20 beneath said liquid container. This allows the liquid container to be easily transported or carried by means of the carryingstrap 18. This further allows removal of a stored cup C or other device from the bottom of the bottle without removing theharness 10 from the bottle B. - Those skilled in the art will recognize that numerous modifications and changes may be made to the preferred embodiment without departing from the scope of the claimed invention. It will, of course, be understood that modifications of the invention, in its various aspects, will be apparent to those skilled in the art, some being apparent only after study, others being matters of routine mechanical, chemical and electronic design. No single feature, function or property of the preferred embodiment is essential. Other embodiments are possible, their specific designs depending upon the particular application. As such, the scope of the invention should not be limited by the particular embodiments herein described but should be defined only by the appended claims and equivalents thereof.
