Description
- A gem finding multi jacket dangle enhancer relates to earrings. More particularly, a gem finding multi jacket dangle enhancer relates to earring jackets and dangles.
- Most women, and some men, have a great variety of types and kinds of earrings which are in different shapes, styles and colors to match the type of clothes worn, the time of day and the function to be attended.
- The earring must be relatively light, because it is supported entirely by the wearer's earlobe, and accordingly the mechanism should not add greatly to the weight of the earring. The mechanism should be relatively simple. If the mechanism requires a great deal of precision to manufacture or is complex with several moving parts, its cost may make it commercially impractical. It is a general object of the invention to provide a lightweight, reliable mechanism for securely maintaining an earring on the wearer's earlobe, while permitting relatively simple attachment and detachment.
- It is customary for women to change earrings in order to match clothes styles, the time of day, and the function to be attended. As a result, most women have a great variety of types and kinds of earrings which are of different shapes, styles and colors. In addition, earrings have various ear lobe fastening devices including spring clamps and screw clamps which clamp on ear lobes, and post/clutch devices and wire ring devices which extend through pierced ear lobe openings.
- Jewelry is typically selected by a wearer according to a particular mood, fashion choice and occasion. Because jewelry is often costly, however, the wearer may only have a limited number of jewelry items from which to choose. Accordingly, it is desirable to provide a single jewelry item that can be easily adapted by the wearer to be suitable for different situations.

None of the above inventions and patents, taken either singularly or in combination, is seen to describe the instant invention as claimed.
- The gem finding multi jacket dangle enhancer allows off the shelf earring posts with gems and nuts to be have interchangeable jackets in front of the earring to complement the gem and also to have interchangeable ornaments below the jacket. A gem finding multi jacket dangle enhancer includes a decorative jacket for an earring post that goes between a gem and an earlobe and having a post hole sized to allow through passage by an earring post, and a dangle enhancer dependently attached to said jacket adapted to replaceably holding dangles.
- Additional advantages of the invention will be set forth in part in the description which follows, and in part will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the invention. The advantages of the invention may be realized and attained by means of the instrumentalities and combinations particularly pointed out in the appended claims. Further benefits and advantages of the embodiments of the invention will become apparent from consideration of the following detailed description given with reference to the accompanying drawings, which specify and show preferred embodiments of the present invention.
- The accompanying drawings, which are incorporated into and constitute a part of this specification, illustrate one or more embodiments of the present invention and, together with the detailed description, serve to explain the principles and implementations of the invention.
-
FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a gem finding multi jacket dangle enhancer in relation to an earring post with gem, and earlobe and a nut. -
FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of a gem finding multi jacket dangle enhancer. -
FIG. 3 shows another embodiment of gem finding multi jacket dangle enhancer -
FIG. 4 shows an embodiment of a gem finding multi jacket dangle enhancer in relation to an earring post with a gem and a nut. - Before beginning a detailed description of the subject invention, mention of the following is in order. When appropriate, like reference materials and characters are used to designate identical, corresponding, or similar components in differing figure drawings. The figure drawings associated with this disclosure typically are not drawn with dimensional accuracy to scale, i.e., such drawings have been drafted with a focus on clarity of viewing and understanding rather than dimensional accuracy.
- In the interest of clarity, not all of the routine features of the implementations described herein are shown and described. It will, of course, be appreciated that in the development of any such actual implementation, numerous implementation-specific decisions must be made in order to achieve the developer's specific goals, such as compliance with application- and business-related constraints, and that these specific goals will vary from one implementation to another and from one developer to another. Moreover, it will be appreciated that such a development effort might be complex and time-consuming, but would nevertheless be a routine undertaking of engineering for those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of this disclosure.
- As shown in
FIGS. 1-4 , a gem finding multi jacket dangleenhancer 10 is provided with ajacket 12 for an earring post P that goes between the gem G and the earlobe L, instead of between the nut N and the earlobe L, with a dependent hook or dangle 16 to allow different dangle attachments or ornaments O to be attached, switched out, and stacked. As shown inFIGS. 1-4 , gem finding multi jacket dangleenhancer 10 includes ajacket 12 with apost hole 14 through which an earring post P can be inserted through, adependent dangle 16 attached to thejacket 12 to hook and hold ornaments O has an ornamentO receiving portion 18 and aornament hanger portion 20.Jacket 12 is a decorative item with apost hole 14 through which a commercial off the shelf earring post P can be inserted.Dangle 16 is a curved member dependent from thejacket 12 and having a receivingportion 18 and ahanger portion 20. - In use, user takes an earring which has post P and chooses an ornament O to hang from the
dangle 16 of the gem finding multi jacket dangleenhancer 10 and inserts the ornamentO receiving portion 18 of thedangle 16 through the ornament and slides the ornament O down tot thehanger portion 20 of thedangle 16. The user then inserts the earring post P through thejacket post hole 14, then through the earlobe L, and finally attaches an earring nut N to the post P to secure the earring andenhancer 10 to the earlobe L. - It will be appreciated that a user can have a number of different enhancers with differently decorated and shaped
12, 12A. As shown injackets FIG. 3 , one such shape is aflat disk 12A, and inFIG. 2 another such shape is acupped disk 12. Other shapes and decorative styles are possible. A user will typically try to coordinate the gem G of an earring with thejacket 12 and the ornament O. For example, a pearl gem G could coordinate with a disk shapedjacket 12A, while the ornament O could be dangling diamonds. - Those skilled in the art will recognize that numerous modifications and changes may be made to the preferred embodiment without departing from the scope of the claimed invention. It will, of course, be understood that modifications of the invention, in its various aspects, will be apparent to those skilled in the art, some being apparent only after study, others being matters of routine mechanical, chemical and electronic design. No single feature, function or property of the preferred embodiment is essential. Other embodiments are possible, their specific designs depending upon the particular application. As such, the scope of the invention should not be limited by the particular embodiments herein described but should be defined only by the appended claims and equivalents thereof.
