Abstract
Description
- (1) Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to an attachment unit for installing an imaging apparatus such as a video camera in a vehicle such as a squad car.
- (2) Description of the Related Art
- In recent years, a video camera is installed in a vehicle such as a squad car, and a police officer records an image in order to enforce a crackdown on a person who violates traffic regulations. As illustrated in
FIGS. 17 and 18 , for example, anattachment unit 102 is used for installing avideo camera 101 in a vehicle. Theattachment unit 102 includes amount 103, anarm 104 attached to themount 103, and an attachment table 105 attached to a tip end of thearm 104. Thearm 104 is rotatable about avertical axis 106 with respect to themount 103. Herein, thevideo camera 101 is attached to the attachment table 105. Acircular attachment hole 107 is formed in a base end of themount 103. - As illustrated in
FIG. 19 , a pair ofsun visors 109 for shielding sunlight are provided side by side at a front side of aceiling 108 of the vehicle. Eachsun visor 109 can pivot about ashaft 110 provided at its outward end. Anengagement piece 111 is provided at an inward end of thesun visor 109, and can be engaged with/disengaged from ahook member 113 fastened to theceiling 108 with ascrew 112. - As illustrated in
FIG. 18 , thehook member 113 includes apedestal part 114, ahooking part 115 formed under thepedestal part 114, and afitting part 116 protruding upward from thepedestal part 114. As illustrated inFIG. 17 , theceiling 108 is provided with aceiling frame 118 having a screw hole (not illustrated) formed therein. - The
fitting part 116 of thehook member 113 is fitted into theattachment hole 107 in themount 103 from below. Thescrew 112 is inserted into thehook member 113 and, then, is screwed into the screw hole of theceiling frame 118. Thus, as illustrated inFIG. 17 , both thehook member 113 and themount 103 are fastened to theceiling frame 118 with thescrew 112, that is, are secured to theceiling 108. - As illustrated in
FIG. 17 , thevideo camera 101 is directed forward, so that an image of a forward scene can be captured in the vehicle. Further, when thearm 104 is allowed to rotate by 180° about thevertical axis 106 with respect to the securedmount 103, thevideo camera 101 is directed rearward, so that an image of a rearward scene can be captured in the vehicle. - JP10-288811A discloses a unit used for attaching a camera to a tripod.
- However, the
attachment unit 102 illustrated inFIG. 18 has the following problem. That is, theattachment hole 107 in themount 103 is formed into a circular shape. Consequently, if thearm 104 is allowed to rotate about thevertical axis 106 so as to change a direction of thevideo camera 101, themount 103 disadvantageously rotates together with thearm 104. - In order to prevent the
mount 103 from rotating, theattachment hole 107 in themount 103 is not formed into a circular shape, but is formed into a shape identical to that of thefitting part 116 of thehook member 113, in other words, an irregular shape. - However, the shape of the
fitting part 116 of thehook member 113 differs for each type of a vehicle. More specifically, anattachment hole 107 in amount 103, formed in accordance with a shape of afitting part 116 of ahook member 113 for a certain type of a vehicle, cannot be used for afitting part 116 of ahook member 113 for another type of a vehicle. Consequently, there arises a problem that thefitting part 116 of thehook member 113 cannot be fitted into theattachment hole 107 in themount 103, so that themount 103 cannot be secured to theceiling 108. - An object of the present invention is to provide an attachment unit for installing an imaging apparatus in a vehicle. This attachment unit can prevent a mount from rotating together with an arm, and can be used for various types of vehicles.
- In order to accomplish this object, according to a first aspect of the present invention, an attachment unit is used for installing an imaging apparatus in a vehicle by means of a hook member for a sun visor fastened to a ceiling of the vehicle with a screw. The hook member includes a pedestal part, a hooking part formed under the pedestal part and a fitting part protruding upward from the pedestal part. The fitting part includes a fastening portion having a screw hole for attachment formed therein and rotation locking pieces each formed on an outer periphery of the fastening portion. The attachment unit comprises a mount secured to the hook member, an arm attached to the mount, and an attachment table attached to a tip end of the arm. The arm rotates about a vertical axis with respect to the mount. The imaging apparatus is attached to the attachment table. The mount includes an attachment hole formed in a base end thereof. The attachment hole includes a main hole into which at least the fastening portion of the hook member is fitted, and abutment portions each formed on an outer periphery of the main hole in correspondence with rotation locking pieces of various hook members such that at least one of the rotation locking pieces of the various members abuts against the abutment portions. The outer periphery of the main hole prevents the rotation locking pieces from being disengaged from the abutment portions.
- With this configuration, the fitting part of the hook member is fitted into the attachment hole in the mount from below. Then, a screw is inserted into the fastening portion of the fitting part, so that the hook member is fastened to the ceiling with the screw. Thus, both the hook member and the mount are secured to the ceiling.
- When the arm is allowed to rotate about the vertical axis with respect to the mount, a direction of the imaging apparatus can be changed. Herein, the attachment hole is not formed into a circular shape, and includes the main hole into which at least the fastening portion of the hook member is fitted, and the abutment portions each formed on the outer periphery of the main hole in correspondence with rotation locking pieces of various hook members such that at least one of the rotation locking pieces of the various hook members abuts against the abutment portions. Further, the outer periphery of the main hole prevents the rotation locking pieces from being disengaged from the abutment portions. Therefore, both the mount and the hook member are secured to the ceiling; thus, the mount can be prevented from rotating together with the arm.
- In addition, the abutment portions are formed on the outer periphery of the main hole of the attachment hole in correspondence with the rotation locking pieces of the various hook members such that at least one of the rotation locking pieces of the various hook members abuts against the abutment portions. Further, the outer periphery of the main hole prevents the rotation locking pieces from being disengaged from the abutment portions. Therefore, the attachment unit can be used for all types of vehicles. Thus, an imaging apparatus can be installed in all types of vehicles by means of one type of attachment unit.
- According to a second aspect of the present invention, an attachment unit is used for installing an imaging apparatus in a vehicle by means of a hook member for a sun visor fastened to a ceiling of the vehicle with a screw. The hook member includes a pedestal part, a hooking part formed under the pedestal part and a fitting part protruding upward from the pedestal part. The fitting part includes a fastening portion having a screw hole for attachment formed therein and rotation locking pieces each formed on an outer periphery of the fastening portion. The attachment unit comprises a mount secured to the hook member, an arm attached to the mount, and an attachment table attached to a tip end of the arm. The arm rotates about a vertical axis with respect to the mount. The imaging apparatus is attached to the attachment table. The mount includes an attachment hole formed in a base end thereof. The mount includes a mount main body, and mount replacement parts each engaged with/disengaged from the mount main body and each having an attachment hole formed therein. The mount replacement parts are provided in correspondence with fitting parts of various hook members. The attachment holes of the mount replacement parts are formed in accordance with shapes of the fitting parts of the hook members.
- With this configuration, the fitting part of the hook member is fitted into the attachment hole in the mount from below. Then, a screw is inserted into the fastening portion of the fitting part, so that the hook member is fastened to the ceiling with the screw. Thus, both the hook member and the mount are secured to the ceiling.
- When the arm is allowed to rotate about the vertical axis with respect to the mount, a direction of the imaging apparatus can be changed. Herein, the rotation locking pieces of the hook member are fitted into the attachment hole in the mount; therefore, both the mount and the hook member are secured to the ceiling. Thus, the mount can be prevented from rotating together with the arm.
- In addition, one mount replacement part is detached from the mount main body and, then, another mount replacement part is attached to the mount main body; thus, a shape of an attachment hole can be changed in accordance with a type of a vehicle. Accordingly, the attachment unit can be used for all types of vehicles. Herein, one type of mount main body taking a part of a mount can be used.
- According to the first aspect of the present invention, as described above, even when the arm is allowed to rotate about the vertical axis, the mount can be prevented from rotating together with the arm. In addition, the attachment hole includes the main hole into which at least the fastening portion of the hook member is fitted, and the abutment portions formed on the outer periphery of the main hole in correspondence with rotation locking pieces of various hook members such that at least one of the rotation locking pieces of the various hook members abuts against the abutment portions. Further, the outer periphery of the main hole prevents the rotation locking pieces from being disengaged from the abutment portions. Therefore, the attachment unit can be used for all types of vehicles. Thus, an imaging apparatus can be installed in all types of vehicles by means of one type of attachment unit. This leads to cost reduction and the like.
- According to the second aspect of the present invention, even when the arm is allowed to rotate about the vertical axis, the mount can be prevented from rotating together with the arm. In addition, by replacement of a mount replacement part, a shape of an attachment hole can be changed in accordance with a type of a vehicle. Accordingly, the attachment unit can be used for all types of vehicles. Herein, one type of mount main body taking a part of a mount can be used. This leads to effects of cost reduction and the like.

FIG. 19 illustrates sun visors in the squad car. - Hereinafter, description will be given of embodiments of the present invention with reference to the drawings.
- Description will be given of a first embodiment with reference to FIGS. 1 to 11.
- As illustrated in
FIG. 1 , anattachment unit 1 is used for installing a video camera 3 (one example of an imaging apparatus) in a squad car 2 (one example of a vehicle). Theattachment unit 1 is attached to a front end of aceiling 6 of thesquad car 2 by means ahook member 5 of a sun visor (see thesun visor 109 illustrated inFIG. 19 ). As conventionally, the sun visor can pivot about a shaft provided at its outward end. An engagement piece is provided at an inward end of the sun visor, and can be engaged with/disengaged from thehook member 5. - The
ceiling 6 is provided with aceiling frame 10 having ascrew hole 9 formed therein. As illustrated inFIG. 2 , thehook member 5 includes apedestal part 11, a hookingpart 12 formed under thepedestal part 11, and afitting part 13 protruding upward from thepedestal part 11, and is fastened to theceiling frame 10 with ascrew 14. - The
fitting part 13 of thehook member 5 is formed into a shape differing for each type of asquad car 2. In this embodiment, for example, there are prepared six different shapes as will be described below. - (1) As illustrated in
FIGS. 3A and 3B , afitting part 13 of ahook member 5 for asquad car 2 of type A includes an oval-shapedcylindrical fastening portion 16 having ascrew hole 15 for attachment formed therein, and pluralrotation locking pieces 17 a to 17 d each formed on an outer periphery of thefastening portion 16. The 17 a, 17 b and 17 c located at a front side, a left side and a right side of therotation locking pieces fastening portion 16 have upper ends each protruding higher than an upper end face of thefastening portion 16 in an upward direction. Therotation locking piece 17 d located at a rear side of thefastening portion 16 has aprotrusion 17 e protruding higher than the upper end face of thefastening portion 16 in the upward direction. At least one of therotation locking pieces 17 a to 17 d abuts against abutment portions formed on an outer periphery of amain hole 61 in amount 51 to thereby prevent themount 51 from rotating. Therotation locking pieces 17 a to 17 d for thesquad car 2 of type A have the following feature. That is, arrangement of therotation locking pieces 17 a to 17 d is bilaterally symmetrical. In each of the leftrotation locking piece 17 b, the rightrotation locking piece 17 c and the rearrotation locking piece 17 d, a circular protrusion is formed at a tip end of a plate extending outward. - As illustrated in
FIG. 3C , a pair of front and 18 a and 18 e and a pair of right and leftrear holes 18 b and 18 c are formed around theconcaves screw hole 9 as a center in aceiling frame 10 for thesquad car 2 of type A. When thehook member 5 is fastened to theceiling frame 10 with ascrew 14, therotation locking piece 17 a and theprotrusion 17 e are fitted into thehole 18 a and thehole 18 e, respectively, and therotation locking piece 17 b and therotation locking piece 17 c are fitted into the concave 18 b and the concave 18 c, respectively. Thus, thehook member 5 is secured to theceiling frame 10. - (2) As illustrated in
FIGS. 4A and 4B , afitting part 13 of ahook member 5 for asquad car 2 of type B includes acylindrical fastening portion 21 having ascrew hole 15 for attachment formed therein, and pluralrotation locking pieces 22 a to 22 c each formed on an outer periphery of thefastening portion 21. Therotation locking piece 22 a and therotation locking piece 22 b, each formed into a “T” shape, are provided at a front side and a rear side of thefastening portion 21, respectively. Therotation locking piece 22 c formed into a pin shape is provided at a rear side of the rearrotation locking piece 22 b. Therotation locking pieces 22 a to 22 c for thesquad car 2 of type B have the following feature. As described above, the 22 a and 22 b each formed into a “T” shape protrude from therotation locking pieces cylindrical fastening portion 21 in a longitudinal direction. Therotation locking piece 22 c is formed as a circular protrusion at a tip end of a center of therotation locking piece 22 b. - As illustrated in
FIG. 4C , ahole 23 c is formed behind ascrew hole 9 in aceiling frame 10 for thesquad car 2 of type B. When thehook member 5 is fastened to theceiling frame 10 with ascrew 14, therotation locking piece 22 c is fitted into thehole 23 c. Thus, thehook member 5 is secured to theceiling frame 10. - (3) As illustrated in
FIGS. 5A and 5B , afitting part 13 of ahook member 5 for asquad car 2 of type C includes afastening portion 26 having ascrew hole 15 for attachment formed therein, and pluralrotation locking pieces 27 a to 27 h each formed on an outer periphery of thefastening portion 26. Herein, the 27 a and 27 b are formed in a pair at a front side of therotation locking pieces fastening portion 26 in a bilaterally symmetrical manner. The 27 c and 27 d are also formed in a pair at the front side of therotation locking pieces fastening portion 26 in a bilaterally symmetrical manner. The 27 g and 27 h are formed in a pair at a rear side of therotation locking pieces fastening portion 26 in a bilaterally symmetrical manner. The 27 e and 27 f are formed in a pair at a middle side of therotation locking pieces fastening portion 26 in a bilaterally symmetrical manner. More specifically, the front 27 a and 27 b are formed in parallel in a longitudinal direction at both sides of therotation locking pieces fastening portion 26. The 27 c and 27 d are formed at outer rear sides of therotation locking pieces 27 a and 27 b, respectively. The rearrotation locking pieces 27 g and 27 h, each formed as a protrusion, are formed at both sides of therotation locking pieces fastening portion 26 with a space identical to that between the front 27 a and 27 b provided therebetween. As illustrated inrotation locking pieces FIG. 5B , therotation locking pieces 27 a to 27 d, 27 g and 27 h are equal in height to each other. The middle 27 e and 27 f, each formed as an almost “C”-shaped protrusion when being seen from its plane, protrude higher than therotation locking pieces rotation locking pieces 27 a to 27 d, 27 g and 27 h in an upward direction. - As illustrated in
FIG. 5C , aceiling frame 10 for thesquad car 2 of type C is attached to an opening of amain body frame 29 taking a part of a ceiling of thesquad car 2 of type C. At a center of theceiling frame 10 for thesquad car 2 of type C in a longitudinal direction, a concave 28 having a top face bowed inward is formed. The convex 28 includes ascrew hole 9 and a pair of left and 30 and 31 formed at both sides of theright notches screw hole 9 as a center. When thehook member 5 is fastened to theceiling frame 10 with ascrew 14, the rightrotation locking piece 27 e is fitted into thenotch 30 and the leftrotation locking piece 27 f is fitted into thenotch 31. Further, outer ends of the respective frontrotation locking pieces 27 a to 27 d and outer ends of the respective rear 27 g and 27 h abut against arotation locking pieces peripheral edge 29 a of the opening of themain body frame 29. Thus, thehook member 5 is secured to theceiling frame 10. - (4) As illustrated in
FIGS. 6A and 6B , afitting part 13 of ahook member 5 for asquad car 2 of type D includes acylindrical fastening portion 34 having ascrew hole 15 for attachment formed therein, and pluralrotation locking pieces 35 a to 35 d each formed on an outer periphery of thefastening member 34. Therotation locking pieces 35 a to 35 d are arranged in an “X” shape with thefastening member 34 located at a center, and are bent into an “L” shape toward a center line in a longitudinal direction such that tip ends of the 35 a and 35 b oppose each other and tip ends of therotation locking pieces 35 c and 35 d oppose each other.rotation locking pieces - As illustrated in
FIG. 6C , on aceiling frame 10 for thesquad car 2 of type D, a pair of front and rear convexes 36 and 37, each formed into a rectangular shape, are formed with thescrew hole 9 located at a center. Each of the 36 and 37 protrudes downward. When theconvexes hook member 5 is fastened to theceiling frame 10 with ascrew 14, the front convex 36 is fitted into a space between the tip ends of the front 35 a and 35 b and the rear convex 37 is fitted into a space between the tip ends of the rearrotation locking pieces 35 c and 35 d. Thus, therotation locking pieces hook member 5 is secured to theceiling frame 10. - (5) As illustrated in
FIGS. 7A and 7B , afitting part 13 of ahook member 5 for asquad car 2 of type E includes acylindrical fastening portion 40 having ascrew hole 15 for attachment formed therein, and pluralrotation locking pieces 41 a to 41 d each formed on an outer periphery of thefastening portion 40. Therotation locking pieces 41 a to 41 d are arranged in a cross shape with thefastening portion 40 located at a center. Each of the 41 a, 41 b and 41 d is provided with a protrusion protruding higher than therotation locking pieces fastening portion 40 in an upward direction at an outer end thereof, and a similar protrusion is provided inward therotation locking piece 41 b relative to the protrusion provided at the outer end of therotation locking piece 41 b. - As illustrated in
FIG. 7C , aceiling frame 10 for thesquad car 2 of type E is provided with afront hole 42 a, arear hole 42 b and aleft hole 42 d with thescrew hole 9 located at a center. When thehook member 5 is fastened to theceiling frame 10 with ascrew 14, the outer end protrusion of the frontrotation locking piece 41 a is fitted into thefront hole 42 a, the outer end protrusion of the rearrotation locking piece 41 b is fitted into therear hole 42 b, and the outer end protrusion of the rightrotation locking piece 41 d is fitted into theleft hole 42 d. Thus, thehook member 5 is secured to theceiling frame 10. - (6) As illustrated in
FIGS. 8A and 8B , afitting part 13 of ahook member 5 for asquad car 2 of type F includes acylindrical fastening portion 45 having ascrew hole 15 for attachment formed therein, four outer peripheral protruding pieces each formed on an outer periphery of thefastening portion 45 at an angle of 90°, and a pair of 46 a and 46 b formed at front and rear sides of the outer peripheral protruding pieces. The frontrotation locking pieces rotation locking piece 46 a is formed by a long piece arranged in a lateral direction, and short pieces formed at portions close to both outer ends of the long piece. The rearrotation locking piece 46 b is formed into a “T” shape by a long piece arranged in the lateral direction and a piece arranged at the center of the long piece in a longitudinal direction. The piece is almost one-half of the long piece in length. Each of the 46 a and 46 b has an upper end protruding higher than therotation locking pieces fastening portion 45 in an upward direction. - As illustrated in
FIG. 8C , in aceiling frame 10 for thesquad car 2 of type F, 47 a and 47 b are formed at front and rear sides of therectangular holes screw hole 9 as a center. When thehook member 5 is fastened to theceiling frame 10 with ascrew 14, therotation locking piece 46 a is fitted into thehole 47 a and therotation locking piece 46 b is fitted into thehole 47 b. - Thus, the
hook member 5 is secured to theceiling frame 10. - Next, description will be given of a configuration of the
attachment unit 1. - As illustrated in
FIGS. 1 and 2 , theattachment unit 1 includes themount 51 secured to thehook member 5, anarm 52 attached to themount 51, and an attachment table 53 attached to a tip end of thearm 52. - The
mount 51 includes abase end plate 51 a having anattachment hole 61 formed therein, and ah arm attachingplate 51 b. Thebase end plate 51 a and thearm attaching plate 51 b are connected to each other with a step interposed therebetween. - The
arm 52 includes a pair of divided 52 a and 52 b. Thearm pieces 52 a and 52 b are fastened to each other with a tighteningarm pieces tool 54 of a thumb screw type. Thearm 52 is attached to thearm attaching plate 51 b of themount 51 through arotational shaft 55, and is rotatable about a firstvertical axis 56, passing through therotational shaft 55, with respect to themount 51. Herein, therotational shaft 55 is provided inside the base end of thearm 52. As illustrated inFIG. 9A , the firstvertical axis 56 is shifted leftward relative to acenter line 57 of themount 51 in a longitudinal direction. - As illustrated in
FIG. 2 , the attachment table 53 is attached to the tip end of thearm 52 through aball shaft 58 and, therefore, is rotatable about a secondvertical axis 59, passing through theball shaft 58, with respect to thearm 52. Herein, theball shaft 58 includes a shaft part and a sphere part, and is provided inside the tip end of thearm 52. Thevideo camera 3 is fastened to the attachment table 53 with a screw or the like. - When the tightening
tool 54 is loosened manually, the attachment table 53 can be allowed to rotate with respect to thearm 52 and thearm 52 can be allowed to rotate with respect to themount 51. On the other hand, when the tighteningtool 54 is tightened, therotational shaft 55 and theball shaft 58 are securely nipped by the 52 a and 52 b each taking a part of thearm pieces arm 52, so that the rotation of each of the attachment table 53 and thearm 52 is prevented. - The
attachment hole 61 in themount 51 is formed into a shape into which each of thefitting portions 13 of thehook members 5 for thesquad cars 2 of types A to F illustrated inFIGS. 3A, 3B , 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B, 7A, 7B, 8A and 8B is fitted. More specifically, as illustrated inFIG. 9C , theattachment hole 61 includes a square-shapedmain hole 61 a,plural concaves 61 b to 61 i each formed around themain hole 61 a, and 61 j and 61 k. The concave 61 b is formed at a front center end of theplural convexes main body 61 a in a lateral direction. The 61 c and 61 d are formed at both sides of the front end of theconcaves main hole 61 a. The 61 g, 61 h and 61 i are formed at a rear end of theconcaves main hole 61 a. The 61 e and 61 f are formed at both sides of a middle of theconcaves main hole 61 a in a longitudinal direction. The 61 j and 61 k are formed at the rear ends of theconvexes main hole 61 a. - The
concaves 61 b to 61 i have inner wall faces serving as abutment portions against which the rotation locking pieces of thehook member 5 abut. The rotation locking pieces of thehook member 5 are fitted into theconcaves 61 b to 61 i, and are prevented from being disengaged from the concave abutment portions, respectively; thus, themount 51 can be prevented from rotating. The 61 j and 61 k have outer wall faces also serving as abutment portions against which the rotation locking pieces abut. At least two rotation locking pieces nip theconvexes 61 j and 61 k, so that the rotation locking pieces are prevented from being disengaged from the abutment portions. Thus, theconvexes mount 51 can be prevented from rotating. - Hereinafter, description will be given of functional effects of the aforementioned configuration.
- (1) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type A by means of theattachment unit 1, thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 illustrated inFIGS. 3A and 3B is fitted into theattachment hole 61 in themount 51 from below. Then, thescrew 14 is inserted into thescrew hole 15 of thefastening portion 16, and is screwed into thescrew hole 9 of theceiling frame 10. Thus, as illustrated inFIG. 9B , both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14, that is, are secured to theceiling 6. - Herein, as illustrated in
FIG. 10A , thefastening portion 16 of thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 is inserted into themain hole 61 a of theattachment hole 61, and the pair of left and right 17 b and 17 c are fitted into the pair of left androtation locking pieces 61 e and 61 f of theright concaves attachment hole 61, respectively. - As illustrated in
FIG. 11 , when the tighteningtool 54 is loosened in order that thearm 52 is allowed to rotate about the firstvertical axis 56 with respect to themount 51, the direction of thevideo camera 3 can be changed. Herein, theattachment hole 61 is not formed into a circular shape. Further, as illustrated inFIG. 10A , the 17 b and 17 c of therotation locking pieces hook member 5 are fitted into the 61 e and 61 f of theconcaves attachment hole 61, respectively. Therefore, both themount 51 and thehook member 5 are secured to theceiling 6; thus, themount 51 can be prevented from rotating together with thearm 52. More specifically, the 17 b and 17 c abut against the abutment portions of therotation locking pieces 61 e and 61 f, respectively. In addition, the concave 61 f is almost equal in size to theconcaves rotation locking piece 17 c; therefore, therotation locking piece 17 c is fitted into the concave 61 f. As a result, therotation locking piece 17 c is prevented from being disengaged from the corresponding abutment portion; thus, themount 51 can be prevented from rotating. There is a clearance between the concave 61 e and therotation locking piece 17 b. This clearance exhibits the following effect. That is, it is assumed herein that an operator forcibly allows thevideo camera 3 to rotate beyond its limit. Even in such a case, the operator becomes aware of excess of the limit of thevideo camera 3 before destruction of thehook member 5 by a feeling that therotation locking piece 17 b slightly moves within the concave 61 e. Thus, the operator can stop an excessive rotation of thevideo camera 3. - (2) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type B by means of theattachment unit 1, thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 illustrated inFIGS. 4A and 4B is fitted into theattachment hole 61 in themount 51 from below. Then, thescrew 14 is inserted into thescrew hole 15 of thefastening portion 21, and is screwed into thescrew hole 9 of theceiling frame 10. Thus, as illustrated inFIG. 9B , both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14, that is, are secured to theceiling 6. - Herein, as illustrated in
FIG. 10B , thefastening portion 21 of thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 is inserted into themain hole 61 a of theattachment hole 61, the left and right ends of the frontrotation locking piece 22 a are fitted into the pair of left and 61 c and 61 d of theright concaves attachment hole 61, and the rearrotation locking piece 22 c is fitted into the rear concave 61 h of theattachment hole 61. - As illustrated in
FIG. 11 , when the tighteningtool 54 is loosened in order that thearm 52 is allowed to rotate about the firstvertical axis 56 with respect to themount 51, the direction of thevideo camera 3 can be changed. Herein, theattachment hole 61 is not formed into a circular shape. Further, as illustrated inFIG. 10B , therotation locking pieces 22 a of thehook member 5 is fitted into the 61 c and 61 d of theconcaves attachment hole 61 and therotation locking piece 22 c of thehook member 5 is fitted into the concave 61 h of theattachment hole 61, so that both themount 51 and thehook member 5 are secured to theceiling 6. Thus, themount 51 can be prevented from rotating together with thearm 52. More specifically, the 22 a and 22 c of therotation locking pieces hook member 5 abut against the abutment portions of the 61 c, 61 d and 61 h at three points, so that each rotation locking piece is prevented from being disengaged from the abutment portion. Thus, theconcaves mount 51 can be prevented from rotating. - (3) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type C by means of theattachment unit 1, thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 illustrated inFIGS. 5A and 5B is fitted into theattachment hole 61 in themount 51 from below. Then, thescrew 14 is inserted into thescrew hole 15 of thefastening portion 26, and is screwed into thescrew hole 9 of theceiling frame 10. Thus, as illustrated inFIG. 9B , both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14, that is, are secured to theceiling 6. - Herein, as illustrated in
FIG. 10C , thefastening portion 26 of thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 is inserted into themain hole 61 a of theattachment hole 61, the pair of left and right 27 c and 27 d formed at the front side of therotation locking pieces fastening portion 26 are fitted into the 61 e and 61 f of therear concaves attachment hole 61, the pair of left and right 27 g and 27 h formed at the rear side of therotation locking pieces fastening portion 26 are fitted into the 61 g and 61 i of therear concaves attachment hole 61, and the 61 j and 61 k of therear convexes attachment hole 61 are fitted into a space between the 27 g and 27 h.rotation locking pieces - As illustrated in
FIG. 11 , when the tighteningtool 54 is loosened in order that thearm 52 is allowed to rotate about the firstvertical axis 56 with respect to themount 51, the direction of thevideo camera 3 can be changed. Herein, theattachment hole 61 is not formed into a circular shape. Further, as illustrated inFIG. 10C , the 27 c, 27 d, 27 g and 27 h of therotation locking pieces hook member 5 are fitted into the 61 e, 61 f, 61 g and 61 i of theconcaves attachment hole 61, respectively, and the 61 j and 61 k are fitted into the space between theconvexes 27 g and 27 h. Further, the tip ends of therotation locking pieces 27 a and 27 b abut against the inner wall at the tip end of therotation locking pieces main hole 61 a, and the middle 27 e and 27 f abut against inner walls at the both sides of therotation locking pieces main hole 61 a, respectively; therefore, both themount 51 and thehook member 5 are secured to theceiling 6. Thus, themount 51 can be prevented from rotating together with thearm 52. - (4) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type D by means of theattachment unit 1, thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 illustrated inFIGS. 6A and 6B is fitted into theattachment hole 61 in themount 51 from below. Then, thescrew 14 is inserted into thescrew hole 15 of thefastening portion 34, and is screwed into thescrew hole 9 of theceiling frame 10. Thus, as illustrated inFIG. 9B , both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14, that is, are secured to theceiling 6. - Herein, as illustrated in
FIG. 10D , thefastening portion 34 of thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 is inserted intomain hole 61 a of theattachment hole 61, and the respectiverotation locking pieces 35 a to 35 d are fitted into themain hole 61 a. - As illustrated in
FIG. 11 , when the tighteningtool 54 is loosened in order that thearm 52 is allowed to rotate about the firstvertical axis 56 with respect to themount 51, the direction of thevideo camera 3 can be changed. Herein, theattachment hole 61 is not formed into a circular shape. Further, as illustrated inFIG. 10D , the 35 a and 35 b of therotation locking pieces hook member 5 are fitted into the inner wall of themain hole 61 a of theattachment hole 61; therefore, both themount 51 and thehook member 5 are secured to theceiling 6. Thus, themount 51 can be prevented from rotating together with thearm 52. - (5) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type E by means of theattachment unit 1, thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 illustrated inFIGS. 7A and 7B is fitted into theattachment hole 61 in themount 51 from below. Then, thescrew 14 is inserted into thescrew hole 15 of thefastening portion 40, and is screwed into thescrew hole 9 of theceiling frame 10. Thus, as illustrated inFIG. 9B , both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14, that is, are secured to theceiling 6. - Herein, as illustrated in
FIG. 10E , thefastening portion 40 of thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 is inserted into themain hole 61 a of theattachment hole 61, and the rear end of the rearrotation locking piece 41 b is fitted into the rear concave 61 h of theattachment hole 61. - As illustrated in
FIG. 11 , when the tighteningtool 54 is loosened in order that thearm 52 is allowed to rotate about the firstvertical axis 56 with respect to themount 51, the direction of thevideo camera 3 can be changed. Herein, theattachment hole 61 is not formed into a circular shape. Further, therotation locking pieces 41 a to 41 d of thehook member 5 are fitted into themain hole 61 a, and the 41 c and 41 d abut against the both side walls of therotation locking pieces main hole 61 a, respectively. Therefore, when themount 51 slides forward with respect to thehook member 5, therotation locking piece 41 b of thehook member 5 is fitted into the concave 61 h of theattachment hole 61 as illustrated inFIG. 10E . Hence, both themount 51 and thehook member 5 are secured to theceiling 6; thus, themount 51 can be prevented from rotating together with thearm 52. - (6) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type F by means of theattachment unit 1, thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 illustrated inFIGS. 8A and 8B is fitted into theattachment hole 61 in themount 51 from below. Then, thescrew 14 is inserted into thescrew hole 15 of thefastening portion 45, and is screwed into thescrew hole 9 of theceiling frame 10. Thus, as illustrated inFIG. 9B , both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14, that is, are secured to theceiling 6. - Herein, as illustrated in
FIG. 10F , thefastening portion 45 of thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 is inserted into themain hole 61 a of theattachment hole 61, and the rear end of the “T”-shaped rearrotation locking piece 46 b is fitted into the rear concave 61 h of theattachment hole 61. Further, the tip ends of the shorter pieces formed at the portions close to the both sides of the longer piece of the frontrotation locking piece 46 a abut against the inner wall of themain hole 61 a. - As illustrated in
FIG. 11 , when the tighteningtool 54 is loosened in order that thearm 52 is allowed to rotate about the firstvertical axis 56 with respect to themount 51, the direction of thevideo camera 3 can be changed. Herein, theattachment hole 61 is not formed into a circular shape. Further, as illustrated inFIG. 10F , therotation locking piece 46 b of thehook member 5 is fitted into the concave 61 h of theattachment hole 61, and the tip ends of the shorter pieces formed at the portions close to the both sides of the longer piece of therotation locking piece 46 a abut against the inner wall of themain hole 61 a. Therefore, both themount 51 and thehook member 5 are secured to theceiling 6; thus, themount 51 can be prevented from rotating together with thearm 52. - As described in the aforementioned (1) to (6) with reference to
FIGS. 10A to 10F, theattachment hole 61 in themount 51 is formed so as to be applied to plural (six) types of thefitting parts 13 of thehook members 5. Therefore, theattachment unit 1 can be used for all of thesquad cars 2 of types A to F. Accordingly, thevideo camera 3 can be installed in all of thesquad cars 2 of types A to F by means of theattachment unit 1. This leads to effects of cost reduction and the like. - In a case that the
attachment unit 1 is attached by means of thehook member 5 of the right sun visor, as shown by a solid line inFIG. 11 , aroom mirror 63 is located at an immediately left position of thevideo camera 3. A distance between the firstvertical axis 56 serving as a center of rotation and the installation position of thevideo camera 3 is equal to the length of thearm 52. Therefore, if thearm 52 is allowed to rotate about the firstvertical axis 56 so as to oppose theroom mirror 63, that is, rotate in a clockwise direction, thevideo camera 3 moves about the firstvertical axis 56. Thus, even when theroom mirror 63 adjoins to the left side of thevideo camera 3, thevideo camera 3 never interferes with theroom mirror 63. - In addition, a
connector 3 a of thevideo camera 3 is positioned rearward with respect to thearm attaching plate 51 b of themount 51. Further, the firstvertical axis 56 is shifted leftward with respect to thecenter line 57 of themount 51. Accordingly, as shown by an imaginary line inFIG. 11 , in a case that thearm 52 is allowed to rotate about the firstvertical axis 56 by 180° so as to change the direction of thevideo camera 3, theconnector 3 a rotates by 180° at a position rearward thearm attaching plate 51 b. Thus, acable 3 b connected to theconnector 3 a never interferes with thearm attaching plate 51 b. - In the first embodiment, the
attachment hole 61 in themount 51 is formed in accordance with thefitting parts 13 of thehook members 5 for thesquad cars 2 of six types A to F; however, the present invention is not limited thereto. - Next, description will be given of a second embodiment with reference to
FIGS. 12A to 14. - A
mount 51 includes a mountmain body 66, and one ofmount replacement parts 67 a to 67 f each attached to/detached from the mountmain body 66 and formed into a square flat plate shape. Herein, there are prepared plural (six) mount replacement parts in correspondence with thefitting parts 13 of thehook members 5 for thesquad cars 2 of plural (six) types A to F illustrated inFIGS. 3A, 3B , 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B, 7A, 7B, 8A and 8B. - As illustrated in
FIG. 12B , screw holes 68 are formed at four corners of each of themount replacement parts 67 a to 67 f. As illustrated inFIG. 12A , asquare opening 69 is formed in the mountmain body 66, and each of themount replacement parts 67 a to 67 f is fittable into/removable from theopening 69. At four corners of theopening 69, catchingpieces 70 are provided for catching one of themount replacement parts 67 a to 67 f fitted into the opening 69 from below. Ascrew hole 71 is formed in each catchingpiece 70. Fourcountersunk screws 73 are inserted into the screw holes 68 of one of themount replacement parts 67 a to 67 f and, then, are screwed into the screw holes 71 of the catchingpieces 70, respectively. Thus, as illustrated inFIG. 14 , each of themount replacement parts 67 a to 67 f is secured to the mountmain body 66. - As illustrated in
FIG. 12B , anattachment hole 72 a is formed in themount replacement part 67 a for thesquad car 2 of type A. Theattachment hole 72 a is formed in correspondence with thefitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 3A and 3B ) for thesquad car 2 of type A. - An
attachment hole 72 b is formed in themount replacement part 67 b for thesquad car 2 of type B. Theattachment hole 72 b is formed in correspondence with thefitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 4A and 4B ) for thesquad car 2 of type B. - An
attachment hole 72 c is formed in themount replacement part 67 c for thesquad car 2 of type C. Theattachment hole 72 c is formed in correspondence with thefitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 5A and 5B ) for thesquad car 2 of type C. - An
attachment hole 72 d is formed in themount replacement part 67 d for thesquad car 2 of type D. Theattachment hole 72 d is formed in correspondence with thefitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 6A and 6B ) for thesquad car 2 of type D. - An
attachment hole 72 e is formed in themount replacement part 67 e for thesquad car 2 of type E. Theattachment hole 72 e is formed in correspondence with thefitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 7A and 7B ) for thesquad car 2 of type E. - An
attachment hole 72 f is formed in themount replacement part 67 f for thesquad car 2 of type F. Theattachment hole 72 f is formed in correspondence with thefitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 8A and 8B ) for thesquad car 2 of type F. - Hereinafter, description will be given of functional effects in the aforementioned configuration.
- (1) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type A by means of theattachment unit 1, as illustrated inFIG. 13 , themount replacement part 67 a for thesquad car 2 of type A is fitted into theopening 69 and, then, is fastened to the mountmain body 66 with the countersunk screws 73. Thus, as illustrated inFIG. 14 , themount replacement part 67 a for thesquad car 2 of type A is caught by the catchingpieces 70, and is secured to the mountmain body 66. - Thereafter, the
fitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 3A and 3B ) for thesquad car 2 of type A is fitted into theattachment hole 72 a in themount 51 from below. Then, thescrew 14 is inserted into thescrew hole 15 of thefastening portion 16, and is screwed into thescrew hole 9 of theceiling frame 10. Thus, as illustrated inFIG. 1 , both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14, that is, are secured to theceiling 6. - (2) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type B by means of theattachment unit 1, as in a similar manner to that in the aforementioned (1), themount replacement part 67 b for thesquad car 2 of type B (seeFIG. 12B ) is fitted into theopening 69 and, then, is fastened to the mountmain body 66 with the countersunk screws 73. - Thereafter, the
fitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 4A and 4B ) for thesquad car 2 of type B is fitted into theattachment hole 72 b in themount 51 from below. Then, thescrew 14 is inserted into thescrew hole 15 of thefastening portion 16, and is screwed into thescrew hole 9 of theceiling frame 10. Thus, as illustrated inFIG. 1 , both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14, that is, are secured to theceiling 6. - (3) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type C, as in a similar manner to that in the aforementioned (1), themount replacement part 67 c for thesquad car 2 of type C (seeFIG. 12B ) is attached to the mountmain body 66. Thereafter, thefitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 5A and 5B ) for thesquad car 2 of type C is fitted into theattachment hole 72 c in themount 51 from below. Thus, both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14. - (4) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type D, as in a similar manner to that in the aforementioned (1), themount replacement part 67 d for thesquad car 2 of type D (seeFIG. 12B ) is attached to the mountmain body 66. Thereafter, thefitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 6A and 6B ) for thesquad car 2 of type D is fitted into theattachment hole 72 d in themount 51 from below. Thus, both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14. - (5) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type E, as in a similar manner to that in the aforementioned (1), themount replacement part 67 e for thesquad car 2 of type E (seeFIG. 12B ) is attached to the mountmain body 66. Thereafter, thefitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 7A and 7B ) for thesquad car 2 of type E is fitted into theattachment hole 72 e in themount 51 from below. Thus, both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14. - (6) In a case that the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2 of type F, as in a similar manner to that in the aforementioned (1), themount replacement part 67 f for thesquad car 2 of type F (seeFIG. 12B ) is attached to the mountmain body 66. Thereafter, thefitting part 13 of the hook member 5 (seeFIGS. 8A and 8B ) for thesquad car 2 of type F is fitted into theattachment hole 72 f in themount 51 from below. Thus, both thehook member 5 and themount 51 are fastened to theceiling frame 10 with thescrew 14. - As described in the aforementioned (1) to (6), one of the
mount replacement parts 67 a to 67 f is detached from the mountmain body 66 and, then, another one of themount replacement parts 67 a to 67 f is attached to the mountmain body 66. Thus, a shape of an attachment hole can be changed in accordance with a type of a squad car. Accordingly, theattachment unit 1 can be used for all of thesquad cars 2 of types A to F. The mountmain body 66 taking a part of the mount 51 (seeFIG. 12A ) to be used herein is one type. This leads to effects of cost reduction and the like. - In the second embodiment, the six
mount replacement parts 67 a to 67 f having the attachment holes 72 a to 72 f different in shape from each other are used; however, the present invention is not limited thereto. - In the first and second embodiments, the
video camera 3 is installed in thesquad car 2. However, thevideo camera 3 may be installed in a vehicle other than thesquad car 2, such as a passenger car or a truck. Further, it is assumed in the first and second embodiments that the vehicle such as thesquad car 2 is of a left-hand drive type. Therefore, theattachment unit 1 is attached by means of thehook member 5 for the right sun visor. If the present invention is applied to a vehicle of a right-hand drive type, theattachment unit 1 is attached by means of ahook member 5 for the left sun visor. -
FIG. 15 is a perspective view illustrating amount 51 in a third embodiment of the present invention. In the third embodiment, there is no necessity that theattachment hole 61 having a special shape (seeFIG. 2 ) is not formed in abase end plate 51 a of themount 51. In the third embodiment, an oval-shapedattachment hole 61 larger in size than thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 is formed. Further, at both sides of thebase end plate 51 a of themount 51, fourscrew holes 62 opened at theattachment hole 61 side are formed while being opened in a width direction of thebase end plate 51 a. However, positions where the screw holes 62 are formed are not limited to the aforementioned positions. The screw holes 62 may be formed from the rear end side of themount 51 to theattachment hole 61 side. Alternatively, the screw holes 62 may be formed radially from theattachment hole 61. In addition, a count of the screw holes 62 is not limited to four. It is desirable that the count of the screw holes 62 to be formed is large as much as possible. Aset screw 64 is screwed into eachscrew hole 62. Theset screw 64 protrudes from theattachment hole 61 to serve as an abutment portion. A length of theset screw 64 protruding from theattachment hole 61 is adjusted, so that thefitting part 13 or any one of therotation locking pieces 17 a to 17 d of thehook member 5 is prevented from being disengaged from the abutment portion. - Upon attachment of the
mount 51, thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 is inserted into theattachment hole 61. Then, theset screws 64 are allowed to protrude from theattachment hole 61 by means of awrench 50. Thus, theset screws 64 are engaged with therotation locking pieces 17 a to 17 d of thehook member 5. Alternatively, thefitting part 13 is secured by a tip ends of the set screws 64. Then, thehook member 5 is fastened to theceiling 6 with thescrew 14 such that themount 51 is secured to theceiling 6. - In the third embodiment, there is no necessity that an
attachment hole 61 having a special shape is formed in thebase end plate 51 a of themount 51. Therefore, themount 51 in the third embodiment can be used forvarious hook members 5. In the second embodiment, the sixmount replacement parts 67 a to 67 f are prepared for the sixfitting parts 13 of thehook members 5 illustrated inFIGS. 3A, 3B , 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B, 7A, 7B, 8A and 8B. However, themount 51 in the third embodiment requires no mount replacement part. -
FIG. 16 is a perspective view illustrating amount 51 in a fourth embodiment of the present invention. In the fourth embodiment, asquare attachment hole 61 larger in size than thefitting part 13 of thehook member 5 is formed. Asupport edge 65 is formed at an outer peripheral edge of theattachment hole 61. A pair of 80 and 80 each formed into an almost “U” shape are supported by theengagement members support edge 65. The pair of 80 and 80 can slide in a longitudinal direction of theengagement members mount 51.Irregularities 81 are formed at an inner face of eachengagement member 80 so as to be engaged with therotation locking pieces 17 a to 17 d of thehook member 5. Each of theirregularities 81 serves as an abutment portion. Herein, the pair of 80 and 80 may be arranged so as to slide on theengagement members mount 51 in a lateral direction of theattachment hole 61. - In order to secure the
engagement member 80 to themount 51, a countersunkscrew 83 is inserted into a long hole (not illustrated) formed in thesupport edge 65 through ascrew hole 82 formed in theengagement member 80, and is tightened with a nut (not illustrated) at a rear face of themount 51. - Upon attachment of the
mount 51, the countersunkscrew 83 of theengagement member 80 is loosened, theengagement member 80 is slid such that theirregularities 81 are engaged with therotation locking pieces 17 a to 17 d of thehook member 5. Then, theirregularities 81 are prevented from being disengaged from therotation locking pieces 17 a to 17 d of thehook member 5. - In the fourth embodiment, there is also no necessity that an
attachment hole 61 having a special shape is formed in thebase end plate 51 a of themount 51. Therefore, themount 51 in the fourth embodiment can be used forvarious hook members 5. Further, themount 51 in the fourth embodiment requires no mount replacement part unlike the second embodiment. - The attachment unit according to the present invention is useful in a case that a video camera is installed in a squad car. Further, the attachment unit according to the present invention is also useful in a case that a video camera is installed in a passenger car or the like.
