Abstract

This invention is concerned with the production of a frame by means of recycling the mouth of a disposed aluminum can and use such frame as main component for advertising, promotion and novelty goods.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention is a product of investigation on options for an economic and profitable use of discarded materials (aluminum cans in this case).
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • On the field of aluminum recycling, this invention contributes to save and substitute materials like iron, wood, plastics, virgin or recycled aluminum and other, due to the low cost of the product, which is going to replace in its favor efforts and resources otherwise more expensive and consuming of natural resources. On the other hand, the basic part of the invention (the frame, processed) or even the finished product can be obtained very cheap from less developed regions due to considerable lower labor costs and abundance of disposed cans, therefore, long lasting items for advertising, promotion or other novelties could be offered at very competitive prices as export goods into big developed markets.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The invention consists of a circular frame obtained from the mouth of a disposed aluminum can (i.e. 355 ml soft drink or beer can) separated manually, quickly and easily from the body of the can with help of a sharp knife (gloves recommended) and then modified by cutting off a round piece from the center, using the adequate bit, attached to a power drill (i.e. Freud forster 1¼ bit. This frame is the basic element for the making of a key holder, a button, a refrigerator magnet or other novelties. A circular piece of illustrated and laminated cardboard is attached to the front face of the frame and a corresponding similar piece (illustrated and laminated as well when required) for the back is glued from the other side.
  • For a key holder a piece of wire, with the shape of a U with wings is used to make a hook that goes in between the two pieces of cardboard and inserted through a slot previously made in the frame just to let the U hook pass through and retained by the wings, then a spiral ring is placed in the hook.
  • For a button, it takes a front illustration cardboard piece only and a safety pin is attached to the back piece of cardboard.
  • For a refrigerator magnet it takes a front illustrated piece of cardboard only and a flat magnet is glued to the back piece of cardboard.
