Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates to a protective device for a control rod of a water faucet control, in particular, an outlet control is mounted underneath a water outlet of a faucet body, and the outlet control is provided with a control rod coupled with a soft protective device.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- A convention water faucet uses a knob on the top of the faucet to control water volume. This operation requires a user to hold the knob before they clean their hands. Thus, all germs from the hands are transmitted to the knob.
- In order to solve this problem, a water outlet control came out to the market, which is threaded to the outlet of the faucet. A user can push the control upward to open the faucet outlet and release the control to turn off.
- This design is convenient. However, due to the hard material of the control rod, the direct contact with the user's hand to the control rod is uncomfortable, which may cause injury accidentally.
- It is the primary advantage of the present invention to provide a protective device for a control rod of a water faucet control, which protective device can be replaced or cleaned.
- It is another advantage of the present invention to provide a protective device for a control rod of a water faucet control, which protective device provides a soft touching feeling.
- It is a further advantage of the present invention to provide a protective device for a control rod of a water faucet control, which has a decorative effect to the environment.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective of a preferred embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of a second embodiment of the present invention; and -
FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of a third embodiment of the present invention. - As shown in
FIGS. 1 and 2 , the present invention is incorporated with amain body 2 and anoutlet control 3. Themain body 2 has awater outlet 21 facing downward. Theoutlet control 3 is mounted underneath thewater outlet 21. Theoutlet control 3 is provided with acontrol rod 31. - The
control rod 31 comprises aprotective device 1 made of soft material. (The soft material is silicon, which is capable of the temperature up to 200 degrees Centigrade and can be cleaned with boil water to sanitize.) Thecontrol rod 31 is made of hard plastics and integral with theprotective device 1. Theprotective device 1 may be a separate device from thecontrol rod 31. Theprotective device 1 has a fasteningmember 11 at one end, as shown inFIGS. 2 and 3 . Thecontrol rod 31 also has a fasteningmember 311 at one end corresponding to the fasteningmember 11 of theprotective device 1 for connection purpose. InFIG. 2 thefastening member 11 is a flange, while the fasteningmember 311 of thecontrol rod 31 is a trough. - To operate the present invention, a user may touch the
protective device 1 with the back of his/her hand to activate thecontrol rod 31 to turn on theoutlet control 3. The softprotective device 1 provides the user a comfortable feeling. - Furthermore, the
protective device 1 is coupled to thecontrol rod 31 with thefastening member 11 engaging with thefastening member 311 of thecontrol rod 31. Theprotective device 1 may be disengaged from thecontrol rod 31 for cleaning or replacement. Theprotective device 1 is made of silicon, which is capable of the temperature up to 200 degrees Centigrade and can be cleaned with boil water to sanitize periodically. -
FIG. 4 shows a second embodiment of the present invention, which comprises aprotective device 1A having afastening member 11A and acontrol rod 31A having afastening member 311A. The fasteningmember 11A is a trough, while the fasteningmember 311A is a flange. Theprotective device 1A can be made in a different shape to attract users. -
FIG. 5 is a third embodiment of the present invention, which comprises a protective device 1B and acontrol rod 31B. The protective device 1B has afirst fastening member 11B and asecond fastening member 12B. Thesecond fastening member 12B of the protective device 1B is a bolt. Thecontrol rod 31B comprises afirst fastening member 311B and asecond fastening member 312B. Thesecond fastening member 312B of thecontrol rod 31B is a threaded hole to receive thesecond fastening member 12B of the protective device 1B for secure purpose.
