Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • This invention relates to a protective device for a control rod of a water faucet control, in particular, an outlet control is mounted underneath a water outlet of a faucet body, and the outlet control is provided with a control rod coupled with a soft protective device.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • A convention water faucet uses a knob on the top of the faucet to control water volume. This operation requires a user to hold the knob before they clean their hands. Thus, all germs from the hands are transmitted to the knob.
  • In order to solve this problem, a water outlet control came out to the market, which is threaded to the outlet of the faucet. A user can push the control upward to open the faucet outlet and release the control to turn off.
  • This design is convenient. However, due to the hard material of the control rod, the direct contact with the user's hand to the control rod is uncomfortable, which may cause injury accidentally.
  • SUBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • It is the primary advantage of the present invention to provide a protective device for a control rod of a water faucet control, which protective device can be replaced or cleaned.
  • It is another advantage of the present invention to provide a protective device for a control rod of a water faucet control, which protective device provides a soft touching feeling.
  • It is a further advantage of the present invention to provide a protective device for a control rod of a water faucet control, which has a decorative effect to the environment.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective of a preferred embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of a second embodiment of the present invention; and
  • FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of a third embodiment of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the present invention is incorporated with a main body 2 and an outlet control 3. The main body 2 has a water outlet 21 facing downward. The outlet control 3 is mounted underneath the water outlet 21. The outlet control 3 is provided with a control rod 31.
  • The control rod 31 comprises a protective device 1 made of soft material. (The soft material is silicon, which is capable of the temperature up to 200 degrees Centigrade and can be cleaned with boil water to sanitize.) The control rod 31 is made of hard plastics and integral with the protective device 1. The protective device 1 may be a separate device from the control rod 31. The protective device 1 has a fastening member 11 at one end, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. The control rod 31 also has a fastening member 311 at one end corresponding to the fastening member 11 of the protective device 1 for connection purpose. In FIG. 2 the fastening member 11 is a flange, while the fastening member 311 of the control rod 31 is a trough.
  • To operate the present invention, a user may touch the protective device 1 with the back of his/her hand to activate the control rod 31 to turn on the outlet control 3. The soft protective device 1 provides the user a comfortable feeling.
  • Furthermore, the protective device 1 is coupled to the control rod 31 with the fastening member 11 engaging with the fastening member 311 of the control rod 31. The protective device 1 may be disengaged from the control rod 31 for cleaning or replacement. The protective device 1 is made of silicon, which is capable of the temperature up to 200 degrees Centigrade and can be cleaned with boil water to sanitize periodically.
  • FIG. 4 shows a second embodiment of the present invention, which comprises a protective device 1A having a fastening member 11A and a control rod 31A having a fastening member 311A. The fastening member 11A is a trough, while the fastening member 311A is a flange. The protective device 1A can be made in a different shape to attract users.
  • FIG. 5 is a third embodiment of the present invention, which comprises a protective device 1B and a control rod 31B. The protective device 1B has a first fastening member 11B and a second fastening member 12B. The second fastening member 12B of the protective device 1B is a bolt. The control rod 31B comprises a first fastening member 311B and a second fastening member 312B. The second fastening member 312B of the control rod 31B is a threaded hole to receive the second fastening member 12B of the protective device 1B for secure purpose.
