Abstract

A primary, finger-worn ring is provided with a secondary ring hingedly and selectively coupled about a stone on the primary, finger-worn ring. The secondary ring may be shaped and sized in accordance with the goal of fitting about a solitary or other stone embodiment placed on the primary ring.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention relates to jewelry, particularly an enhancer intended to be coupled and placed about another finger-worn ring.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • A removable ring enhancer clasps around the main stone of a ring thereby augmenting the center jewel by surrounding it with decorative stones or work. The enhancer closes around the center jewel, thereby re-dressing the original ring without permanently modifying it. The device consists of an O-shaped jacket that fits around the ring's center stone by hinging open at one point and clasping shut on the opposite side; the jacket locks snugly to the center jewel, the jewel's supporting structure, and the ring body, staying in place by pressure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a top view of a preferred embodiment of a secondary ring, intended for placement about a primary, finger-worn ring, the secondary ring shown in an open condition.
  • FIG. 2 is a top view of a preferred embodiment of a secondary ring, intended for placement about a primary, finger-worn ring, the secondary ring shown in closed condition.
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a primary, finger-worn ring, intended for use with the secondary ring.
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a primary, finger-worn ring, with the secondary ring coupled about a stone on the primary, finger-worn ring.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Although the disclosure hereof is detailed and exact to enable those skilled in the art to practice the invention, the physical embodiments herein disclosed merely exemplify the invention which may be embodied in other specific structure. While the preferred embodiment has been described, the details may be changed without departing from the invention, which is defined by the claims.
  • Referring to FIG. 1, a top view of a preferred embodiment of a secondary ring 10 is shown, the secondary ring 10 shown in an open condition. In an open condition, a first portion 12 a of the secondary ring 10 is coupled with a second portion 12 b of the secondary ring 10. Preferably, a hinge 16 couples first and second portions 12 a and 12 b.
  • Secondary ring 10 is preferably provided with ornamentation 16, which may comprise jewels or any other type of ornamentation preferred by the end user.
  • A coupler 24 is provided on one of the first and second portions 12 a and 12 b, for later coupling with coupler receiver 22 provided on the other of the first and second portions 12 a and 12 b.
  • Referring now to FIG. 2, a top view of the secondary ring 10 is shown, the secondary ring shown in a closed condition, with end portions of the first and second portions 12 a and 12 b now coupled by the coupler 24 and coupler receiver 22.
  • Referring now to FIG. 3, a perspective view of a primary, finger-worn ring 40 is shown, intended for use with the secondary ring 10.
  • Referring now to FIG. 4, a perspective view of the primary, finger-worn ring 40, with the secondary ring 10 coupled about a stone on the primary, finger-worn ring 40. The secondary ring 10 may be shaped and sized in accordance with the goal of fitting about a solitary or other stone embodiment placed on the primary ring 40, which of course can comprise numerous configurations.
  • The foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Furthermore, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described. While the preferred embodiment has been described, the details may be changed without departing from the invention, which is defined by the claims.
