Abstract

A paint brush storage and cleaning devise comprised of a durable plastic ring to be placed in a five-gallon paint bucket. Plastic handles are molded into the sides of the ring to allow for easy maneuvering of the ring in and out of the bucket. The placement of the ring one inch below the lip of the bucket allows for the use of the paint bucket lid. Six (6) plastic hooks are molded in the sides of the plastic ring. From twelve (12) to eighteen (18) paint brushes, depending on the size of the brushes, can be hung on the hooks through pre-drilled holes in the brush handles. The brushes hang downward allowing the bristles to remain suspended in water or cleaning fluid.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
  • I am a painting contractor. I invented the “Brush Hanger” device as a result of my need to be able to easily clean, store and protect the integrity of my paint brushes. I need to keep my paint brushes in good condition during paint jobs without having to clean or wrap them at the end of each work day. By utilizing the “Brush Hanger”, the brushes are kept viable for the next day of work and since it does not interfere with the lid of the bucket, they are easily transported without any mess.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • A plastic ring to be inserted in a 5-gallon paint bucket which holds paint brushes on plastic hooks with the bristles facing downward. The bucket can be filled with water or a liquid solvent and the bristles of the brushes can remain suspended in the liquid.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • A ring inserted into a 5-gallon paint bucket, one (1) inch down from the lip of the bucket. The ring is made of 100% recycled plastic manufactured through injection molding. The ring is three-quarter (¾) inch or 23 cm thick, one and three-quarter (1-¾) inches in height and eleven and one-quarter (11-¼) inches out and ten and one-half (10-½) inches in diameter. Six (6) plastic hooks, one quarter (¼) inch wide and one and three-quarter (1-¾) inches long, are molded to the plastic ring. From two to three brushes can be hung on each hook depending on the size of the brushes. Plastic handles are molded in the sides of the ring which are used to easily maneuver the ring in and out of the bucket.

Claims (5)

1. A paint brush storage and cleaning device which is comprised of a ring which is placed in a 5-gallon paint bucket, one inch from the lip of the bucket. The ring is made of 100% recycled molded plastic and the placement one inch from the lip of the bucket allows for the use of the bucket lid.
2. A paint brush storage and cleaning device as claimed in claim 1 with six (6) plastic hooks molded to the plastic ring to allow for the hanging of brushes ranging in size from one (1) inch to four (4) inches wide.
3. A paint brush storage and cleaning device as claimed in claim 1 with six (6) plastic hooks molded to the plastic ring to hold from twelve (12) to eighteen (18) paint brushes, depending on the size of the brushes, with the bristles facing downward.
4. A paint brush storage and cleaning device as claimed in claim 1 which, depending upon the amount of water or cleaning liquid in the bucket, allows the bristles of the paint brushes to remain suspended in the liquid.
5. A paint brush storage and cleaning device as claimed in claim 1 which has plastic handles molded in the sides of the plastic ring allowing for the ring to be easily maneuvered in and out of the bucket.
