Abstract
A food box includes a base having four side walls and a cover is connected to one of the four side walls so as to be mounted to the base. The cover has a window and a transparent film is attached to the cover and covers the window so that the customers can check the food in the food box.
Description
- The present invention relates to a food box having a windowed cover which allows the customers to check the food via the window.
- A conventional food box for take out service generally includes a base and a cover which is mounted to the open top of the base in which food is received. The manufacturers usually focus on the sealing feature of the food box and so as to prevent the food especially liquid of the food from leakage. Some of the lunch boxes are packed in the central kitchen so that the customers can only choose the lunch boxes according the menu or the description on the rack or the lunch boxes. Nevertheless, for the customers, they are more, interested in the food in the box rather than the worry of leakage because most of the food boxes in the market are well developed to effectively avoid from leakage. Therefore, in order to allow the customers to check how the food in the food boxes or lunch boxes is treated, both of the customers and the merchants take a lot of time to open and close the cover of the box repeatedly. This delays the business and the customers are not satisfied of the time-consuming service.
- The present invention intends to provide a food box that has a cover with at least one window covered by a transparent film so as to display the food in the box.
- In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a food box comprising a base having four side walls and A cover which is mounted to the base and has a window. A transparent film is attached to the cover and covers the window.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
-
FIG. 1 is a plan view of the food box of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view to show the food box with the cover being opened; -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view to show the food box with the cover being closed, and -
FIG. 4 shows the transparent film is to be attached to the cover. - Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, the
food box 10 of the present invention comprises a base which is composed of afirst part 11 and asecond part 12. Each of thefirst part 11 and thesecond part 12 has twoside plates 13 on two opposite sides thereof, and twoend wall plate 14 on two opposite ends thereof. Thefirst part 11 is connected to thesecond part 12 by two respective adjacentside wall plates 13. Theside wall plates 13 are connected to theend wall plates 14 by twocorner portions 15 on two ends of each of theside plates 13 of thefirst part 11 and thesecond part 12. Anextension portion 141 extends from each of theend wall plates 14 of thesecond part 12. - Each
corner portion 15 can be folded at the center to pull adjacentside wall plate 13 and theend wall plate 14 of each of thefirst part 11 and thesecond part 12 so that each of thefirst part 11 and thesecond part 12 has four side walls. Theextensions 141 are then glued to theend wall plates 14 of thefirst part 11. A plurality ofseparation ribs 30 can be attached to thesecond part 12 by gluingfixing plates 31 of theseparation ribs 30 to theside wall plates 13 of thesecond part 12. - A
cover 16 has four sides and one of which is connected to the other one of theside wall plates 13 of thesecond part 12. Threeside wall plates 17 are connected to the other three sides of thecover 16 so that thecover 16 can be mounted to the base. Twowindows 161 are defined through thecover 16 and atransparent film 20 is attached to thecover 16 and covering thewindows 161. Thetransparent film 20 can be Dupont Biomax PET 4024, Low Density PE, or heat-resistant film. Thecover 16 can be made independently from the base and thefilm 20 is conveniently attached to thecover 16 by machine. - While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
