Abstract

A vertical blind positioning system that includes a number of elastic strips each provided with companion hook and loop fasteners on opposed ends and surfaces such that each elastic strip can be formed into a closed loop of varying user selected sizes; in use, one or more of the elastic strips being formed into a closed loop around a number of vertical hanging blind elements of a vertical blind to allow a designer to decoratively connect and orient the various vertical blind elements to achieve desired aesthetic affect.

Description

    TECHNICAL FIELD
  • The present invention relates to decorative positioning devices and more particularly to a vertical blind positioning system that includes a number of elastic strips each provided with fastening means, such as companion hook and loop fasteners, on opposed ends and surfaces such that each elastic strip can be formed into a closed loop of varying user-selected sizes; in use, one or more of the elastic strips being formed into a closed loop around a number of vertical hanging blind elements of a vertical blind to allow a designer to decoratively connect and orient the various vertical blind elements to achieve desired aesthetic affect. [0001]
  • BACKGROUND ART
  • Many individuals enjoy having vertical blinds but are often put off by the mechanical, industrial look of the blinds. Many of these individuals would like to have a vertical blind positioning system which would allow them to position and orient the vertical blind elements of the vertical blind in order to achieve an aesthetic affect. It would be desirable, therefore, to have a vertical blind element positioning system. [0002]
  • GENERAL SUMMARY DISCUSSION OF THE INVENTION
  • It is thus an object of the invention to provide vertical blind positioning system that includes a number of elastic strips each provided with fastening means, such as companion hook and loop fasteners, on opposed ends and surfaces such that each elastic strip can be formed into a closed loop of varying user-selected sizes; in use, one or more of the elastic strips being formed into a closed loop around a number of vertical hanging blind elements of a vertical blind to allow a designer to decoratively connect and orient the various vertical blind elements to achieve desired aesthetic affect. [0003]
  • Accordingly, a vertical blind positioning system is provided. The vertical blind positioning system includes a number of elastic strips, each provided with fastening means, such as companion hook and loop fasteners, on opposed ends and surfaces such that each elastic strip can be formed into a closed loop of varying user-selected sizes; in use, one or more of the elastic strips being formed into a closed loop around a number of vertical hanging blind elements of a vertical blind to allow a designer to decoratively connect and orient the various vertical blind elements to achieve desired aesthetic affect.[0004]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • For a further understanding of the nature and objects of the present invention, reference should be made to the following detailed description, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which like elements are given the same or analogous reference numbers and wherein: [0005]
  • FIG. 1 is a plan view of an exemplary embodiment of one of the number of elastic strips of the vertical blind positioning of the present invention. [0006]
  • FIG. 2 is a plan view of the opposite side of the elastic strip of FIG. 1. [0007]
  • FIG. 3 shows an optional button hole element that includes a hook and loop fastener along one edge and a buttonhole through the second end. [0008]
  • FIG. 4 shows one preferred embodiment of the aesthetic affect achieved by the use of the vertical blind positioning system of FIG. 1. [0009]
  • FIG. 5 shows a second aesthetic affect achievable using two of the vertical blind positioning of FIG. 1.[0010]
  • EXEMPLARY MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
  • FIGS. 1-5 shows various aspects of an exemplary embodiment of the vertical blind positioning system of the present invention generally designated [0011] 10. The vertical blind positioning system 1 includes a number of elastic strips 12 each provided with companion hook and loop fasteners 14, 16 on opposed ends 18, 20 and surfaces 22, 24 such that each elastic strip 12 can be formed into a closed loop of varying user-selected sizes. The elastic strip is any material that returns to its original shape after being stretched or expanded, including, but not limited to, yarn, thread, rubber, cotton, polyester, metals, latex, knitted or woven materials. The hook and loop fasteners of FIG. 1 provide one embodiment of the fastening means used to form the closed loop. Hook and loop fasteners are the generic name for Velcro® fasteners. Velcro is a registered trademark of Velcro Industries. Any reusable fastening means can be utilized in the present invention, including, but not limited to buckles, grommets, snap hooks and reusable tape.
  • In use, one or more of the [0012] elastic strips 12 are formed into a closed loop around a number of vertical hanging blind elements 30 of a vertical blind 32 to allow a designer to decoratively connect and orient the various vertical blind elements to achieve desired aesthetic affect.
  • It can be seen from the preceding description that vertical blind positioning system has been provided. [0013]
  • It is noted that the embodiment of the vertical blind positioning system described herein in detail for exemplary purposes is of course subject to many different variations in structure, design, application and methodology. Because many varying and different embodiments may be made within the scope of the inventive concepts herein taught, and because many modifications may be made in the embodiment herein detailed in accordance with the descriptive requirements of the law, it is to be understood that the details herein are to be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense. [0014]
