IMPROVEMENT IN CLOTH ES-PINS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 200,299, dated February 12,1878; application filed December 31, 1877.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SEYMOUR L. Hotron- KISS, of Tioga, in the county of Tioga and State of Pennsylvania, have invented an Improved Glothes-Pin, of which the following is a specification:
My improvement relates to a clothes-pin adapted'to be applied to rope or metal lines of difierent diameters.
My invention consists in constructing a clothes-pin with two arms projecting in opposite directions on each side ofa curved central portion, as hereinafter described.
The object of my invention is to produce a clothes-pin having the following advantages: A pin applicable to thick or thin clothes-rope or wire line; jaws of increased length, provided with spring-connection; while it is of the same size as an ordinary pin, it is lighter. It can be applied at either end.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved clothes- -pin, and Fig. 2 is a front view thereof.
My improved pin is constructed in the form of the letter N. The outer jaws 7 7 are outturned at their ends 1 1, and the inner jaws are tapered, as shown at 6 6. The tapered portions are connected by means of a narrow.

When one opening receives the rope the other is adapted to hold small articles usually pinned on the larger ones.

Having thus described my invention, the following is what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
A clothes-pin constructed with arms 7 7] and curved central portion 2, as and for the purpose set forth.
