Abstract
A wood floor structure includes a pad layer composed of a plurality of pads and each pad has at least two taper-shaped protrusions extending from each side thereof. Each pad has a rod extending from a top surface thereof. A plurality of wood strips each have at least one hole defined in a bottom thereof so as to receive said rod in said at least one hole.
Description
- The present invention relates to a wood floor structure which includes a pad layer and a wood floor layer on the plastic pad layer. The pad layer includes rods extending upward therefrom and each wood strip of the wood floor layer has holes for receiving the rods.
- A conventional wood floor structure generally builds post footings on the ground and lumber posts extend from the post footings. Lumber girders are supported on the post footings and floor joints are then supported on the lumber girders. Wood strips are connected with each other and fixed on the floor joints. These wood strips each have a flange extending from one side of the wood strip and a groove defined in the other side. The flanges are engaged with the grooves so as to be connected with each other. It requires two different treatment processes to made the flange and the groove for each wood strip. Once the wood strips are engaged with each other by receiving the flange of one wood strip in the groove of the other wood strip, they are difficult to separate from each other. Besides, it takes a lot time to build the foundation of the wood floor and because it is empty below the floor, noise is heard when walking on the wood floor.
- The present invention intends to provide a floor structure that includes a soft pad layer on the ground and a plurality of rods extend from the pad layer, each wood strip has holes defined in a bottom thereof so as to receive the rods therein. The floor structure of the present invention is easily to build and convenient to change the way they are arranged.
- In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a wood floor structure comprising a pad layer and a floor layer connected to a top of the pad layer. The pad layer has a plurality of rods extending from a top surface thereof and each wood strip of the floor layer has at least one hole defied in a bottom thereof so as to receive the rod in the at least one hole.
- The object of the present invention is to provide a wood floor structure that is easily to manufacture and assemble.
- These and further objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, several embodiments in accordance with the present invention.
- FIG. 1 is an exploded view to show a wood floor structure of the present invention;
- FIG. 2 is an exploded view to show the wood strips to be engaged with the pad layer of the present invention;
- FIG. 3 is a perspective view to show a first type of the assembly of the wood strips of the present invention;
- FIG. 4 is a perspective view to show a second type of the assembly of the wood strips of the present invention;
- FIG. 5 is a perspective view to show a third type of the assembly of the wood strips of the present invention, and
- FIG. 6 is a perspective view to show a fourth type of the assembly of the wood strips of the present invention.
- Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the wood floor structure in accordance with the present invention comprises a
pad layer 10 and a floor layer which is engaged on a top of thepad layer 10. Thepad layer 10 is composed of a plurality of pads and each pad has taper-shaped protrusions 11 extending from each side thereof. A taper-shaped recess 12 is defined between any twoadjacent protrusions 11. The pads are easily connected with each other by inserting theprotrusions 11 of one pad into therecesses 12 of the other pad The pads are made of soft material so as to provide a good shock absorbing feature when the floor layer is engaged on thepad layer 10. Each pad has at least onerod 13 extending from a top surface thereof. - The floor layer is composed of a plurality of
wood strips 20 each have at least onehole 21 defined in a bottom thereof so as to receive therod 13 in the at least onehole 21. - The
pad layer 10 is made of soft material so as to absorb vibration and the manufacture of thewood strips 20 is simple. The assembling is simple and can be completed within a short period of time. - FIGS. 4 to 6 respectively show different ways of assembly of the
wood strips 20. Thewood strips 20 can be positioned by the engagement of therods 13 and theholes 21 so that they will not slide. - While we have shown and described various embodiments in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
