Abstract
A collar clip is integrally made of a plastic material by injection molding and is formed of a connection portion, a front plate, and a rear plate. The front plate is connected at one end with the connection portion and is provided at other end with a holding hole. The rear plate is connected at one end with the connection portion and is provided at other end with a protrusion corresponding in location to and engageable with the holding hole, and a retaining portion for retaining the bonding wire of a communication device.
Description
- The present invention relates generally to a collar clip, and more particularly to a collar clip which is made integrally for use along with a communication device.
- As shown in FIG. 1, a prior
art collar clip 10 comprises anupper clip member 11 and alower clip member 12 pivoted with theupper clip member 11 in conjunction with atorsion spring 13. As the rear segments of theupper clip member 11 and thelower clip member 12 are exerted on by force of fingers, thetorsion spring 13 is forcibly deformed to enable the front ends of theupper clip member 11 and thelower clip member 12 to open up to receive a collar. As the rear segments of theupper clip member 11 and thelower clip member 12 are relieved of the force of fingers, the front ends of theupper clip member 11 and thelower clip member 12 are forced by the recovery force of thetorsion spring 13 to return to their original positions. As a result, the clip is held on the collar. In order to enhance the clipping effect of the priorart collar clip 10, thetorsion spring 13 has a relatively large linear diameter. As a result, a user of the priorart collar clip 10 must exert a greater force on the rear segments of the two 11 and 12. On the other hand, if theclip members torsion spring 13 has a relatively small linear diameter, the clipping effect of the priorart collar clip 10 is compromised accordingly. In addition, the priorart collar clip 10 is complicated in construction such that the two 11 and 12 are pivoted together by aclip members pin 14. - The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a collar clip which is simple in construction and is therefore cost-effective.
- In keeping with the principle of the present invention, the foregoing objective of the present invention is attained by a collar clip which is integrally made of a plastic material by injection molding and is formed of an arcuate connection portion, a front plate extending from a front end of the connection portion, and a rear plate extending from a rear end of the connection portion. The front plate is provided in the free end with a holding hole, whereas the rear plate is provided in the free end with a protrusion corresponding in location to the holding hole, and a retaining portion for retaining the bonding wire of a communication device, such as earphone or receiver.
- FIG. 1 shows a side schematic view of a collar clip of the prior art.
- FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 3 shows a side schematic view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 4 shows a schematic view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention in use.
- As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, a
collar clip 20 of the present invention is of a U-shaped construction and is made integrally of a plastic material by injection molding. Thecollar clip 20 comprises anarcuate connection portion 30, afront plate 40 extending from the front end of theconnection portion 30, and arear plate 50 extending from the rear end of theconnection portion 30. - The
front plate 40 is connected at one end with theconnection portion 30 and is provided at other end with anarcuate clip portion 41 which is provided in the midsegment with arectangular holding hole 42, and in the tail end edge with a warpedguide portion 43. - The
rear plate 50 is connected at one end with the connection portion and is provided at other end with anarcuate press portion 51 which is provided in the midsegment with anarcuate protrusion 52 extending in the direction toward theholding hole 42 of thefront plate 40. Theprotrusion 52 is dimensioned to fit into theholding hole 42 of thefront plate 40. Thepress portion 51 is provided in the midsegment with two 53 and 54, which are opposite to each other and are opposite to the back side of thelugs protrusion 52. Located between the two 53 and 54 is a space for accommodating alugs bonding wire 60 of a communication device, such as earphone or receiver. - The
collar clip 20 of the present invention is integrally made of a plastic material by injection molding such that thefront plate 40 and therear plate 50 are provided therebetween with a clipping force. In using thecollar clip 20, thefront plate 40 and therear plate 50 are pulled slightly away from each other such that there is a gap between thefront plate 40 and therear plate 50. The collar is then slid into the gap before thefront plate 40 and therear plate 50 are let go. In the meantime, theprotrusion 52 of thepress portion 51 of therear plate 50 is retained in theholding hole 42 of thefront plate 40, as illustrated in FIG. 4. - The
guide portion 43 of theclip portion 41 of thefront plate 40 is intended to help enlarge the gap between thefront plate 40 and therear plate 50, so as to facilitate the entry of the collar. - In the process of removing the
collar clip 20 from the collar, theconnection portion 30 is pressed with fingers and is then pulled away from the collar such that the collar is pulled out of the gap between thefront plate 40 and therear plate 50. In light of theprotrusion 52 being arcuate in shape, thecollar clip 20 can be easily pulled away from the collar.
