- The present invention relates generally to illumination devices. More specifically, the invention is a line of decorative scented and simulated fruit candles.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- The related art of interest describes various candles, but none describes the assortment of universally known fruit candles. There is a need for a candle which resembles a fruit, including the wick simulating the stem, and dispenses an odor typical of that specific fruit. The related art will be discussed in the order of perceived relevance to the present invention.
- U.S. Design Pat. No. 302,315 issued on Jul. 18, 1989, to Michael C. Lam describes a pair of linked apple-shaped candles connected by a common wick. The apple candles are flattened. The candle combination is distinguishable for its common wick, the flattened apple candles, and the lack of any scenting.
- U.S. Design Pat. No. 375,178 issued on Oct. 29, 1996, to Earle R. Vickery describes a chili ristra-shaped candle comprising a candle shaped as a group of chili peppers. The candle is distinguishable for its unique structure of strung peppers and the lack of any color or scenting.
- U.S. Pat. No. 5,578,089 issued on Nov. 26, 1996, to Mohamed Elsamaloty describes a clear gel candle (no drawings) which can be colored or scented with fragrances. The candle is distinguishable for its lack of any distinctive shapes.
- U.S. Design Pat. No. 115,947 issued on Aug. 1, 1939, to Lester F. Wilson describes a spherical dimpled candle with a centered wick and a flat bottom. The candle is distinguishable for its lack of description as to what object it resembles and whether it is scented.
- U.S. Pat. No. 2,974,509 issued on Mar. 14, 1961, to Aladar J. Penke describes an artistic candle having petals, a corolla and a base. The petals open up as the candle burns. The candle is distinguishable for its limitation to a flower.
- U.S. Pat. No. 5,871,553 issued on Feb. 16, 1999, to Laura A. Spaulding describes a fragrance-carrier composition for use in tart candles by pouring into the reservoir of the candle comprising a hydrogenated polyisoalkene such as a hydrogenated polyisobutene. The disclosure does not suggest any fruit-shaped candles.
- U.S. Pat. No. 5,964,905 issued on Oct. 12, 1999, to William R. Camp et al. describes a scented candle gel composition which is flash proof comprising a triblock copolymer and a hydrcarbon oil. The disclosure does not suggest any fruit-shaped candles.
- U.S. Pat. No. 6,056,541 issued on May 2, 2000, to David Gerszewski describes a candle shaped with two opposing flat sides with a centered hole and having double wicks which traverse the interior as one continuous wick. The disclosure does not suggest any fruit-shaped candles.
- U.K. Patent Application No. 2,196,017 A published on Apr. 20, 1988, for Chun B. M. Lam describes candles with varying shapes such as flat vertical sides and open central regions, and optic fibre wicks exposed by the openings. The disclosure does not suggest any fruit-shaped candles.
- None of the above inventions and patents, taken either singularly or in combination, is seen to describe the instant invention as claimed. Thus, a fruit shaped and scented candle providing a reminiscent revelation is desired.
