Since it is obvious -that moisture might also seep around the outside of the base I and through one of the openings in the wall 20, I provide an additional moisture proofing means in the form of a gasket 28 composed of some suitable resilient material, such as rubber, having two depending bushings 29 formed thereon.
The gasket 23 is also provided with a. center opening 32 and two, channel shaped openings 90 displaced from the depending bushings 29 to permit the gasket 23 to be slipped over the projections 33 thus making a snug fit with the base 25 I., The conductors 24 and 25 pass through the bushings 23 which grip the conductor to 'form a fluid-tight seal therearound.

The screw shell contact 2 is then placed in the well 50i base I, the cut away portion IB being slipped over the two raised portions II and I4. The shell is then secured in 45 place by means of bolts I9. Asthe bolts are tightened, the resilient sleeve 4 is pulled tight against the shoulder 23 to form a' uid seal.

A mounting of this type has many applications but I iind that it is particularly desirable where a lampvis to be mounted on the inner wall 31 of a refrigerator 36 (Fig. 5)'wh'ere moisture after it passes through the inner wall seriously affects the heat insulating material of the lining. Electrical energy is supplied to the lamp through plug- 38. As is common in the art the lamp circuit contains a door switch 33 which closes the lamp circuit when the refrigerator door 40 is opened and opens the circuit hen the door is closed.
-Modiiications of the particular arrangement whichl have disclosed embodying my invention will occur to those shlled in the art, so I do not desire my invention to be limited to the particular construction set forth, and I intend, inthe I appended claims, to cover all modiflcations which do not depart from the true spirit o! my invention.
What I claim as new and desire'to secure by Letters Patent of the UnitedStates is:
1. A socket member comprising abase, a shell contact mounted in said base, a shoulder on the inner wall of said base, a resilient cylindrical sleeve located around said shell contact and held in compression by' said contact againstsaid inner shoulder, said sleeve extending beyond the outer end'of said shell contact to engage a lamp inserted in said contact, a wall having a plurality of apertures therein, means to secure the socket to said wall, and a gasket'located-between said socket and said wall and having integral bushing members' adapted to surround conductors passing through apertures in said wall and connected to said socket.
