This invention appertains to'new and useful improvements and means for dispensing and maintaining cool various kinds of liquid substances such as milk and various beverages.
The principal object of the present invention is to provide a dispenser of compact construction and one in which beverage can be maintained cool without constant attention.
Another important object of the invention is to provide a liquid container in which milk can be placed and from which can be dispensed in an easy and convenient manner wherein means is provided for permitting the milk to be agitated from time to time to maintain the cream thoroughly mixed with the precipitated portion -of the milk.
These and various other important objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent to the reader of the following specification.

Referring to the drawings wherein like numerals designate like parts, it can be seen in Figure 3, that numeral 5 represents an outside shell which is provided at its bottom with an annulus [5 formed with depending legs 1.
The upper edge of this shell 5 is disposed inwardly to provide a horizontal flange 8 having the downturned circumferentially extending lip 9 at its edge portion for engaging under the outturne'd flange It! at the upper end of the inner receptacle H, which receptacle serves to contain the liquid to be dispensed.
An annular partition I2 is located in the compartment l3 between the shell 5 and the inner receptacle fl and this is preferably secured by soldering, welding or some other suitable means to the inner side of the shell 5, so that the inner receptacle H can readily be removed. This partition I2 is provided with openings I 4 through which melted ice can drain to reach the drain compartment IS. The compartment I3 is filled with ice and salt for maintaining the contents of the receptacle ll cool.
A closure plate '5 is provided for the top of the receptacle H and this is provided inwardly of its periphery with a downwardly disposed flange ll. Theflange I! is annular and intended for snug fit into the upper portion of the receptacle II as shown in Figures 3 and 5. The portion of the periphery of the cover It extending beyond the flange l1 overlaps the flange 8 of the shell 5 as well as the flange l8 at the upper edge of the receptacle II and interposed between the portion of the cover [6 and the flange I8 is the packing ring I9. Lugs 20 extend outwardly from the peripheral portion of the cover l6 and are apertured. Bolts 2| extending upwardly from the flange 8 extend through spacers 22 and through the openings in the lugs 20 and are equipped with wing nuts 23 which when tightened downwardly against the lugs 20 cause the cover [6 to bear snugly over the upper end of the receptacle ll.
Numeral 24 is a conical shaped dome having an upstanding bearing 25 at its apex through which the rod 26 is slidable. The hood 24 is provided with hasps 21 engaging over the keepers 28 on the shell 5 and padlocks 29 or other fastening means are engaged with the keepers 28.
Numeral 30 represents an upright on the dome 24 which is braced by the arms 3|v extending therefrom and connecting the bearings 25 at the apex of the hood 2d. The upper end of the upright 30 is slotted as at 32 and through this extends the elongated bar 33 which is pivotally connected to the upright 30 at the point where it extends through the slot 32 and more specifically as at 34.
The end 35 of the bar 33 serves as a handle, while the opposite end is slotted as at 36 to receive the lateral pin 3'! at the upper end of the rod 26.
A conical shaped agitator 38 provided with perforations is secured as at 39 to the lower end of the rod 26.
If a suitable liquid refrigerant is to be used in the chamber I3 an inlet pipe 40 is provided for the same, while the pipe 4| represents a drain for the chamber l5.
Numeral 42 is the drain faucet whereby liquid is dispensed from the receptacle ll.
When the structure is being used for dispensing of milk, it is necessary to keep the milk agitated now and then to maintain the cream thoroughly mixed with the rest of the milk substance.
While the foregoing specification sets forth the invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having thus described the invention, What is claimed as new is:
1. A dispensing device of the character described comprising a shell, an inside receptacle detachably supported in the shell, discharge means communicating with said receptacle, means for spacing the receptacle from the shell, a cover for the receptacle, a detachable dome for the shell and positioned over said cover, a plunger in the receptacle, a rod extending from the plunger through the cover and through the dome and means on the dome whereby the rod and plunger can be reciprocated.
2. A dispensing device of the character described comprising a shell, an inside receptacle detachably supported in the shell, discharge means communicating with said receptacle, means for spacing the receptacle from the shell, a cover for the receptacle, a detachable dome for the shell and positioned over said cover, a plunger in the receptacle, a rod extending from the plunger through the cover and through the dome and means on the dome whereby the rod and plunger can be reciprocated, said means consisting of an upright on the dome, a bar rockable on the upright and a pin and slot connection between the rods and the bar.
3. A dispensing device of the character described comprising a shell, an inside receptacle detachably supported in the shell, discharge means communicating with said receptacle, means for spacing the receptacle from the shell, a cover for the receptacle, a detachable dome for the shell and positioned over said cover, a plunger in the receptacle, a rod extending from the the plunger through the cover and through the dome and means on the dome whereby the rod and plunger can be reciprocated, said cover being provided with packing and clamp means whereby the cover can be firmly secured over the upper portion of the receptacle.
