In my prior application, Serial No. 404,745, filed November 4, 1929, there is shown, de scribed and claimed sun bath apparatus including a rectangular frame, an adjustable roof structure, and a dressing-room'forminganintegral part of the structure, together with a circular track upon which the'apparat-us is adapted to be turned. v

My present invention relates to apparatus including the features disclosed in my prior application aforesaid, and with further improved means for assembling and disassembling the structure. v Apparatus embodying features of my invention as illustrated in the accompanying drawings forming apart of this application in which:- 7 Fig. 1 is a plan view of the apparatus assembled, ready for use;

Referring to the "drawings for a better undestanding of my invention, I show in Figs. '1 to 3 my improved sun bath apparatus comprising twoside frames 10 and 11 and similar end frames 12, one end of both of the side frames having secured thereto anoutw wardly flaring portion 14 for the purpose of admitting sun rays when the sun is relatively low in the heavens as in the morning and afternoon.- Secured to one side of the apparatus is a dressing room 16 having a door 17 through whichentranceinto the interior may be had. The whole is enclosed by means of a fabric covering 18.

Supported on the side frames in .a manner to be more particularly described hereinafter is a roof structure 22 embodying a plurality of adjustable louvers 23 which may beop-ened or closed to adapt theapparatus to the angle of the'sun rays while preventing observation of the occupant from above. The side frames 10 and. 11 are provided with legs 24, each having a roller 26, and the dressing room frame is provided with a leg 27 having a roller 28. All of these rollers rest upon a circular track 29, so that the apparatus may be turned in any direction necessary to accommodate it to the angle of the sun rays.

The apparatus so far described is quite similar tothat described in my hereinbeforementioned patent application. The improved features of construction embodied in my present invention will now be described. Referring to Figs. 4 and 5, the side frames 10 and 11 are formed of structural angle end members 31 and 32 joined together by lower angle side rails 33 and upper angle side rails 34. 3 The upper side rails 34 extend ries hinges 38 and 39. It will be seen, with this construction, that the side frames may be collapsed toward each other to the position indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 6, and lie flat for shipping; When extended, the pins 48 bear against the lower ends of the guides 49 and 51'to hold the frames against further spreading. The roofstructure embodies a plurality of louvers 23 pivoted to the frame 57 and having links 58 connected to one end thereof and to a longitudinally extending operating bar 59 which passes yokes 62. In Figs. 9 and 10 I show the frame for the dressing room 16. This frame comprises two rectangular portions; 66 and 67 hinged to- 7 5 portion 66 is provided with hinge halves 69 to connect with the hinge halves 38 carried by the side frame 10. By connecting the frame portions 66 and 67 in the manner described, the frame may be opened and turned back against the side frame 10 to the position shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1. The upright members 31' and 3 are each provided with a button rivet 95 and theends of the bars 91 and 92 are provided with hooks 94 adapted to fit over the button rivets, thereby insuring that the rollers 26 shall always bear on the track 29. A radius rod 93 is connected to the center pin 88, and is hooked over a button rivet 95 on the upright member 71 of the rectangular frame 67 of the dressing room and insures proper support for the dressing room frame on the track 29. I

In Figs. 14 and 15 I show the meansfor securing the fabric covering 18 to the frame im members previously described. This means consists in wire hooks 96 having bent back side portions 97 and extensions 98 which vare sewed into theseam along the edge of the fabric covering and may be readily hooked over the edges of the angles. I thus avoid the difiieulty' inherent in providing holes in the fabricto match buttons on the structure, and which tends to produce a baggy effect on the fabric'covering when assembled. l/Vith my improvedv fastening means, the fabric covering may be hooked on in a few moments and arranged to lie flat against the frame of the apparatus;

From the foregoing it will be apparent that I have devised animproved sun bath apparatus which is extremely simple and sturdy of design, and which may be collapsed to lie fiat in a very small package when shipping. During shipment, the side frames are bolted together, as illustrated in Fig. 6; the roof is turned on its hinges to lie fiat against the side; the dressing room frame is folded back to lie fiat against the side frame, as shownin Figurel, and the door 17 is turned on its hinges to lieflat against the side frame. It is then only necessary to tie the frame together and it is ready for shipment. The dressing room floor 76, the mattress 21, and mattress frame 19 form separate packages, as does also the disassembled track 29. I r

In operation, it will be readily appreciated that the apparatus may be turned 011 the track 29 to accommodate it to the position of the sun and the louvers 23 adjusted by the occupant to suit his individual needs.

While I have shown my invention in but one form, it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that it is not so limited, but is susceptible of various changes and modifications, without departing from the spirit thereof, and I desire, therefore, that only such limitations shall be placed thereupon as are imposed by the prior art oras are specifically set forth in the appended claims.
