This invention relates to a Candlestick set or Chandelier composed of separable Candlesticks which may be grouped to form chandeliers of varying ornamental formations.

'5 The object of the present invention is to provide a Candlestick set or chandelier composed of a plurality of individual Candlesticks which may be separated for individual use or nested and grouped to form varying ornamental congural tions. The invention, briey stated, comprises a plurality of Candlesticks of varying length which may be polyhedral, cylindrical, or otherwise shaped, and which are Cut or grooved on one side to t the Contour of an adjacent Candlestick so that a number of Candlesticks may be assembled and nested with relation to each other to form chandeliers of Varying ornamental formations.

The invention is shown by way of illustration in the accompanying drawings, in which- Fig. 1 is a perspective View showing three Candlesticks adapted for nesting and grouping purposes.

Fig. 3 shows one possible grouping of the type of Candlesticks shown in Fig. 1.

Fig. 6 shows a grouping of apolyhedral form of Candlestick. In this instance they are of hexagonal Cross section and they are grouped to nest against each other.

Referring to the drawings in detail, particularly Figs. l and 2, it will be noted that the Candle- 45 sticks, indicated at A, B and C, are ofcylindrical cross section. They are elongated and vary in length. One side of the Candlesticks, shown at B and C, is cut away or grooved from end to end to t the contour of an adjacent Y Candlestick, thus permitting the Candlesticks to be nested and grouped as shown in Figs. 2, 3, 4, and 5. Wherever a group formation is formed one Candlestick need not be grooved, for instance the one indicated at A, but the others must be grooved'to permit nesting against each other.

In Fig. 3 a series of Candlesticks of cylindrical type are shown grouped in one formation. In Figs. 2 and 4 they are shown as separated in two gro-ups, and in Fig. 5 they are separated in two groups with a single Candlestick between them.

The cross section of the Candlestick is more or less immaterial, as shown in Figs. 6 to 11, inclusive, that is, they may be polyhedral in shape, a hexagonal form being shown in Figs. 6, '7 and 3; a square form in Figs. 9 and l0, and a triangular form in Hg. l1. Other shapes are, of course, possible. Regardless of the cross sectional shape, it is preferable that the Candlesticks be of varying length to form the step formation shown in different groups, and it is also desirable that the grooves indicated at 2 and formed in one side, as shown in Fig. l, should be of a Contour so that snug nesting is possible.

In Figs. 9 and 10 the groove is indicated at 3. Here it is of a different shaper than that shown in Fig. 1, but the shape is nevertheless such that it ts the Contour of an adjacent Candlestick and thereby permits nesting; the same being true of the hexagonal type shown in Figs. 6 to 8, or the triangular type shown in Fig. 11.

The Candlesticks when grouped form a chande lier and varying formations and artistic and ornamental eiects can be produced by the variation in grouping and by the particular shape of Candlestick employed. A Candlestick set of this Character lends itself for table and mantel decoration as the Candlesticks may be arranged in groups longitudinally of the table or mantel and they may obviously be separated and spaced apart as Conditions may demand.

In each instance the Candlestick will have a socket 4 formed in the upper end for the reception of a candle. This socket may be tapering, or otherwise, in form, depending upon the type of Candle to be supported, and while this and other features have been more or less specically described, I wish it understood that various changes may be resorted to within the scope of Vthe appended Claims. Similarly, that the materials and finish of the several parts employed may be such as the manufacturer may decide, or Varying Conditions or uses may demand.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- 1. An article of manufacture comprising a Candlestick set including a plurality of elongated candlesticks substantially similar in Cross section but varying in length, al1 of the Candlesticks, except the longest one, having a groove formed in one the longest one, having a groove formed in one side and extending from top to bottom thereof, and said grooves being shaped to t the contour of an adjacent Candlestick to permit the candlesticks to nest one into the other, said Candlesticks being separable and adjustable to stand independently to permit grouping in Varying forms.
