IMPROVEMENT IN LAMP-BRACKETS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. [95,289, dated September 18, 1877; application filed July 9, 1877.
To all whom 'it may concern Be it known that I, THOMAS J. JURY, of Spencer, in the county of Owen and State of Indiana, have invented a new and Improved Combined Spool-Stand and Lamp-Holder, of which the'following is a specification:
lhis invention has for its object the combination, with a sectional jointed bracket and clamp, of a rotary spool-stand and a lampholder, as will be hereinafter explained.
In the annexed drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of the invention, partly in section. Fig. 2 is a top View.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The letter A designates a bracket, which is composed of sections a a a. jointed together, so that they will articulate freely, and can be extended or contracted at will. The section a is secured to two jaws, B, to which a clampscrew, b, is applied, for the purpose of fastening the bracket A to the edge of a table.
0 designates a horizontal stand, which is free to rotate on a post, 0, that is secured to the section a and into the upper side of which stand are fixed a number of pins, d, intended to receive spools of thread and allow the spools to rotate freely while the thread is being unwound from them.
The stand 0 shown in the drawings is hexagonal, and is constructed with pockets 0 e, a
pin-cushion, f, and a pivoted drawer, K, for receiving such articles as are useful about a ladys work-stand.
The section a has cast entire with it, or secured to it, a shelf, D. which supports a lamp,
