My invention relates to improvements in window stages, more particularly to stages to which it is desired to hoist materials for use by the workmen on said stages and itconsists in the combination, constructions and arrangements herein described and claimed.
An object of my invention is to provide a window stage so constructedthat it may lobe secured to windows surrounded by walls of varying thickness.
A further object of my invention is to provide a window stage adapted for the hitching of the hoist thereto for the raising of materials or otherpurposes for which my hitching ring might be used.
A. further object of my invention is to provide a device of the type described which is simple in construction, has few parts and is not likely to get out of order easily.
Other objects and advantages will appear in the followingspecification, and the novel features of the invention will be particularly pointed out in'the appended claims.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings forming part of this application in which:

In carryingout my invention, I make use of a flat deck or platform 1 which may be made of wood or any other suitable material mounted on a' frame 2 constructed of angle iron or other suitable material. .Theplatform 1 is secured to the frame 2 by suitable clamping means comprising the clamping plate la adapted to clamped to the frame 2 by suitable clamping means such as the bolt and nut shown at 1b as more clearly appears in Figures 3'and 6. The'blocks 10 which are engaged with the frame 2 restrain the platform 1 against lateral sliding movement relative to the frame.
Fastened to this frame and extending downwardly therefrom are the brace arms 3 which support the frame against the wall below the window by means of the supporting blocks 4 secured thereto by fastening means 5. The arms 3are secured to the frame 2 by the brace rods 6 fastened to the brace arms 3 suitable means shown at 7. These rods 6 areconnected to the frame 2 by the hook portion 6a engaging the apertures 2a in said frame.
The frame 2 has two laterally extending arms 8 projecting therefrom at right angles 8 are provided with the pivot members 9 upon which are mounted the guard arms 10 providing the notches l1 and 12 for engagement with the supporting rod 13 and the latch means 14 respectively. The series of notches ll'of each of the members 10 are in alinement with the series of notches on the other member 10 thereby providing suitable meansfo-r mounting the supporting rod on said arms 8. This supporting rod 13' is provided near its adjacent ends with the pivotally mounted blocks 13a, provided with felt or other similar friction surface for engagement with the walls surrounding the window. This prevents the supporting rod from sliding relative to saidwalls when said blocks are brought into engagement therewith. The latch 14 is provided with a compression spring 15 which normally urges said latch into engagement with the notch 12 thereby securing the .member 10 9 in fixed position, thus maintaining the supporting rod 13 in fixed position in one of the pairs of notches relative to said arm and the wall.
For the purpose of hoisting material toplatforms or of securing matter to said platform or for other purposes, I provide a hitching ring 16 suspended from the frame 2, by supporting rods 17 provided with re-. tention hooks 17a for" securing said rods to the brace arms 3. These supporting arms 7 detachably to the frame 2. It will readily be seen that the hitching ring 16' provides a suitable means for fastening the hoisting apparatus co'ntainersior material or the like.
From the foregoing description of the various parts of the ClGZlSQ, the operation thereof may be readiiy understood- This window stage, as.previouslystated, is designed for mounting on window frames surrounded by Walls of varying thickness. To accommodate this stage such Walis, it is merely necessary'to compress the latch springs under the deck thereby releasing the guard arms 10 and thus permitting the supporting rod 13 to be inserted in any of the notches 11 of said guard arms 10 for accommodation of the particular wall to which the device is being. fitted. The deck is then securely sup ported in fixed position by the block members 4 engaging the vert'cal exterior wall below the window and the blocks 18a engaging the interior walls beside the window. The device can readily be detached from the window frame by merely pressing the latches 1%, raising the guards 10 and takin from o aerative position the supporting rod 13- Whereby the whole device is readily removable from the window. The hitching ring, of course, is readily attached or detached by means of the retentionlhooks at the will of the workmen using the window stage. I
I claim: i
1. A frame for supporting the deck of a window stage comprising supporting arms adapted to extend from said frame through the aperture of a Window, asupporting bar adapted for engagement with the interior of the walls surrounding the aperture of said window and means for adjustably se- V curing said supporting-bar to said supportarms, consisting of slotted arms pivoted on said supporting arms and latches on said frame for securing said slotted arms in position.
2. In a supporting frame for the deck of a'window stage, supporting arms adapted to extend through the aperture of a window frame, adjustable means for fixing said supporting arms relatively to said window frame comprising guard arms pivotally mounted on said supporting arms andhaving a series of spaced alined notches, iatches on the frame for securing said guard arms against pivotal movement, and a baradapted to be placed in said spaced ali'ned notches and adapted for engagementwith the in? terio-r of the walls surrounding said window frame whereby said frame is adapted to be support d from window frames surrounded by walls of varying thickness.
