This invention relates to a brassiere, the general object of the invention being to provide a garment which will act as a slight support for the bust and which will act as a cover forthe bust when worn with summer clothes, evening dresses, negligees, etc.

Another object of the invention isrto provide means whereby the garment can be easily and quickly adjusted and one in which there is no danger of the shoulder ribbons slipping off the shoulders or getting out of place.

This invention also consists in certain other "features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, tobe hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically claims. I In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a front view of a ing the device.

As shown in these drawings, the device comprises a pair of triangular shaped parts PBISOIL weargular piece of material, as shown at 3 in dart 5 is formed at the center of the blank so that when the material is folded on the line 4, the central part," containing the dart, will be of six thicknesses, as shown in Figures 4 and 5. The edges of the folded material pointed out in the appended 1 and 2, each part being formed of a rectanpoint of each part of the garment is fastened as shown at 7, so that the lower inner corners of the two parts 1 and 2 overlap each other, as shown in Figure 3. The two parts are also tacked together at the point 8. A ring 9 is sewn to the base of each dart and one end of a ribbon 10.is sewn to the outer lower corner of each part. A ribbon 11 is sewn to the upper corner of each part, these ribbons 11 being adapted to be passed over the shoulders of the wearer and have their other ends fastened to a ring 12. The ribbons 10 are adapted to be passed through this ring 12 and then said ribbons are brought forwardly around the body and passed through the rings 9, where they are tied together in a bow, as shown at. 13. By suitably adjusting these ribbons 10, a strain is exerted upon the rib bons 11 so that the parts 1 and 2 are properly adjusted on the wearer. The garment is not meant for a great amount of confinement of the bust, but serves to slightly support the same, as it is principally designed as a covering for the bust when low neck dresses are worn. It is also useful withsport'clothes,

as the ribbons will not slip off the shoulders even during violent movements of the body and the garment does not compress the body anywhere and gives the body the utmost freedom.

It isthought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.

It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.

The parts 1 and 2 have been referred to in the preceding specification as being triangular shaped, however, said parts may have peripheral edges defining. otherishapes without departing from the spiritofi; the invention; It is essential however, that the attachingpoints, at which the parts are connected with each other and theribbons, be triangularly located with relation to each other, on each 0 are stitched together, as shown at 6, and one part, so that thestresses may be properly applied when the brassiere is in position upon the body of the wearer.

What I claim is 1. A garment of the class described comprising a pair of members havin triangularly located attaching points an their inner lower portions overlapping, with the inner point of each member connected to about the center of the bottom part of the other member, ribbons connected with the lower outer points, ribbons connected to the upper points and adapted to pass over the shoulders of the wearer, the first mentioned ribbons passing around the waist of the wearer, a ring to which the rear ends of the shoulder ribbons are connected, the first mentioned ribbons passing through said ring and then brought forwardly around the body and fastened together at the front.

2. Agarment of the class described comprising a pair of members having triangularly located attaching points and their inner lower portions overlapping, with the inner point of each member connected to about the center of the bottom part of the other member, ribbons connected with the lower outer points, ribbons connected to the upper points and adapted to pass over the shoulders'of the wearer, the first mentioned ribbons passing around the waist of the wearer, a ring to which the rear-ends of the shoulder ribbons are connected, the first mentioned ribbons passing through said ring and then brought forwardly around the body and fastened together at the front and rings connected with the central lower portions of the two members and through which the first mentioned ribbons pass.

3. A garment of the class described comprisin a pair of triangular shaped members, each fbrmed of a square of material folded on a line extending from one corner to the other, with the edges of the folded parts connected together, said square having a dart at its center and extending at right angles to the fold line, the lower inner corner of each member being connected to the central part of the lower edge of the other member whereby the inner portions of the two members overlap each other, with the intersecting edges of the two members connected together, a ring sewn to the lower edge at the center thereof of each member, ribbons connected with the outer points of the members, ribbons connected with the upper points of the members and passing over the shoulders of the wearer,

. means for connecting the shoulder ribbons to the side ribbons, said side ribbons passing around the waist of the wearer andthrough the front rings, after which they are fastened to ether.
