The object of my invention is to produce a money clip which will hold paper mone or bills in a triple folded condition.

Another object of my invention is toproduce a money clip which will hold paper money or bills in such a manner to allow the top bill to be removed without disturblng the remaining folded bills.

A further object of my invention is to proparts which will be exemplified in the fol lowing specification and illustrated in the accompanying drawing.-

The disclosure made the basis of exemplifying the present inventive concept suggests a practical embodiment thereof, but the invention is not to be restricted to the exact .details of this disclosure, and the lattertherefore is to be understood from an illustrative, rather than a restrictive standpoint.

The invention'will first be described in connection with the drawing, wherein similar reference characters are used to designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, and more specifically defined and indicated in the appended claim.

Attention is directed to the drawing in which-- Fig. 1 is a front elevation of my improved money clip;

Both of these bends 3 and 5 give aspring action to their respective gripping tongues.

The purpose of this type of hinged tongue is to facilitate the folding over and gripping of the ends of the bills, it being easily understood from the drawing that the tongue 40 can be swung upward past the plane of the body 1a and held in this position until the ends of the bills are folded over and then released. The action of the coil spring -7"wi11 swing it downward into Contact with the ends of the bills and hold them in position.

While in Fig. 4. I have illustrated in dotted lines that the bills are being'withdrawn from the left side, it is to be understood that the moneymay be drawn from either side, right or left. This is accomplished simply by having the bills inserted in such a manner that the fold on the right side will be on the top. In this way the bills will be removed in thereverse direction from that shown'in' Fig. 4-. y

V I also wish it understood that while I have shown and described my money clip as beingmade of a piece of spring metal, it may also be constructed of any other material which will accomplish the purposes herein de-v scribed and also that it may be madeof a strip of wire bent into the proper formation so as to have a body portion 1, a large grippingmember 2, and a small tongue 4'.

In accordance with the provisions of the patent statute, I have described my invention, butI desire it understood that it is not confined to the particular form shown and described, the same being merely illustrative, and that the invention can be carried is obvious that the particular embodiments out in other ways without departing from the spirit of my invention, and therefore, I I

claim broadly the right to employ all equivalent instrumentalities coming within the scope of the appended claim, and by means of which, objects of my inventions-are attained and new results accomplished; as'it I herein shown and described are only some of many that can be employed to attain these objects and accomplish these results.
