Figure 4 shows the manner of attaching the collar to the shirt.
The band a is preferably made ofa flat spring of nickelled steel-and the stud b, which is fixed at one end thereof, may be made in any of the usual forms with hinged or fixed parts with that exception that the back portion is dispensed with as the stud is fixed hole. Preferably additional tape loops e e, are provided between the back tape loop 6 and the two ends of'the neckband. f
The device according to the present invention may be used in connection with an ordinary collar, the steel band being passed from one side to the other side of the collar 9 through the hole 7 at the back of the collar I but preferably additional holes 11, f f are provided therein between the usual hole 7 at the back of the collar and the two ends 7 in the frontof the collar and an aperture at its other end intended to engage with the said stud, the said band being entirely detached from the collar and from thencckbandof the shirt, incombination with means I secured to the neck-band of the shirt through which the said stiff but flexible band can be inserted in position to secure the detachable collar to the shirt without the use of a back stud for the purposes set forth.
